Fajr Dhikr Majlis Bradford

Our success in this world and in the Hereafter lies in practising the Deen correctly. Worship is not a burden upon us; rather, performing good deeds brings reward, not punishment.

After faith, the most important obligation is to perform Salah on time and in the masjid. This is why Masaajid have been established everywhere. It is essential to pray in the masjid without a valid excuse.

We often worry about our children’s jobs, status, and future, and we make extensive plans for their education and worldly success. This is common, but in reality, the first thing we should be concerned about is our child’s Deen. Every provision and blessing comes after practising the Deen.

We should develop love for the masjid, serve the masjid, attach ourselves to the masjid, and fulfil our prayers there. In the Ahadith, it is mentioned that a person who lives in this way gives testimony that he possesses faith.

Allah ta'ala granted us faith without compulsion. After this, Allah ta'ala has placed upon us the responsibility to preserve and protect our faith through our deeds.

Parents must understand that they are completely responsible for raising their children with an Islamic upbringing. If we fail in this duty, our children may go beyond our control and become inclined towards other cultures and wrongdoing. These are forms of punishment and tests from Allah ta'ala.

It is not sufficient to make your child an Aalim or a Haafidh and expect that alone to make him a good person. Rather, the greatest quality is good manners. For good manners, you do not need wealth, nor do you need to enrol in a Darul Uloom. A child learns manners from his parents. He learns truthfulness from the conduct and manners of his parents. He learns by observing.
Becoming an Aalim is not compulsory. However, it is compulsory for a person to learn Salah, fulfil his prayers, and attain good manners.

We should be concerned about our own prayers, and the prayers of our families and children. We should endure the hardships that come in this path, even if it means migrating for the sake of our children’s Deen.

We often migrate for a better quality of life and to earn more wealth. However, there is only one Lord, and Allah ta'ala will provide the same sustenance no matter where we reside. Therefore, we should not worry excessively about wealth, as more money may even become harmful for us. Rather, we should be concerned about where we will be able to practise the Deen properly. We must protect our Deen and take this matter seriously.

More important than performing good deeds is protecting oneself from what Allah ta'ala has prohibited. We must teach our children this as well and be firm upon it.

As for doubtful matters, we should avoid them too and not overlook mistakes by assuming they are small.

The life of a Muslim is one of sacrifice — sacrificing time, life, and wealth. In return, we will receive enjoyment in the Hereafter. A person will be granted Paradise, and his needs will be fulfilled without him even asking for them.
When a person sees his rewards in Paradise, he will forget all the tests and hardships he faced in this world. This worldly life is only a limited number of days, so we must keep the reality of sacrifice in front of us.

We should abandon our desires when they arise in our hearts, and we should recite Surah Rahman to remind ourselves of the rewards of Paradise, which will satisfy us.

Allah ta'ala is Most Merciful. To make hardships easy for us, and to make Salah and abstinence from Haraam easy, Allah ta'ala has granted us Dhikr.

The person of greatest wisdom is the one who holds firmly onto Dhikr. It is unfortunate that we compare success only to material possessions and worldly achievements.

Dhikr is a blessing from Allah ta'ala upon us. It is not a burden or punishment to travel far to attend a gathering of Dhikr. The soul feels overjoyed when visiting the company of a pious person.

The soul becomes a companion to the physical body. If the individual is a good person, the soul shows him good dreams and grants tranquillity. With every good deed we perform, we are benefitting our soul. If a person is righteous, the soul prays for him and does not forget its connection with him. If he is evil, the soul is relieved to have left him behind.

The more a person engages in Dhikr, the more benefit he receives from it. We should feed our children Halal food and protect them from Haraam, so that they may become pure like angels and become a treasure for us.

It is a great blessing to earn the intercession of a pious person by sitting in his company and serving him. Through this, a person receives great rewards in the Hereafter.

To attain the company of a Sheikh has become very easy in our time. We can now join gatherings through online streaming. Our connection and communication have also been maintained through filling in the tazkiyah sheets daily. Women and children can also complete these sheets. We should remain sincere in this path.

Without practising the Sunnah, a person cannot be successful in practising the Deen. He may perform many acts of worship, but if he does not obey the Prophet ﷺ and follow the Sunnah, he will not attain success. The mercy of Allah ta'ala is all-encompassing.

We should follow the Sunnah in every aspect of our lives. Many Muslims have neglected this part of the Deen. A person must fulfil the five pillars of Islam and practise the Sunnah in order to be deserving of the mercy of Allah ta'ala.

By performing Dhikr, a person finds it easier to implement the Sunnah. We should regularly assess whether we are implementing the Sunnah in every aspect of our lives. We should reflect upon our conduct, the way we treat our loved ones, our honesty, our business dealings, and our behaviour in general. We must abandon earning Haraam, otherwise it will spoil everything.

The beauty of a believer is that he believes without seeing. We should believe in and understand the wisdom behind the speech and guidance of the Wali of Allah ta'ala, if we consider them pious. If they tell us that something is a punishment for abandoning the Sunnah, we should accept it.

We may be witnessing turmoil in the world today. However, there is only one thing that can save us, and that is our connection with Allah ta'ala.

We should build a connection with a Wali of Allah ta'ala, and in return it will become easier for us to practise our Deen.

We should make the intention to leave wrongdoing immediately, without delay. We should abandon all unlawful and doubtful actions. We should make the Prophet ﷺ our role model in every aspect of life, and if we make a mistake, we should repent.

We should engage in Dhikr abundantly and strengthen our relationship with our Sheikh. This is the correct and blessed pattern of life to adopt.

May Allah ta'ala grant us the ability to implement these precious pearls of wisdom. Ameen.
