We do not want to regret our actions in the Hereafter, so we should make the most of our time now. The objective of these gatherings which we attend is to remove the love of the world from our hearts and develop concern for the Hereafter.
Those who attend these gatherings are fortunate. We should make a sincere intention to practise what we hear, because implementing what we learn is the most important thing. It does not matter how much knowledge a person has acquired; it is putting that knowledge into practice that will ultimately lead to success.
We should overcome our negligence and laziness whilst we still have the opportunity to earn for the Hereafter.
"Verily, Satan has an influence on the son of Adam, and the angel has an influence. As for the influence of Satan, he promises evil and denies the truth. As for the influence of the angel, he promises goodness and affirms the truth. Whoever finds the goodness, let him know that it is from Allah and let him praise Allah. Whoever finds the other, let him seek refuge in Allah from Satan the accursed." [Tirmidhi Shareef]
Shaytan is our enemy, while the angels are our friends, so it is up to us whom we choose to embrace.
Shaytan is the one who influences us with evil thoughts and inclinations in our hearts. When he injects these thoughts into a person, the believer can develop negative thoughts and inclinations. He may continue to worship Allah ta'ala, yet at the same time commit various sins and become heedless of death.
On the other hand, when the influence of the angels overwhelms a person, they will not lead him towards wrongdoing. Rather, the believer will develop the fear of Allah ta'ala within his heart, and the angels will encourage him towards deeds which will make him beloved to Allah ta'ala.
Why does Shaytan overwhelm the heart?
When a person performs Dhikr, Shaytan flees from that individual and his family of Shayateen become disturbed. Dhikr destroys the influence of the Shayateen.
Thus, Dhikr is a great gift. If a person becomes habitual in Dhikr, Shaytan flees from him. However, if he abandons Dhikr, Shaytan returns to influence him.
In reality, we should never leave Dhikr, even for a second, and we should not allow Shaytan to enter our hearts even for a moment.
It should not be difficult for a Muslim who possesses Imaan to pray and obey the laws of Allah ta'ala. It is an unbelievable thought that a believer struggles to wake up for prayer and to implement the Sunnah. The reason for this failure to obey is a lack of Taqwa.
There is no difference between us and the non-Muslims if we imitate them and disobey Allah ta'ala.
It is impossible for a believer to possess true belief yet be devoid of love for the Prophet ﷺ. This is a great sickness.
Prayer does not itself signify piety; rather, prayer is a duty upon us. We should be thankful to Allah ta'ala for granting us the ability to pray, because without His assistance, we cannot be obedient and grateful slaves of His.
Those who commit Haraam have Jinns embedded within them. They have befriended the Jinn and may not even realise it. They commit the same sins as the Shayateen, and the Shayateen influence them to become persistent in sin.
Those children who commit wrongdoing and are disobedient to their parents have been overtaken by Shaytan. As the child's age increases, the family of Shayateen increases within him and accompanies him wherever he goes.
We should not be fooled into thinking that if we are praying, reciting the Qur'an and performing Dhikr, there can be no Jinn present within us. Rather, this may be a means through which Shaytan is deceiving a person.
How does a person know that he has a Jinn within him and that he is being controlled and influenced by a Jinn?
It does not mean that if a person is performing good deeds, praying or reciting the Qur'an, he is automatically safe from the influence of the Shayateen. Rather, the sign is whether a person is a Muttaqi or not. If you are not a Muttaqi, then you certainly have a Jinn within you and are being influenced by the Jinn.
Only with Taqwa are a person's deeds and prayers accepted, and only then is he granted reward for them.
Hadhrat Abū Hurayrah رضي الله عنه was a Companion who was devoted to the Prophet ﷺ and remained closely attached to him. He had great love and passion for collecting Ahadith. He narrated more Ahadith than any other individual Companion.
Hadhrat Abū Hurayrah رضي الله عنه said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“Who will take these words from me and act upon them, or teach them to someone who will act upon them?”
Hadhrat Abū Hurayrah رضي الله عنه said: “I said, ‘I will, O Messenger of Allah.’”
So he ﷺ took me by the hand and counted five, saying:
“Avoid the things Allah has prohibited, and you will be the most worshipful of people..." [Tirmidhi Shareef]
Thereafter, the Prophet ﷺ said that Paradise is for the Muttaqeen, the God-fearing.
مَّثَلُ ٱلْجَنَّةِ ٱلَّتِى وُعِدَ ٱلْمُتَّقُونَ ۖ
"The description of the Paradise promised to the righteous..." [47:15]

This is the condition for our good deeds. Possessing Taqwa is the soul of all worship. Without Taqwa, our other actions cannot be accepted in the Court of Allah ta'ala. Without Taqwa, a person cannot enter Paradise.
If we accept the words of the Prophet ﷺ in the same way, then we are true followers of the Prophet ﷺ and truly deserving of Paradise.
We are living in a difficult era, so even our weak attempts are greatly appreciated by Allah ta'ala.
We should have complete conviction in the Ahadith: if we practise upon them, Allah ta'ala will certainly grant us their reward.
We should never be afraid to practise the Deen. It is Allah ta'ala who enables us to practise, and He desires to see our determination and sincerity. We should have passion and sincere intention, and thereafter Allah ta'ala will enable us to practise and grant us the cure.
We should safeguard ourselves from all unlawful actions. In return, we will become among the greatest worshippers and the greatest Muttaqeen. This is the door to success which we must implement.
Our main focus should be to save ourselves from sins. A person who does not save himself from sins yet continues to worship is gaining nothing, and he has Jinns embedded within him.
We often use our thoughts to plan worldly objectives, such as earning wealth and acquiring luxuries, and our lives become centred around these thoughts. Instead, we should shun these thoughts and redirect our minds towards Muraqabah and earning for the Hereafter.
The connection with Allah ta'ala is the greatest connection, and it takes a person to a very high level. Muraqabah refers to positive contemplation regarding the Hereafter.
By merely imagining our presence in Madinah Shareef, our imagination can become a means through which we experience it spiritually. This is how we can take ourselves to Madinah Shareef. Through our thoughts and imagination, we can bring the beauty of Madinah Shareef before our minds. Thus, our imagination and thought process are very powerful tools.
Muraqabah is a form of Dhikr whereby a person contemplates upon the Mashaikh and their spiritual blessings from Allah ta'ala. This is why a person feels a strong connection with Allah ta'ala as a result, and the heart begins to testify to the Deen.
This is our target: to become close to Allah ta'ala.
We fail to achieve this because our thoughts are focused upon worldly matters, fighting and disputes. If we focus upon Muraqabah instead, it will be far more beneficial for us.
"As for those who believe and do good, the Most Compassionate will ˹certainly˺ bless them with ˹genuine˺ love." [19:96]
وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ
This refers to fulfilling the orders of Allah ta'ala and abstaining from what He has prohibited. The reward for this is that Allah ta'ala will grant you His love, and you will begin to love Allah ta'ala. Additionally, the entire universe will begin to love you.
May Allah ta'ala allow us to implement these precious pearls of wisdom. Ameen.
