We are praising Allah ta'ala through His beloved Kalimaat which He loves. God-willing, they will bear witness for us in the Hereafter. They will bear testimony in the court of Allah ta'ala regarding those individuals who were praising Allah ta'ala during the sunrise of Ramadan.
One pious elder stated, that it is not a great achievement that I am remembering Allah ta'ala. Rather, what is greater, is that He is remembering me!
During this morning, Allah ta'ala is remembering us which makes Dhikr such a great action. Allah ta'ala is not in need of our Dhikr, however, it is a great reward for the Dhaakir that He has been given the ability to remember Allah ta'ala and in return, Allah ta'ala remembers him.
The existence of the entire creation is based upon the remembrance of Allah ta'ala. Having said that, the creatures have not been given the honour to be remembered by Allah ta'ala in return for their Dhikr. It is only Mankind that has been granted this honour.
Why are we granted this reward?
The universe praises Allah ta'ala without any prevention. On the other hand, Mankind faces many obstacles and hurdles along the path of remembering Allah ta'ala and attending the Dhikr gatherings.
For example, the Dhaakir willingly sacrifices his tiredness and sleep for the sake of remembering Allah ta'ala.
Thus, the act of sacrificing everything in the world for the sake of remembering Allah ta'ala and praising Him, is an act which is very much valued by Allah ta'ala.
When a person destroys his evil desires, shuns his sins and sits in His remembrance solely for the sake of Allah ta'ala's love, then will he not earn the love of Allah ta'ala in return? He certainly will. For this reason, it has been stated that if we desire to increase the love for Allah ta'ala, then the only method, is through remembering Him.
The beloved never requests the lover for a meeting. Rather, the lover himself advances to meet his beloved. Similarly, it is due to our love for Allah ta'ala that we remember Him.
It is mentioned in Hadith that if you see a person who remembers Allah ta'ala, then one should bear witness that such an individual loves Allah ta'ala.
The entire creation witnesses the Dhikr of the Dhaakireen and in the Hereafter, they will bear testimony that these people remembered Allah ta'ala and they loved Him.
Loving Dhikr means that a person loves Allah ta'ala.
