Alhamdulillah, With Allah's grace and blessings very soon we will enter into another great night. The night of power. And this is a great treasure from Allah's treasures. Allah has not given such a night to any previous nation which He has given to us. The virtues of this night are immense although the night only lasts for a few hours.

Allah ta'ala has kept the rewards hidden in this night.
It is greater than a thousand months in a way that if someone supplicates in this night, it is equal to supplicating for 87 years. This is the same with other worships like prostrating etc
And if someone supplicates to Allah for 87 years, would Allah ta'ala not accept his supplication?

Even If we were to attain 87 years of worship, is there any proof it would be accepted by Allah? But here even the acceptance is attached to the 87 years of worship. The guarantee comes that Allah is accepting this deed! So when we are reckoned (on qiyamah) for the worship we engaged in on this night, the reward will be so much that a person cannot even imagine.
All the worship performed on this night will be equivalent to more than 87 years and all accepted! So how can the worship of this night be wasted?

This is not a night of cooking food or giving speeches. This isn't the objective and if we utilise something against its actual purpose, then it only serves as a waste.

If we spend this night of power correctly it can be a means of our forgiveness and this person will depart from the world without any fear.
The rewards are for those who wish to become Muttaqi because the real purpose of Ramadan is to attain taqwa. Allah has placed the actions in this night which is the treasure for the Muttaqi.

A thing is completed correctly only with its correct components, so the completion of laylatul Qadr is in taking the rewards Allah ta'ala has given and using it correctly.

We may perform any worship in this night but there Is an underlying factor and if we implement it, that is the real purpose! The real objective of this night is Repentance and whoever attains this, has attained Jannah.

Nabi ﷺ guides us as to what we should do on this night.
( 2 meanings )

Either Nabi ﷺ stayed awake with insight and understanding and the right application. Or, he prayed 2 nafil.

So,

1) Whatever Nabi ﷺ indicated, we should spend the night in that way. (We should pass the night with understanding and with the right application)

2) Only 2 rakat nafil were prayed by the Prophet ﷺ which was 2 Rakaat for taubah

We should remain awake with awareness and understanding and we should perform 2 rakat.
To perform these 2 rakat nafil is considered more important than performing any other deeds. If one doesn't perform these 2 deeds that the prophet ﷺ informs us, then everything else cannot reach to its height.

We should pray 2 rakat salah for taubah with the intention that we are seeking forgiveness in the night which forgiveness has been especially set for! It is from the qualities of a Muttaqi that he should seek forgiveness from Allah.

How can a person become a Muttaqi when he doesnt seek repentance? Allah has given us 5 of these nights of Qadr, not just 1.

How should we spend this night?
1) we should be conscious and alert. Those actions that the prophet ﷺ has demonstrated, we should only perform those.
2) we should pray 2 rakat salaat taubah

Repentance is when we present ourselves to Allah after praying, so we can seek Allah's mercy because Salah is a great deed. The Salah of a servant attracts the attention of the lord towards the servant. When a person prays, he is requesting Allah ta'ala's attention to turn towards him. That's why sajdah is a great action.

When Allah focuses Himself upon a person, such a person becomes enlightened. There's no need to present your needs or distresses to Allah as it is not the correct time to do so. A single action should be performed for which this night has been granted. This action is seeking Allah's forgiveenss.

Forgiveness is attained after presenting a sin. Thus, we should present our sins before Allah and acknowledge them. We should not present excuses and think highly of ourselves. We may even commit sins with our thoughts so how can a person be safe from sin? This is why we must repent.

1) We should accept and acknowledge our sin.
2) Promise not to repeat the sin again even if the opportunity arises.
3) Leave that sin immediately

Allah loves it when one asks for forgiveness and forgiveness is the chance for us not to repeat those sins and not to be in loss in the hereafter.

When the human does all these 3 things then he is rewarded.

Sins are attractive but they hold no benefit. For example a woman invites you and you go and commit haraam together and a child was born so to hide the child both of you were stuck so you either had to be dishonoured in society or kill the child. You weren't married so you supplicate to Allah Allah, "Oh Allah I did all this against your order and I underwent so much grief and dishonour. I now repent to you as I've seen the wretched consequences of sins amd I promise I won't commit these actions again."
So we must know that any action done against Allah's orders have the same consequences (as grief and dishonour).

If a person repents in this way, Allah ta'ala surrounds him with His mercy and imagine what one recieves through Allah's Mercy!

If Allah ta'ala surrounds someone with his Mercy, then when Hadhrat jibraeel عليه السلام sees this person hidden with Allah's mercy, so he spreads his wings. SubhaanAllah a single wing of his holds so much power, so imagine when his wings are spread out - how powerful that must be!

His wings are so vast that if he was to hit his wing on this earth, then everything will be destroyed. That's the power of his blessed wings

It is said that Hadhrat jibraeel عليه السلام 's wings take a person to paradise.

In conclusion, this persons abode will be paradise and if we do these actions we will attain laylatul Qadr tonight. If we don't do these actions on time then it's just like we were thirsty, but we didn't get the water to quench our thirst. Hence, we must quench our thirst on time. So tonight we are in desperate need to be safe from Hellfire and to ask Allah for forgiveness for our sins.
This is one action from the hadith which I have presented to you and it shall be the cause for the doors of paradise being opened.

وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا لَيْلَةُ الْقَدْرِ

Here Allah says,
How do you know besides this what else I will give to my servant. He has arrived in paradise but what else will he receive? How will Allah open paradise for him and what rewards will he be bestowed upon him? We will speak about this another time.

So don't waste this concise night. Don't talk about this and that. Focus and do this much what's been prescribed in hadith and we will have totally attained the night of QADR.

May Allah swt grant us the taufeeq Ameen.
