This world is like a prison cell for the believer.
The environment of a jail is that the prisoner is always in difficulties and is burdened as he's in a tight situation.
Tests and challenges are given to a believer according to how much Allah ta'ala wants to elevate his status in the hereafter.

This dunya is a few days of difficulties but when the believer aligns his life according to Allah's orders and sticks to his objective, this world becomes like a prison cell for him.

A person who isn't following the orders sees this life as a dream. He enjoys his life yet the permanent life of the hereafter becomes a punishment for him.

2 different lifestyles:

1) The life of a believer is restricted like living in a prison cell.
These are those people who persevere through problems and difficulties. They don't go against Allah's orders, rather, they totally adhere to the unlawful and lawful things in Shariah. They smile and adopt this in their lives. A solid hope allows them to do this and their hope develops so strongly that after the night, they see the day. After the darkness, they see the light. They know that the night may be very lengthy but surely morning will follow after it, they know this fact and they believe in it.

To develop this hope in a human being is the highest level of taqwa. This is the glory of a Muttaqi that despite all the worries and difficulties, he endures and develops a power which is the light of hope. If one doesn't have the ray of hope within him, he cannot become a Muttaqi and he finds life difficult and it become a a massive burden for him.

However, a person possessing hope, knows that after the lengthy dark night, Allah ta'ala will definitely give the morning. He knows the sun will rise in the morning so then to pass the long night won't be difficult for him at all. He will endure problems because he knows morning will come and this faith in Allah is acquired through taqwa.

If a person doesn't have taqwa in him, he wont possess the light of hope and will find it difficult to live his life.

Hope is what takes a person through life and if any issues arises, he is assured that after hardship comes ease.

If we look at the lives of the blessed Awliiyah Allah and the pious predecessors, they had problems in thier lives but despite that, they were stuck to Allah's side and were always looking out for Allah's instruction. They knew Allah ta'ala is the only one who will elimanate the temporary problems.

Allah ta'ala has put the cure of eradicating despair and increasing hope within fasting.

When a person has hope, he can map out the route ahead, but if he doesn't and he says "it's just night and will be night all the time and morning won't come," (the darkness won't end), then his life becomes difficult.

What a beautiful example of the jail Nabi ﷺ gave.

A prisoner lives based on 1 hope. He perseveres through difficulties and beatings and he endures hard labour and tasks but he has a hope in jail as he knows that after 10 or 30 years his sentence will end and he will be released!

A believers lifestyle is like being imprisoned in this world.
All the problems Allah gives him are to elevate his rank. Hence, he sees the light at the end of the tunnel. He has hope that one day eventually I'll be released from this world and this test will end and this hope is what drives a believer and this is called taqwa.

How a believers life equates to fasting:

A believer's life is full of hurdles, difficulties and obstacles. Obviously the fast also holds difficulties such as extreme heat and it results in parched tongues. Etc

So a person endures and passes this fast with the hope that sunset will come and he can break his fast and his thirst will become quenched.

So when a fasting person passes his day with this hope then this becomes the example for a believer for the rest of his life. It teaches him that if you can pass the day like this without despair and with hope whilst enduring struggle, then he can also endure the trials of life. (With ease)
This is the message of taqwa that fasting delivers. Taqwa teaches us to establish our life based on Allah's orders just like when we are fasting we are capable of drinking water, but we refrain from doing so out of adhering Allah's orders.

In the same way we should stand firm in life according to all the orders of halal and haram. We should persevere the difficulties just like the fasting person observes the extreme heat on the hope that the fast will break very soon. The same hope drives a believer.

2 joys for a believer at the time of breaking the fast:

1) when you drink cool water and it gives you satisfaction and happiness.
So it extinguishes one's thirst and a beautiful happiness generates in his heart at that time.
2) when he will meet Allah.

If he stays steadfast and establishes his life on hope and preservance, he will get a great reward from Allah Ta'ala.

If you keep the fast of life with taqwa using the same test and experience then a great happiness will come for a muttaqi because the day of the fast is likened to the length of his life.
The whole Quran is filled with the glad tidings and the scenes of jannah for the muttaqi.

May Allah ta'ala make us complete Muttaqi. Ameen
