Jewels of Ramadhan 2026- Episode 13

أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا كُتِبَ عَ
لَ for you—as it was for those before you—so perhaps you will become mindful (of Allah.) [2:183]

Our target of Ramadan is to achieve Taqwa and we should focus completely upon this objective. Thirty days are very less to achieve a great target like this. In reality, a person is required to work hard throughout his entire life to attain Taqwa.

Two things prevent us from becoming a Muttaqi. One is our base desires and one is Shaytan. They are our strongest enemies and the main hindrance to attaining Taqwa. Our inner self is the root of desires and inclination to evil.

Allah ta'ala desires that we work hard and in return, He will assist us. To make it easier to obtain Taqwa during t
hese days, Allah ta'ala has granted us certain deeds for our assistance. He has imprisoned Shaytan and to weaken and destroy our desires, Allah ta'ala has kept us hungry and forbidden us from advancing towards our spouses.

How to attain Taqwa?
Allah ta'ala has granted two things which enable a person to achieve Taqwa. One, is to fight against our Nafs, which we are already performing through the act of fasting.

Fasting alone, does not grant a person Taqwa, so the second thing is, Tazkiyah - to purify our inner state. We should take hold of both things during this month.

So, to achieve Taqwa, we must fast and attain Tazkiyah. Whoever achieves both, is travelling upon the right path towards his objective.

We engage in various acts of worship, however, we fail to assess our inner self. If our inner self remains impure,
then our worship will not benefit us.

Allah ta'ala has granted us Dhikr to develop our inner selves. By simply keeping fasts, it is difficult to achieve Taqwa. Through fasting, our desires may become controlled, however, our inner state remains impure. Thus, to purify ourselves we are required to perform abundant Dhikr during Ramadan.

In a Hadith, Hadhrat Umar رضي الله عنه mentions that if a person is habitual in performing Dhikr during Ramadan, he receives immense forgiveness from Allah ta'ala.

We should strive hard to achieve this, but we should not become overly worried about whether we ultimately reach our goal. Allah ta'ala recognizes our daily efforts and rewards us according to them.

When we exert our efforts, we should not think that becoming a Muttaqi is beyond our reach. On the day of Eid, Allah ta‘ala will announce that those who strove sincerely, will certainly be forgiven. We may not attain the rank of a Muttaqi so quickly within these thirty days. However, when a person stri
ves to purify his inner self by abstaining from sins and engaging in dhikr, Allah ta‘ala appreciates his efforts and, out of His immense mercy, grants him the status of a Muttaqi.

Allah ta'ala does not grant Paradise upon any specific action. Rather, He desires to see our efforts.

If we observe fasting, recite the Quran, perform our prayers, engage in abundant dhikr, and attend gatherings of remembrance in the company of our Sheikh, then this is indeed a great achievement during this blessed month.

We should take advantage of the blessed Khankah and the company of the AwliyahAllah and seek to purify ourselves through their company.
It is truly unfortunate for a person to deprive himself of a Dhikr gathering merely due to laziness.

Ramadan is flying by. We should be grateful to Allah ta'ala and try to attain Tazkiyah, dhikr and adhere to the Dhikr gatherings. Such a person will be granted the title of Muttaqi on eid day. The angels will congratulate these people.

Ramadan is passing by quickly.
We should be grateful to Allah ta‘ala and strive to attain tazkiyah, engage in abundant dhikr, and remain steadfast upon the gatherings of Dhikr. Such people will be granted the rank of a Muttaqi on the day of Eid, and the angels will congratulate them.

In reality, we do not deserve forgiveness nor do we perform the deeds which earn forgiveness, yet out of Allah ta'ala's mercy, He forgives us.

We should at least try and we should avoid Dunyawi actions which cause us to become lazy. Priority should be granted to those actions which will make us a Muttaqi.

We should seek to reduce worldly actions and increase actions for the Hereafter.

May Allah ta'ala allow us to implement these precious pearls. Ameen
