Why is Tazkiyyah Important? - Part 18
One may never attain blessings from Allah ta'ala whilst he is a sinner. A foolish person is he who anticipates blessings whilst he sins. Only if a person repents, he will receive blessings. Thus, we should purify our bodies and our homes from sins and await the blessings.
Blessings are attained through worshipping, however, our sins destroy those good deeds and destroy our worship. Shaytan has deceived us into thinking that we may continue worshipping and sinning alongside.
In reality, one sin invites further sins if they are not stopped. After sinning, a person should feel remorseful and shameful. If a person feels this way, Allah ta'ala will grant him elevation. If one does not feel remorse over his sins, then Shaytan will allow him to repeat the sin. If he misses one prayer, he will abandon another prayer with ease.
If Allah ta'ala allows us to perform a good deed, we must be grateful to Allah ta'ala and we should protect that deed by abstaining from sin. By sinning, the light from our worship is removed. If we succumb to our evil desires, we should immediately repent.
Allah ta'ala has selected us and desires to grant us His nearness. He does not allow everyone to listen to good advice. He grants it to those who possess the capacity within themselves to act upon the good.
Allah ta'ala selects the AwliyahAllah for the work of the Deen. If Allah ta'ala was to make his pious slaves aware of their status, they may become proud. Instead, the entire world will witness their reality in the Hereafter.
The Dhikr gathering is not a minor gathering. We should be grateful for these gatherings in which the angels also take part. Allah ta'ala connects us to the pious people and this is out of his great mercy upon us. He grants us these gatherings despite our sins as He desires to make us a WaliAllah.
Allah ta'ala selects those He loves for this gathering and trains them to become better individuals. Allah ta'ala could have caused us to be occupied in some sort of sin or wrongdoing this morning. Instead, He has selected us and enabled us to partake in this blessed dhikr gathering through which our sins are forgiven. He has elevated us to the rank of the AwliyahAllah and has enabled us to recite the Blessed Kalimaat which the Noble Messengers عليهم السلام recited.
A sinful person may attend this gathering, however, it does not matter how impure he is. Allah ta'ala desires to include the sinner amongst this goodness. He desires to elevate his rank. Though Allah ta'ala may not let him perceive his own rank, he has indeed reached it.
Therefore, we should not criticise the sinner who attends these gatherings. Rather, we should respect them even more because they have been selected by Allah ta'ala for this gathering.
All the Mashãikh of the Naqshbandi order pay attention to this gathering and we convey the Isaale Thawaab of the Kalimaat to them and in turn, they repay the favour to us.
Those who favoured the AwliyahAllah will be granted great intercession by them in the Hereafter. Thus, we should connect ourselves to the pious people and invite them for food to our homes.
It is unfortunate that we connect ourselves to worldly people and sinners for worldly motives.
If we make this world our criterion, we will be wretched and cursed in both worlds. On the other hand, the one who seeks Allah ta'ala and His Rasul ﷺ, will never lose out. Those in this world may consider him wretched, although he has been selected by Allah ta'ala.
True gratitude to Allah ta‘ala is to refrain from disobedience and sins. It is our sins that prevent us from attending the Dhikr gathering. If we are ungrateful for the Dhikr gatherings, then we are prevented from attending. If we are grateful, then Allah ta'ala eases our difficulties and those struggles we face at home and He removes our hurdles.
Allah ta'ala is nearer to us than our jugular vein. Thus, we should create a connection with Him. We should be thankful for His favours and in return, Allah ta'ala will continue elevating our status.
We should not feel hopeless over our sins. Rather, we should consider His favours upon us by enabling us to be in the company of the AwliyahAllah and the opportunity to take spiritual blessings from them.
We should not live under the pretence that if we are faced with calamities, then Allah ta'ala is unhappy with us. This is not the standard of Allah ta'ala. Rather, Allah ta'ala desires us to reach a certain rank through our difficulties.
Those who implement the Sunnah are closest to the Prophet ﷺ. Our standard should be to learn the Deen from those who embody the Sunnah in their lives, not merely from those who possess knowledge.
