Bayan Episode 34- The Last Asharah in Bradford

It is only through Allah ta'ala's grace and mercy that He has enabled us to arrive here. There are many buildings and shopping places here in Bradford, but no where will you find the mercy which is present here in this masjid. Only those attend the gathering whom Allah ta'ala Himself remembers and calls.

Allah ta'ala's mercy seeks excuses to forgive us. We are the foolish ones who ignore and delay these opportunities to be forgiven. Unfortunately, we believe that we are not in need of forgiveness.

The reality of death is that a person is forgotten by the world once he passes away. He is referred to as the 'deceased' one. His titles, status, respect and beauty does not remain with him. His possessions no longer remain with him and he enters the grave. His clothes are removed and he is presented in front of the people. This is the initiation and in this way he will also be naked when being reckoned by Allah ta'ala.

Allah ta'ala gave us life. He prepared for us all types of food. He gave us health and we will be questioned regarding how we utilised it and what benefit we took from it.

We disregard the call to prayer, however, in the afterlife, we will regret not utilising our health. We will regret rejecting this call and abandoning prayer. We will regret not entering Paradise.

Life is valuable. In reality, Allah ta'ala's mercy draws us closer to Him with every passing moment. Every good deed is a means of goodness and blessings for us. Such opportunities are from Allah ta'ala, thus, we should accept it and not reject it. It could be that one good deeds no matter how small, may lead us to Paradise.

Allah ta'ala granted a desire within our hearts to attend this dhikr gathering. We couldn't have imagined this opportunity without Him enabling us to attend.

We have come for Allah ta'ala's sake and we have accepted his invitation.

“No people gather to remember Allah, only desiring by that His countenance, except that it will be announced for them in the heavens: Stand forgiven! Your bad deeds have been replaced with good deeds!” [Ahmad]

Nation refers to all people, the young, old, women, men and the sinful. He gathered those whom He desired.

We cannot hear the call of the angels. We have been granted the most beautiful ears by Allah ta'ala, however, our ears do not hold power to listen to this call. The creation, like the animals, listen to it, but we cannot. This is the wisdom of Allah ta'ala.

The animals are connected to us through the food they sustain us with. They are aware that they have been created as a means of sustenance for us and they thank Allah ta'ala for it. They have been ordered to take care of us. The entire creation are alerted of this individual who engages in dhikr and they are instructed to respect him. The entire world recognises him. The individual isn't aware of this, lest he may become arrogant over this fact.

In the Hereafter, we will present our wealth and kingdom to Allah ta'ala in exchange for our forgiveness. Today, Allah ta'ala only desires for us to control our desires and accept His invitations whenever He invites us. He desires that we fulfil His commands.

Whenever Allah ta'ala instructs us with an order, for example, to perform prayers, we should never reject that call no matter how much anything tries to stop you. We should put the world aside, separate ourselves from others. We should pause our businesses and answer the call of Allah ta'ala swiftly.

Allah ta'ala has created mosques for us every where. We should not be heedless as it is His mercy which is drawing us. When we turn to Him in repentance, Allah ta'ala rewards us by forgiving us. He announces our forgiveness amongst the angels as we fought against our laziness and negligence to come towards Him.

We were embedded in many sins. We present ourselves as pious externally, however, in private, we engage in many sins. Allah ta'ala is aware of our reality as we cannot hide it from Him. After we have sought forgiveness, He gathers our sins and then converts them in to good deeds. A person then becomes valuable due to his forgiveness.

Whoever has partaken in this gathering today, should be grateful that Allah ta'ala has forgiven him and has shown mercy upon him. We must adopt the quality within us that if someone displays good towards us, we should repay it with a better deed or better form of good treatment. This is a sign of believer, otherwise we are arrogant.

As we have been forgiven, we should now make a firm promise to Allah ta'ala that we will pray our prayers when he invites us towards prayer. We will give zakah and we will obey the laws of Allah ta'ala and His Rasul ﷺ. We should not fear that it is difficult to implement. If we are forgiven today, Allah ta'ala will forgive us tomorrow too.

There is an easy and simple way to please Allah ta'ala such that a person becomes His beloved and that is through imitating the Prophet ﷺ in every part of our life. Thereafter, Nabi ﷺ will take us to Paradise.

May Allah ta'ala allow us to implement. Ameen
