نحمدہ و نصلی علیٰ رسولہ الکریم، اما بعد
سرمہ شریف کی سنتیں
The Sunnahs of the Blessed Surmah
سرخ ڈوری سفیدی میں رنگ آنکھ کا
سرمگیں لمبی پلکیں پھبن آنکھ کا
دستِ قدرت میں جیسے کنول آب کا
مازاغ البصرہے لقب آنکھ کا
چشمِ دیدارِ قدرت پہ لاکھوں سلام
The beautiful red lines in the whiteness of his eyes,
The beautiful long eyelashes in Surmah and their charm,
The captivation (of his eyes), like the lotus-flower above the water,
Maazaagh-al-basar is the title of his eyes.
Millions of salaam be upon the eyes that saw the Divine.
ابن عباسؓ سے مروی ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ کی ایک سرمہ دانی تھی جس میں آپ سرمہ رکھتے تھے۔ شمائل ترمذی
It has been narrated by Ibn Abbas radhiallah anhu that Allah’s Messenger sallallahu alayhi wa sallam possessed a surma-dani (collyrium box) in which he kept surmah. (Shamaa’il-e-Tirmidhi)
آپ ﷺ کی عادت شریفہ تھی کہ آپ ﷺ سوتے وقت سرمہ لگاتے تھے۔ شمائل ترمذی
It was the blessed habit of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam that he would wear surmah before going to sleep. (Shamaa’il-e-Tirmidhi)
اللہ سبحانہ و تعالٰی نبی کریم ﷺ کی پیاری پیاری سنتوں پہ عمل کرنے کی توفیق نصیب فرمائے۔
I pray that Allah subhana wa ta’ala grants us the taufeeq to have amal upon the beautiful and wonderful Sunnahs of the Blessed Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam.