It is a shame that many scholars have graduated from Darul Uloom, yet have no awareness or understanding of the Sunnah. They abandon prayer. They do not practice the Deen and they are immersed in the love of the world.
Allah ta'ala is not dependent upon the scholars to spread the Deen. Allah ta'ala may spread the Deen through the illiterate, or the non-scholars. Often, they perform the genuine work of the Deen.
Those scholars who propagate the Deen whilst opposing the Sunnah, will receive a great punishment.
Allah ta'ala will question the scholars regarding the Deen they spread. Constructing mosques, arranging Khatam Quran and empty talk, does not refer to the work of the Deen. Rather, true propagation refers to imitating the Sunnah in every aspect of our lives, inwardly and outwardly.
The easiest way to propagate the Deen is to practically implement the Sunnah throughout our life. In such a way, one will be considered a true scholar even without attending a Darul Uloom.
The scholars who have connected themselves to a waliAllah have understood the truth.
My Hadhrat Sahib set the condition that I grant Bay‘ah only to those who promise to wear the Imaamah Shareef and follow the Sunnah, regardless of their sect or group.
They instructed me to announce to the people that they should seek the faiz which was granted to me. If one attains this faiz, his Deen and Dunya will be improved, he will attain the goodness of both worlds, Allah ta'ala and His Rasul ﷺ will be pleased with him and his heart will become illuminated. This is a guarantee which my Sheikh has mentioned. In other words, Paradise will be guaranteed for such a person.
Acquiring faiz refers to learning Dhikr. We should acquire it and spread the faiz amongst our children. We should spread the true knowledge which is the knowledge of the Sunnah. This is what we must encourage in our homes. Our children must be taught the Sunnah and we must serve as living examples for them. Only during working hours we are permitted to wear non-Sunnah attire.
We are not extremists for following the Sunnah. Rather, we should revive society through the implementation of the Deen, instead of conforming to fit in with its ways.
We should use our abilities and skills in the service of the Deen of Allah ta‘ala. It is our duty to apply our skills, while Allah ta‘ala remains in control of spreading the Deen.
Those who visit the Rawdah Mubarak with shaven beards and immodest clothing, are not proper believers. They oppose the Prophet ﷺ and they are the enemies of the Deen. They will rise as disbelievers in the Hereafter. We should in fact, avoid visiting in such a sinful state.
Rather, we should visit the blessed lands with the intention of improving our lives and upon returning, we must remain steadfast upon the promises we made. We should visit with passion and sincerity whilst sacrificing our desires.
We are only oppressing ourselves through our sins. We should repent via the intermediary of a waliAllah and earn the prayer of forgiveness from Nabi ﷺ in return. If we fail to repent, we will burn in Hellfire. After repenting, we should make a promise that we will live our lives according to the Sunnah.
The propagation of the Deen will never cease. No Prophet will come after Nabi ﷺ, yet the AwliyahAllah will continue to appear in this world until Qiyamah.
Islam is a religion of peace and true Muslims are not considered violent. We condemn and disassociate ourselves from the extremists and we respect the other places of worship.
A true Muslim is he who implements the Sunnah completely and he spreads peace and harmony. We should respect everyone regardless of their race and religion. We should not become an enemy to anyone. We should study and work, respect and follow the law of the land, and adapt ourselves to live harmoniously within society. We should pay the tax which is due upon us. We should not make false claims for benefits.
We are obliged to uphold the Deen while showing respect for the land and society we live in. We may enjoy ourselves, however, we should always be wary of the boundaries of Shariah. We should not compromise the Sunnah wherever we are. We should be a role model due to our implementation of the Sunnah.
When seeking a spouse, we should consider whether they practice the Deen and whether they will support one's Hereafter.
If we desire to marry someone righteous, then we should ask from Allah ta'ala and remain patient. Often, a person marries in haste and his children become misguided down the line.
If one is struggling to find a spouse, there is wisdom in this waiting. We should continue seeking patiently while remaining steadfast in Dhikr. Such a person will be granted the Hur in both worlds.
May Allah ta'ala allow us to implement these precious pearls. Ameen
