Faraaidh deeds are compulsory which must be fulfilled without an excuse, whether we like it or not, otherwise, we will be punished. On the other hand, Dhikr is not a compulsory action and we will not be questioned for it, although it brings us immense benefit.
Allah ta'ala commanded us to begin our day by performing the prayer of Fajr. This is so that we may not become distracted by the world. It is a means of preparation for us before we are confronted by Nafs and Shaytan throughout our day. To spend our day successfully, it is our duty to avoid committing sins.
The objective of prayer is that it prevents one from sins. If we succumb to sin, our prayers will become wasted and we have not attained the objective, nor the light of our prayers.
Every action consists of a soul. If we fail to attain the essence of that deed, it becomes a wasted action.
Those who fail to attend the Masjid, every thing becomes unlawful for them and they become destined for punishment.
Allah ta'ala has granted us the action of Dhikr after Fajr prayer, so that we can be prevented from committing sins. Allah ta'ala desires to protect the light and reward of our prayer through dhikr.
The main purpose of worship is refraining from sin. In fact, to leave sin is more important than emphasising on worship. Thus, we should not consider our sins to be insignificant. If we are not safe from sins, then our deeds become wasted.
We make it a habit to perform worship in abundance believing that it will cause us to become pious. In reality, if we were to simply complete our Faraaidh and work towards preventing ourselves from sins, we will be successful.
Shaytan makes us complacent with our deeds. He inclines us towards sinning after performing worship, thinking that we will be forgiven due to our great worship.
Allah ta'ala has ordered us to perform Dhikr as it serves a protection from wrongdoing. Furthermore, Dhikr is a powerful support for our prayer. The light of dhikr protects us from sins and the impact of the Kalimaat are lasting.
A person who abandons prayer is at the banks of disbelief. He must be encouraged towards prayer and after that, he must save himself from sins via attending the Dhikr gatherings. In this way, his prayers will also be worthy of acceptance in the eyes of Allah ta'ala. Allah ta'ala becomes pleased with the efforts of such an individual.
Children and spouses are a test for us and there are boundaries with regards to the rights of our children and spouses. If we exceed these limits and commit excess, then we will become sinful and we will be punished.
Such examples are; making unreasonable demands to your wife or daughter in law, earning unlawfully for the sake of your children and loving your children excessively which causes you to overlook their duty of fulfilling prayers. Such a father will be granted the punishment.
The husband should not demand the wife to leave the home to earn a living. He should also be reminded that the rights of the wife and children prioritise the needs of the husbands parents. One will be questioned over suppressing the rights of his family whilst prioritising others.
If one has multiple wives, he must treat them equally and fairly.
It is a shame that we encourage our children to earning and accumulate masses of wealth, however, we are lazy and negligent towards directing them to the obligation of prayer.
We should encourage our sons and hasten them towards the Masjid for prayers and we should be stern with them if they are negligent, otherwise, we will be punished.
We are rewarded for our actions once our deeds are accepted in the court of Allah ta'ala. Deeds are accepted through His pleasure and the way to attain His pleasure is by refraining from sin.
Shaytan was a scholar and a worshipper, yet, he was unsuccessful. This shows one cannot attain success through these things. Rather, Shaytan did not possess the love for Allah ta'ala through which he would have obeyed Him.
Our day can either lead us to Hellfire or Paradise which is why preparation is important. Dhikr is the preparation granted by Allah ta'ala for our day and the cause of its blessings. Allah ta'ala desires our day to be peaceful and free from sin which is why He has commanded us to begin the day with prayer. We are weak individuals and prone to sin so, Allah ta'ala granted us further support which is the act of Dhikr. This is a powerful tool to protect us from sins. If we spend our morning in such a way, our day will be full of blessings and our worship will bring us benefit.
We should assess how much we saved ourselves from sins by completing the Tazkiyah Sheets daily. If we are successful in abstaining from sins, we should show gratitude to Allah ta'ala. If we succumb to sin, we must seek His repentance and promise to work harder the next day.
May Allah ta'ala allow us to implement these precious pearls. Ameen
