Jewels of Ramadhan 2026- Episode 3

This is the blessed month of mercy and countless blessings. Allah ta'ala has placed immense rewards in every single moment of Ramadan.

Participating in gatherings of Dhikr is a means of attaining mercy and blessings from Allah ta‘ala. The moments before breaking the fast are especially precious, as they are times when Allah ta‘ala readily accepts the supplications of His servants.

Dhikr is the soul of every act of worship. Without the remembrance of Allah, a deed holds little benefit. Prayer, recitation of the Quran, and even Hajj, are all rooted in Dhikr. The ultimate purpose of every action is to remember Allah ta‘ala.

Our worship is strengthened and brought to life through Dhikr. It is incorrect for a person to claim that because he performs Salah and recites the Quran, he no longer needs to engage in Dhikr. In reality, all worship is perfected through the Dhikr of Allah ta'ala.

Our limbs are able to function due to the existence of the soul within our body and the nourishment of the soul is the Dhikr of Allah ta'ala.

It is for this reason that the one who remembers Allah ta‘ala is compared to a living person, while the one who neglects His remembrance is likened to the dead. The true objective of our lives is to revive our souls, for when the soul is alive, we are able to live as true human beings. When the soul is refreshed and strengthened through Dhikr, we attain the spiritual strength for which we were sent into this world.

If we deprive our body of food and drink, we will become weak, unable to function and move our limbs due to a lack of strength. Furthermore, if our limbs do not function the way they ought to, then there is certainly some deficiency present within our body.
Similarly, our soul is not attached to this world, rather, it is connected to the Hereafter. It is unfortunate that we prioritise the needs of our physical bodies while neglecting the state of our souls. When we fall ill, our immediate concern is that we may be unable to attend work or fulfil our worldly responsibilities. This shows how deeply the Dunya has consumed us. Rarely do we worry that illness might prevent us from performing our Salah and fulfilling our duties to Allah ta'ala.

We deprive the soul of nourishment. We overlook the commands of Allah ta'ala claiming that they are not necessary and there are many groups formed claiming to prove that practice isn't necessary.

We deprive our souls of their true nourishment. We overlook the commands of Allah ta‘ala, convincing ourselves that they are not necessary. Various groups have also emerged attempting to justify the claim that practicing Islam the right way is unnecessary.

We must seek guidance and proof of practice from the Noble Companions, رضي الله عنهم. We should firmly adhere to the acts of the Sunnah. Even if a single companion demonstrates a practice, we should adopt it, for the companions never followed their own desires in matters of the Deen. They only practiced what they learned and witnessed directly from the Prophet ﷺ.

Today, we fail to practice properly because our souls are weak and we make excuses to justify our actions. No companion ever shaved their beard, so it is incorrect to claim that keeping a beard is unnecessary. Following the Sunnah fulfils the true purpose of our life - to attain the pleasure and closeness of Allah ta‘ala. Every Sunnah we observe, draws us nearer to Allah ta'ala and strengthens our connection with Him.

If we desire to become the beloved of Allah ta'ala, we must imitate the Prophet ﷺ. The more we implement the Sunnah, the closer we draw to Him.

The first three generations of Islam, the Prophet ﷺ, his Companions, and the two generations that followed, are the best generations. After them, we should not follow anyone who practices the Deen according to their own desires. Instead, we must follow those who act strictly according to the Shariah and the Sunnah.

To make the practice of Deen easy for us, Allah ta'ala created the four Fuqaha who provided us with guidance to follow. Their deep understanding of the Deen and their level of Taqwa is unique.

The books of Ahadith explain what the Prophet ﷺ encouraged us to do and forbade us from doing. If we fail to practice and reject what has been prescribed to us, then we are at fault. We have failed to feed our soul which is why our souls remain weak.

There is only one route to attain the love of Allah ta'ala and that is to imitate the Prophet ﷺ. Those who follow the Sunnah completely throughout their lives, lead a unique and distinguished way of life and their reward from Allah ta‘ala is equally unique.

To be connected with a Sheikh is a great blessing from Allah ta'ala. The objective of a teacher is to direct and guide a person to Allah ta'ala. The Sheikh guides us to the correct path, and therefore, connecting ourselves to a Sheikh is not an act of innovation. Rather, it is a means of seeking proper guidance and remaining firm upon the Sunnah.

We visit the company of a pious person in order to strengthen our faith and receive reminders from them. The teacher teaches the student Dhikr and thereafter, the love for the Deen increases within the student and he is enabled to imitate the Prophet ﷺ willingly.

It is a shame that in the company of those who teach the true Deen, we criticize them, label them as strict, or even accuse them of being extremists.
A person only gains hunger and thirst from his fast and is deprived of goodness if he fails to practice the Deen and abstain from sins alongside.

We should assess how much of the Deen we truly practice. Only when a person's soul is strengthened, he will be able to distinguish between truth and falsehood.

It is a praiseworthy act to acknowledge our own wrongdoing. If Allah ta‘ala grants us the ability, He will guide us to do good. However, if a person refuses to even admit their mistakes, then there is a deficiency within him and he will be deprived of righteousness.

By abstaining from food and drink and safeguarding ourselves from wrongdoing, we strengthen our souls through obedience to Allah ta‘ala. If we were to live in His obedience consistently throughout our lives, our souls would attain immense strength.

The true remedy for strengthening the soul is to participate regularly in the gatherings of Dhikr.

Nabi ﷺ stated, "When you pass by the meadows of Paradise, graze as you like.” They said, “What are the meadows of Paradise?” The Prophet said, “Circles of remembrance." [Tirmidhi Shareef]

When we perform Dhikr in the gathering of the Sheikh, our souls find joy and are strengthened. If we become lazy towards Dhikr and follow our own desires, then we will be deprived of guidance and will remain improper human beings.

We should be grateful to Allah ta‘ala for blessing us with a pious person to teach us Dhikr, in whose company our souls are nourished. It is through this mercy of Allah ta‘ala that we are guided, rectified and enabled to adopt good habits.

May Allah ta'ala enable us to partake in the Dhikr gatherings and include our children too. Ameen
