بسم اللہ الرحمٰن الرحیم
نحمدہ و نصلی علیٰ رسولہ الکریم، اما بعد
حضرت انسؓ نے نبی کریم ﷺ سے روایت فرمایا ہے کہ حق تعالٰی اس بات پر بہت خوش ہوتے ہیں جب بندہ ایک لقمہ کھانا کھا لے یا ایک گھونٹ پانی پیے اور حق تعالٰی کا اس پر شکر ادا کرے ۔ شمائل ترمذی
Hadhrat Anas radhiallah anhu has related from the Blessed Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam that Allah the Most-High is very pleased when His servant shows gratitude to Him upon eating a morsel of food or upon drinking a sip of water. (Shamaa’il-e-Tirmidhi)
حضرت عائشہ صدیقہؓ سے روایت ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا جب کوئی کھانے کے شروع میں بسم اللہ پڑھنا بھول جائے تو درمیان میں یا بعد میں یاد آنے پر اس طرح پڑھے: بسم اللہ اولہ و آخرہ۔ زاد المعاد ، شمائل ترمذی
It has been narrated by Hadhrat Aisha Siddeeqah radhiallah anha that the Blessed Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, “When a person forgets to recite ‘Bismillah’ before eating, then let him recite ‘Bismillahi awwalahu wa aakharhu’ upon remembering it during his meal or after.” (Zaad-ul-Ma’aad & Shamaa’il-e-Tirmidhi)
علما نے لکھا ہے کہ بسم اللہ کو آواز سے پڑھنا اولٰی ہے تا کہ دوسرے ساتھی اگر خیال نہ رہے تو یاد آ جائے۔ خصائل نبویؐ
The scholars have written that it is best to recite ‘Bismillah’ audibly (before eating) as it can be a reminder for other participants (in eating) in case they had forgotten to do so. (Khasaa’il-e-Nabawi)
آپ ﷺ کھانے کو اوپر سے شروع نہ فرماتے بلکہ اپنے سامنے نیچے کی جانب سے شروع فرماتے اور فرماتے کہ کھانے میں برکت اوپر کے حصے میں ہوتی ہے۔ خصائل نبویؐ ، ترمذی ، ابن ماجہ ، مشکوٰۃ
The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam would not start eating from the top of the portion of food but from the side nearest to him from the bottom and he would say, “The blessing in the food is in the upper portion.” (Khasaa’il-e-Nabawi, Tirmidhi, Ibn Majah & Mishkat)
اللہ سبحانہ و تعالٰی ہمیں نبی کریم ﷺ کی تمام سنتوں پہ عمل کرنے کی توفیق نصیب فرمائے۔
I pray to Allah subhana wa ta’ala to grant us the taufeeq to have amal upon all the Sunnahs of the Blessed Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam.
