Allah swt gives us Ramadan to become a Muttaqi.

If I gave you a pen and told you to write with it, you'd understand the objective - which is to write with it.

If I gave you a car and told you to travel with it to your office, you'd understand its objective is to drive. The quality of a car is that it enables one to drive. The quality of a pen is that it enables one to write. So likewise Allah gives us Ramadan to enable us to become mutaqi.

Allah has given us fasting and within it are qualities which may make us a Muttaqi.

If I give you a car and told you to utilize it then definitely the car has the capability that you can travel with it.

If I give you milk and told you to make yogurt with it, you cant see the yogurt present at the time, but you are aware that the milk has the capacity through procedures, to be transformed into yogurt.

So in this way fasting has the full capacity to make you a Muttaqi. In fact each fast in Ramadan carries this capacity which means we should be a great Muttaqi when Ramadan ends.
This is guaranteed by Allah.
Allah has placed much honour and dignity within fasting. There is a hadith that says ; whoever fasts with imaan and anticipating reward from Allah all his sins are forgiven and he becomes a Muttaqi!

2 things one may attain from fasting
1) Reward & 2) taqwa

Alot of people fast but they dont have imaan (non muslims) so it only serves as dieting (hunger/thirst) for them.
This worship is beloved to Allah because through it a person becomes a Muttaqi.
And a mutaqi is beloved to Allah and without having taqwa one cannot enter paradise or become a friend of Allah.

The fragrance that emits from the mouth of a fasting person is more beloved to Allah than musk.
This is a sign of Allahs love for the Muttaqi, not just because he fasted but because he adopted taqwa through fasting!

We all naturally avoid the smell of odor but here it is beloved to Allah! SubhaanAllah

One who adopts taqwa through fasting achieves Allah's Wilaayat/friendship. When such a person is close to breaking his fast the angels make dua for his forgiveness.

Everyday Allah prepares and decorates Jannah for the fasting person.
Its similar to an example where :
If a naturally beautiful woman applies make up, it adds to her beauty.
So jannah is already so beautiful so just imagine its further adornment!

Fast Is guaranteed to grant you taqwa but Not every fasting person becomes a Muttaqi. Such a persons emotions do not change and the candle of taqwa does not flicker within him although he has "kept" the fast.
Nabi ﷺ was passing through a place and there were 2 people sitting. It was ramadan and they were fasting. He ﷺ went close to them and one was backbiting and the other was listening to it. Nabi ﷺ said "listen both of you, your fasts are broken and haven't been accepted." (Your fast has been annulled due to your sin)

So which fast provides taqwa and all the above mentioned virtues for a fasting person?

That fasting person who's tongue and eyes and hands and feet and stomach and thoughts all fast with him. When he intends to fast in the morning he fasts completely with his entire body promising that he will not commit a sin with each body part.
The tongue is the root cause of most people entering Jahannam.

We can only attain taqwa and fast correctly once our fasting is a pure fast.

If I gave you contaminated or diluted milk and told you to make cheese out of it, it wont produce cheese. But if it was pure it would of course produce cheese.

In the same way, if you are fasting, but not purely, (incorrectly) it won't make you a Muttaqi until you abstain from sin completely throughout fasting.

In reality, 1 single fast holds the capacity to grant you taqwa and make you a wali. A single fast may give you the high status of wilaayat - But if it is the correct fast!

If one partakes in suhoor with haraam food and breaks the fast likewise, is his fast truly complete? One cannot attain taqwa in this manner.

All acts of worships will only be accepted with the condition of taqwa.
So Allah gives us 30 days with the means of fasting to help us achieve taqwa.

When we intend for fasting in the morning we should also make a true promise not to become angry, backbite, lie, dispute and protect our gaze.

We use our eyes to watch different scenes whilst fasting but this isnt fasting, it is deception.

May Allah swt make us beloved to him and help us to achieve true fasting with all its rewards. Ameen
