Why Is Tazkiyyah Important? Part 9

A person can only be rectified by a Sheikh if he considers his inner self impure.

The words, the company and the sight of a Sheikh, serve as a cure for a student. This is because spiritual diseases are eliminated from within a person through the company of his Sheikh.

The biggest hurdle for a person is knowledge, because it often prevents a person from self-rectification.

Allah ta'ala elevates the status of those scholars who visit the AwliyahAllah for their self-rectification, as their humility and simplicity are displayed through this act. This is why the Sheikh also appreciates the scholar who visits him. Such a scholar's Aqeedah will allow him to witness the vision of Allah ta'ala in the Hereafter. This is when he will realise what he has earnt in the Hereafter.
The scholars who are not sincere, visit the AwliyahAllah with the desire to earn titles and Khilafah.

اشهد ان لا اله الا الله واشهد ان محمدا عبده ورسوله

"I bear witness that there is no God but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad ﷺ is His slave and His Messenger."

As Muslims, we believe in Allah ta'ala without proof and we do not require proof in order to believe Him. One who departs this world reciting the Kalimah, is destined for Paradise, as he bears witness to the oneness of Allah ta'ala.

When performing voluntary worship, such as Ishraq or Tahajjud prayer, we must be cautious. The pious predecessors have not forbade us against performing these prayers. Rather, they advise one to avoid performing certain voluntary prayers in the Masjid for self-reformation purposes. One should perform these voluntary prayers at home, lest they create pride and ostentation within a person when performed in the presence of others. In this way, these actions will grant benefit to a person instead of loss.

It is bet
t may experience true pleasure and enjoyment from them.

Through Dhikr, a person's heart becomes strong and refreshed and his supplications are accepted too alongside.

The company of the Sheikh is the direct means of attaining the pleasure of Allah ta'ala. Thus, we must direct ourselves to the teacher and take guidance from him. We must value his company as it will benefit us at the time of death.

If one begins a voluntary action, he must be regular upon it. If one starts a voluntary action, such as a voluntary fasts and then he breaks it, he must compensate for it.

The student should not seek more lessons besides those lessons which have already been prescribed by the Sheikh. If he has been granted a small amount, he should remain consistent upon it without requesting for more than he can manage.

The lessons prescribed to the student contain immense benefit. If one is sincere and regular upon this small prescription, he will succeed through it. We should not compare our lessons with others as steadfastness gives a person the most benefit over performing lengthy prescriptions.

Steadfastness is the greatest achievement and carries more value. If a person has belief in something and he is consistent, he is granted the results. For example, one should remain consistent upon attending the Dhikr gathering and this is a great achievement.

We should appreciate our wives who encourages us towards Deen and the Dhikr gatherings.
It is a big test for a man who marries a woman for her beautiful looks and wealth, yet, she has poor belief. Such a marriage will soon end in divorce as the man married the woman for his desires.

Therefore, when seeking a wife for marriage, we should observe the woman's character as she will be the one raising the children in the future.

If a man marries for his own desires, then he only has himself to blame when his wife does not encourage him towards Deen. She may not permit him to take bay'ah and she may be the cause of his deviation. This is a source of punishment for the husband.

A man should be very cautious with whom he selects for marriage. If he marries for beauty, then soon this beauty will diminish. He will not be left wit
h Deen nor Dunya. However, if he fixates upon her character, he will love her even more due to her inner beauty.

He may marry a divorcee or a widow as long as she is religious. If she is a good wife, she will encourage her husband to attend the Masjid regularly and through her, the husband's love for his Sheikh will increase.

If your wife encourages you towards the Deen, then consider her an angel. If you become angry towards her, then you should swallow your anger and Allah ta'ala will appreciate it. If she connects you to Allah ta'ala, you should appreciate everything about her.

May Allah ta'ala allow us to implement these precious pearls of wisdom Ameen.
