Bayan Episode 31- Layla-tul-Qadr in Burnley

The nights of Laylatul Qadr have been praised in the Quran. These night are greater than one thousand months.

We are not required to perform much in order to attain this night. In order to attain it, we must have the intention of pleasing Allah ta'ala and reconciling with Him.

Hadhrat Aishah Radiyallaha Anha said, “O Messenger of Allah ﷺ, if I know which night is the Night of Decree, what should I say during it?” Nabi ﷺ said, “Say: O Allah, You are pardoning. You love to forgive, so forgive me." [Tirmidhi Shareef]

اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عُفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي

In the court of Allah ta'ala, we should acknowledge our sins in private, recite this Dua and seek forgiveness from Him. This is how to attain the night of Qadr. We do not need to recite Nasheeds or finish the Quran. Allah ta'ala requires forgiveness from us.

One can determine whether Allah ta'ala is pleased or displeased with him, by assessing his deeds and actions of life.

We may perform others acts of worship tonight and we will become rewarded. However, we should fulfil the requirements of this night first. If we miss the opportunity, it will not return again. We have been given five opportunities to be forgiven. If we seek forgiveness five times and not just on the twenty seventh night, we will have attained five Laylatul Qadr nights.

Allah ta'ala desires to forgive us during this night. We do not need to go through any intermediary to achieve this. Rather, all we must do is seek forgiveness from Him. Thereafter, the heavens rejoice that the Creator and His servant have reconciled.

All of us are sinful and we are only deceiving ourselves if we believe that we are not. We must repent during this night otherwise, we are wasting time. There are three conditions of repentance. A person should display regret over his sins. If he hasn't acknowledged his sins, his repentance will not be accepted.

Allah ta'ala will not look towards one who harbours malice, so we should eliminate malice and hatred from our hearts. We must seek forgiveness from our parents and eliminate alcohol before seeking forgiveness from Allah ta'ala, otherwise we will not be forgiven.

If our parents have passed away, we should supplicate for them. If they are alive, we should serve them, particularly in their old age and assist them no matter how they treat us. We should not leave their side when they are weak and old. Some pious predecessors attained the heights due to their great service to their parents.

Deen is made easy for us and Paradise is easily attainable. Paradise can be earned through our parents. We should obey them unless they ask us to go against deen. Even then we should maintain love with them.

How to remove malice from the heart?
We must supplicate for the person we hate and for those we are jealous about. We should pray Allah ta'ala grants them more. After this, we should supplicate for ourselves. This is the greatest worship during this night.

The reason we perform dhikr during this night is to show gratitude towards Allah ta'ala. Whoever repents today, his dhikr will be accepted and Allah ta'ala will convert all his sins in to good deeds.
We should make a witness to our repentance such as repenting through an authentic Sheikh. Thereafter, if we have the energy, we should perform worship and then perform dhikr out of gratitude to Allah ta'ala for attaining forgiveness.

The repentance of this night will be greater than a thousands month. Those who performed repentance already, yet they are sinning, should repent and intend to start a new lease of life. No man is too weak to run towards Allah ta'ala. Death is near so we should transform ourselves.

It is a great favour upon us that we are born amongst the nation of the Prophet ﷺ. Allah ta'ala desires that we imitate him and He is displeased when we disobey the Prophet ﷺ.

We should not imitate those who oppose Allah ta'ala and the Prophet ﷺ. If we desire the love of Allah ta'ala and His nearness, the condition is that we must attain it through the Prophet ﷺ's obedience. In return, Allah ta'ala will love you.

It is so unfortunate that we are ashamed of emulating his ways. We should imitate him with pride and not be ashamed of our beard being lengthened until a fist from all sides of the face.

We engage in many acts of worship like Hajj and Umrah in order to attain Allah ta'ala's pleasure, however, we fail to fuflil the condition which He has set of acquiring His love.

We should not delay in asking from Allah ta'ala. When we ask Him, He will grant us immediately.

Thereafter, Allah ta'ala has announced that such a person has become His friend and the angels and the other forms of creation will take care of him.

From now on, we must promise to keep a beard and pray the complete Salaah and then we should perform Taubah. The angels will be a witness to this repentance. They are present and they search for those individuals who repent and perform dhikr.

May Allah ta'ala allow us to implement. Ameen
