Jewels of Ramadhan 2026- Episode 8

If a person attains forgiveness and engages in Dhikr, then he has grasped the true essence of Ramadan. These two acts are sufficient for a person, as they are the main reasons Allah ta’ala has granted us this blessed month. In reality, one is not necessarily required to perform excessive voluntary worship, especially if he does not have the time. Many of us perform various forms of worship but neglect the two most important acts - repentance and Dhikr.

Allah ta'ala has arranged this month to save the sinners. If we repent via Bay'ah with a Sheikh, then all our other acts of worship will become beneficial for us. This is because our inner state must be purified before we engage in acts of worship. If we fail to repent, our worship will go to waste.

Dhikr becomes even more valuable in Ramadan, so we should spend as much time as possible engaged in Dhikr during this blessed month.

It was narrated by Hadhrat Anas ibn Mālikرضي الله عنه that Nabi ﷺ said, "That I sit with people remembering Allah from 'Asr until the sun sets is more beloved to me than freeing four slaves from amongst the Children of Ismāʿīl".[Abu Dawud Shareef]

This is the true value of Dhikr. Just imagine the reward we will receive for attending such a blessed gathering! If a person makes sacrifices to attend, he may experience some worldly loss in business or work, but by dedicating this time to the gathering, he will earn immense rewards and blessings. Even women who join online and dedicate this time to Dhikr gatherings are also included in this great reward.

We should make as many sacrifices as we can, as it is ultimately for our own benefit. Everything in this world will eventually perish, so we should make the most of this opportunity while we can.

There are two types of individuals. One who utilises every moment of Ramadan for the sake of His Hereafter. The other, is he who has not changed himself at all during Ramadan and fasting is a very difficult act for him. He wastes his time engaged in Dunya even throughout his fast.

Perhaps we may not live to witness another Ramadan, so we should make the most of these gatherings. We should thank Allah ta’ala for granting us the opportunity to attend and benefit from them.

May Allah ta'ala allow us to implement these precious pearls. Ameen
