One of the biggest signs of a Muttaqi is the remembrance of Allah. In all conditions he remembers Allah.

His occupation is the Dhikr of Allah and he loves this deed extremely. They remember Allah in thier hearts. And in reality a person becomes a muttaqi with the remembrance of Allah.
If there is no Dhikr, taqwa can't be attained because taqwa is related to the heart of a person.
So the first condition of taqwa is to safeguard one's self from sins.

2 types of sins.
External & Internal sins (Dhahiri & Bãtini)

A person gets stuck with the internal sins. Hence, those who perform much voluntary worship, cant become Muttaqi's merely through their worship. The signs of a Muttaqi are not visible on them even though you see them worshiping all the time
What's the reason for this?

They haven't tried to discard thier internal sins. They have taken hold of the shroud of worship, but they haven't become Muttaqi's through it. Moreover, the basic element of being a Muttaqi is to shun the sins and especially the internal sins of the heart. To leave these sins is very difficult. For those who want to embrace taqwa, the first lesson is to shun themself from internal sins such as lying, gossiping, envy, jealousy etc.
All of these sins accumulate and gather in the heart of a person and taqwa abides in the hearts of men. So obviously when there are mary sins in the heart how can taqwa be present there? Only one thing can be present there. Either light or darkness. Light and darkness can't be present at the same time.

The Muttaqi therefore has to make effort o detach himself from the internal sins.
One can be prevented from committing External sins by others reprimanding and advising him. But who will remind one of his internal sins when he has enshrouded himself with piety and physical worship?

Purifying the internal sins is done by the Dhikr of Allah.
Nabi ﷺ said, "For everything there Is a polish and the polish of the heart is the remembrance of Allah."
When the heart is beautiful, that quality appears on ones face and one can see it externally. The internal state of the heart then transfers to the external appearance of a person.
Hence it is stated the Muttaqi's have an amazing light and peace upon thier face.
When other gazes at him they recieve a message to become pious.

They inspire awe and love within others. You are always inspired by them. So when a person's heart is made, he becomes that complete individual.

You learn and attain both good principles from him and also love. He wont incur loss and you wont be afraid of him, rather you'll love and respect him. You'd want to sit with him.
Allah makes thier personality such that when one sees them they fall in love with them.
This is the glory of a Muttaqi. Because they look after thier hearts with the dhikr of Allah so abundance of Dhikr becomes thier beauty.

Allah praises them in the quran. They are on thier beds but they are detached from thier beds as they are always in Allahs remembrance even whilst lying down.
This is also an emotion of the friends of Alalh who continue to call out to Allah even on thier beds so they are with thier lord. They are fearful of the punishment and hopefull of Allah's mercy.

The state of being humble is that he always has that fear within him that theres no one worse than me. When Alllah increases his ranks He also gives them mercy. So the coolness comes and they remain between a balance of fear and hope.

Dhikr takes one to the destination of Allah's pleasure. And Allah is pleased with a person who has no intenral sins. We cant judge a persons piety by his outer appearance and worship. The sign of a Muttaqi rather is that he doesnt give pain to anyone. He doesnt break anyone heart. People pester him but he prays for those same people. During difficulties and ease he considers that these situations are given by Allah, so he observes patience. He doesnt try to free himself from the environment that he is in, (in other words to ignore). rather he accepts and embraces the challenges then he makes istighfar for his sins )

Allah says when person sits in Dhikr even in a Dhikr gathering he is surrounded by angels and can you image home much 1 mercy of Allah comes from one angel? Ontop of this Allah's mercy surrounds them so what greater act is there that earns this reward!?

Allah says you wont find me anywhere but if you find me, you'll find me in the heart of a Muttaqi.

Ontop of this Allah praises this servant amongst his elite angels. Imagine the rank of this person. This is the Dhikr of Allah which takes him closer to Allah!

وَمِمَّا رَزَقْنَاهُمْ يُنفِقُونَ

Refers to the Wali Allah who don't have materialistic things but they have 1 asset which is the Dhikr of Allah. Due to which they've attained taqwa and the beauty of the heart. They are not miserly because it's not the wealth of the world they spend, rather this is the wealth of the hereafter - The spiritual provision of the hereafter.
They arent stingy with it and they invite the people to Dhikr.

Hadhrat sahib was in Gadai shareef. People don't even know where Gadai shareef is. But his faiz (blessings) have spread amongst the whole world. People are listening to his words even after dying his provision is being spread out! This is sadaqah jariayh and the glory of the muttaqeen.

So if Dhikr is such a great action then will fast not teach us Dhikr.Doing Dhikr is part of the worship of fast

4 things were mentioned about the fast

1) Istighfar
2) abundance of Dhikr
3) Dua
4) Requesting for Jannah and protection from hellfire.

So how can we say there is fasting without Dhikr.

Hadith
Those who do Dhikr of Allah during fasting are forgiven beyond forgiven. Because Allah made the fast for dhikr so we can become Muttaqi through it.
What fast will that be if it is devoid of the Dhikr of Allah.

May Allah allow us to do Dhikr in abundance especially in Ramadan. In every moment we should spend our time doing the dhikr of Allah!
