We should at least make an effort and tread the path towards Allah ta'ala. In return, He will grant us success in this world and the Hereafter. When we tread this path sincerely, Allah ta'ala Himself begins to love us.
How to Become the Beloved of Allah ta'ala?
إِنَّ خِيَارَ عِبَادِ اللَّهِ الَّذِينَ يُرَاعُونَ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ وَالنُّجُومَ وَالْأَظِلَّةَ لِذِكْرِ اللَّهِ
“Indeed, the best of the servants of Allah are those who observe the sun, the moon, the stars and the shadows for the remembrance of Allah.” [Mishkat Shareef]

He no longer becomes overly concerned with the losses and gains of this world. He relies upon Allah ta'ala and understands that the hurdles he encounters can become a means of increasing his love for Allah ta'ala.
The criteria for success for a believer is that whatever he faces, whether loss or gain in this world, he believes that it is ultimately beneficial for him and will assist him in attaining the love and pleasure of Allah ta'ala.

We should learn the dhikr of the heart and strive to make our hearts alive.
Whenever we are free during the day, we should perform Muraqabah. Through this, we can reach the level of Ihsaan.
When we see the levels and rewards acquired in the Hereafter because of the dhikr we performed in this world, we will regret that we did not perform even more dhikr during our worldly life.
We should assess, hour by hour, how much time we allocate towards dhikr during our day and how many hours we spend wasting our time.
We should assess whether our actions were performed to benefit this world or the Hereafter. It is a shame that many of our actions do not even benefit us in this world. Then how can we expect our hearts to become attached to Allah ta'ala?
If we make this reflection a habit every night, it can become a means of attaining the rank of a WaliAllah.
We are not required to perform lengthy acts of worship throughout the entire night in order to become a WaliAllah. Rather, even if we perform one Sunnah act, we can be granted immense reward.
What do we lose by wearing the Imamah Shareef? What do we lose by eating and drinking according to the Sunnah?
These actions can grant us tremendous rewards, but Shaytan makes us believe that unless we perform great lengthy acts of worship, we cannot become a friend of Allah ta'ala.
This is one of the deceptions of Shaytan.
When we perform sincere repentance, Allah ta'ala, out of His immense mercy, can transform the years we have wasted into good deeds.
It is a shame that on the day of Eid Milad un Nabi, we become occupied with traditions and customs. We create divisions amongst ourselves and put one another down. We even perform actions that are against the Shariah whilst celebrating.
We should commemorate the life of the Prophet ﷺ and remember him during this month by keeping fasts, repenting and giving in charity.
We should promise Allah ta'ala that we will live our lives according to His teachings and the teachings of the Prophet ﷺ.
If we truly love Allah ta'ala, we will perform dhikr. This will purify our hearts and allow us to develop genuine love for the Prophet ﷺ and emulate his ways.
We should learn dhikr from a Sheikh and perform it in abundance so that we do not regret our negligence in the Hereafter.
We should perform Muraqabah at all times. We should constantly direct our attention towards our hearts while remaining physically occupied with our worldly duties.
Allah ta'ala desires our attention to remain directed towards Him constantly, and this is Muraqabah.
Dhikr is what grants us solutions to our difficulties and removes our sorrows and distress.
May Allah ta'ala allow us to implement these precious pearls of wisdom. Ameen.
