Having belief in the hereafter is the root of the deen and part of imaan.
To have yaqeen is having certainty in the hereafter - acknowledging one will die and be presented in the court of Allah and have his deeds reckoned.
No deed, even equivalent to an atom's worth, will be concealed and the Angel's (Kiraaman Kaatibeen) will present our records.
We will be standing before Allah ta'ala either as criminals or successful ones.
There will be no need to present forth witnesses as our own bodies, our hair and cells will be given unique life. They will tesify either for or against us and all of this is part of our belief in the hereafter.

Allah ta'ala Himself will hear and see all the witness statements so how will we be able to reject when our own body limbs will tetsify to Allah ta'ala?

Allah ta'ala doesn't even require these witnesses but this is to demonstrate to man that he would hide and sin in the dunya despite knowing he would die and his deeds would be presented to Allah. This was a relection of his imaan.

Now this Aqeedah, (belief) plays a very important role in a persons life. A human's deeds are according to his mindset.
If it is correct, it takes him to the right path.
However our belief is, accordingly our thinking will be and according to that, our practice will be.

وبالآخرة هم يوقنون

Those who have strong belief in the Hereafter are the Muttaqi.

But there are 2 things here:
1) to know and 2) to have certainty

Every person with iman accepts, but to accept and know [with yaqeen} are 2 different things.

Both of thier directions in life are different.
In this verse Allah talks about having conviction.

For eg: if it's raining outside and you tell someone its raining outside and he accepts that it is indeed raining but he goes out without an umbrella and gets wet. On the other hand, you inform another person of the same thing, he knows and has conviction in this (knowledge), so he keeps the umbrella with himself and saves himself from the rain.

There are 2 groups of people with imaan:

1) one who accepts.
for e.g, he accepts he is going to die but his deeds don't reflect his acceptance.

2) One who has conviction that he will be presented to Allah ta'ala and be accounted for his deeds and he has concern for the Akhirah. Hence, he worries about all his actions.

So this persons deeds will be different as they will be based on Taqwa and he will excersise each of his deeds with caution. If he makes a mistake, he will make up for it. He will do taubah and he will present shariah before himself when performing any action. This is the life of taqwa.
When his aqeedah of akhirah increases, then proportionately, the actions of his life will change.
However, the one who just accepts verbally and says, "yes i will go to the akhirah" but doesnt have yaqeen, (he is the opposite.)

If our belief in the hereafter is strong and based on yaqeen, then we may become a Muttaqi.

Fasting refreshes every part of one's deen and faith when a believer performs the fast correctly, being obedient to Allah and without merely fasting habitually.
Such a person attains the objective of fasting which is the aqidah of the hereafter and the soul of this belief runs through Ramadan.

The 1st step of being a muttaqi is that his belief in the akhirah is strong. Aqidah in the akhirah is an important element of taqwa and fasting helps us to achieve this.

The basis of Fasting is that we should develop our yaqeen in Allah ta'ala and the akhirah that our deeds will be reckoned for.

Allah ta'ala Himself is the reward for fasting meaning - according to His preference, He will reward us for fasting and on this basis and belief a person fasts.

Fast will propell your acceptance to taqwa heights.

The population of the those who fast are many more over those who pray because Allah ta'ala has kept an attraction for the worship of fasting even if the person himself is weak. Very few wasteful people don't fast, but majority do fast even though it is a difficult deed.

When our yaqeen and taqwa increases, our consciousness should be awakened. Thus, we should spend our entire lives in Allah ta'ala's obedience.
After Allah ta'ala brings us to this level, the rest is our job even outside Ramadan. We need to keep this sustained forever and be grateful to Allah by obeying him throughout our lives not just in Ramadan. Just as we acknowledge during ramadan that we cannot break a fast and disobey Allah, we should have the same mindset throughout our lives when performing any deed.

MAY Allah Ta'ala grant us the taufeeq! Ameen
