Allah ta'ala grants the believers tests in this world so that they may achieve a high rank in the Hereafter. Allah ta'ala tests our faith. The stronger our faith, the higher the rank we will attain in the Hereafter.
This world isn't a place of luxury and ease. This world is temporary, so we shouldn’t sacrifice our entire self for it and be overly concerned with it. Rather, we should be concerned with the Hereafter.
We all face problems in life, however, the believers are responsible for their own challenges and difficulties. It is our sins which create these circumstances of sorrow and distress. Our sins bring a sense of danger for our faith. We invite the problems ourselves through our actions.
We believe that lying will grant us temporary benefit, however, through lying we incur a great loss and punishment. When the believer lies, he face the consequences. Sometimes the lying doesn't impact us immediately, but after a while, it impacts our children. Thus, we should not consider sinning as insignificant.
"And whatever of affliction befalls you, it is for what your hands have earned; but He pardons much." [42:30]
Sins become a heavy burden for us. They eliminate ones faith, cause one's deed to be destroyed and take one to Hellfire.
Sins are the reason for discord, problems and disobedient children. Thus, when we face any type of loss or depression in our lives, we should look towards our sins.
We will certainly witness the impact of our sins and our rejection of the Sunnah during this life and in the Hereafter. Unfortunately, many of us commit further sins seeking to eliminate our problems.
One earns problems through his sins and then Shaytan weakens his faith. This is a punishment for him due to his sins. We may continue worshipping alongside, however, we will not attain peace and contentment.
When a person is surrounded by worldly difficulties, Shaytan weakens his connection with Allah ta'ala and he instils evil whispers within him. Consequently, his certainty in Allah ta'ala is weakened as he is distressed. A person then complains to Allah ta'ala indirectly or directly and he harbours doubts. He loses hope and becomes close to disbelief.
We must live our lives with extreme caution and according to the boundaries of Shariah if we desire to be successful in both worlds. If we wish to be safe from difficulties and problems, we must save ourselves from sins.
How can we be safe from problems?
We must learn from the lives of the Prophets. They did not sin. Allah ta'ala allowed the Prophets to demonstrate their personal examples as a message for the generations to come.
Hadhrat Ayyub عليه السلام worshipped Allah ta'ala out of love, however, Shaytan believed that he worshipped Allah ta'ala due to the prosperity and ease in his life. He requested Allah ta'ala to remove his luxuries so that he could deviate Hadhrat Ayyub عليه السلام.
Hadhrat Ayyub عليه السلام's luxuries were removed from him, yet, he accepted the decree of Allah ta'ala and he became occupied in worship. Shaytan burnt his house down and caused all his children to pass away however, his state did not change. Shaytan requested Allah ta'ala to grant Hadhrat Ayyub عليه السلام a physical illness in order to make him rebel. Hadhrat Ayyub عليه السلام suffered for eighteen years, however, Shaytan did not succeed.
After eighteen years of suffering, Hadhrat Ayyub عليه السلام turned to Allah ta'ala presenting his circumstance.
This is how Shaytan attacks a person and makes him doubt Allah ta'ala once he is confronted with problems. Here, Allah ta'ala grants us the solution.
When we are confronted with a problem, we should never lose hope. We should remain cautious because it is in this moment that Shaytan tries to attack a person with Waswasah and distant us from Allah ta'ala.
We learn from this, that we should not advance towards sin lest, we will be granted problems immediately and will be deprived of happiness in both worlds.
No sin is insignificant and every sin brings upon punishment. After committing sin, we should shun the whispers of Shaytan and immediately turn to Allah ta'ala. Allah ta'ala will grant a solution like he cured Hadhrat Ayyub عليه السلام after he turned to Allah ta'ala.
When faced with problems, we should endure, develop patience and supplicate to Allah ta'ala in repentance. We should not commit wrongdoing in order to eliminate the problem, otherwise, we will make matters worse. If we fail to repent, we will certainly be punished at some point in this world. Thus, we become responsible for our own destruction.
Allah ta'ala is close to each of us. As soon as we sin, we should not delay, rather, we must turn to Him immediately and supplicate to Him. Dhikr is also a form of dua. Through dhikr, the angels grant protection to Him
As soon as we rise in the morning, we should recite Surah Falaq and Surah Naas. We should turn to Allah ta'ala and make dua to Him when we rise. We should seek His protection and request wellbeing from Him. If we fail to do this, we are assigning ourselves to Shaytan.
Whomsoever has belief that Allah ta'ala listens, has no worry regarding anything in the the world. Our prayers are not fulfilled due to our lack of belief in Allah ta'ala. If we had belief, we would not commit wrongdoing.
Lying and committing fraud in order to earn money, will only grant us problems even though we may see it as progression in the world.
We must adhere to the commands of Allah ta'ala and abstain from what is forbidden. If we are unsure about anything, we must ask a scholar or a Sheikh who has Taqwa and a purified heart.
That scholar who has been rectified and spent time in the company of the pious, is the true scholar.
Our role model is the Prophet ﷺ. It is a shame that we have no deen in our homes. We fail to practice the Sunnah claiming that it is not necessary. In fact, if there is no obedience to the Prophet ﷺ, our worship is not accepted.
We will never benefit from our worship whilst having the belief that imitating the Sunnah isn't necessary.
There is no harm in acquiring wealth and worldly assets, however, we must not forget Allah ta'ala and abandon His laws. We must implement the deen of Allah ta'ala wherever we are and in return, Allah ta'ala will increase us in prosperity. He will protect our children and they will be observers of the deen.
