Regarding حزب الله, the group of Allah ta'ala, the pious predecessors mention that the people from this group possess three qualities. They practice upon the Qurans instructions, they are regular upon the Sunnah and they perform the dhikr of Allah ta'ala in abundance.
They are the genuine sect amongst the groups of falsehood. We should also strive to implement the Quran and adhere to the Sunnah internally and externally. This is the soul of Tasawwuf. Unless one adheres to the Sunnah, he will not attain the nearness of Allah ta'ala.
If we wish to attain the love for Allah ta'ala, the condition mentioned in the Quran is to emulate the Sunnah.
Dhikr is not the objective itself. Rather, it is a means of making our heart soft so that we are not affected by the actions which make a person's heart hard. When the heart is hardened, a person will not accept the truth. The heart which is soft accepts the genuine message which connects a person to Allah ta'ala and that occurs through the emulation of the Sunnah.
Through dhikr, a person understands the importance of the Sunnah and is able to emulate the Sunnah. A person may be occupied in dhikr and worship for many years of his life, however, if he fails to implement the Sunnah and he does not have the passion to imitate it, then he is in deception and he must work harder.
We should keep assessing ourselves and not have false hopes in our actions. Living according to the Sunnah should be our only invitation towards deen.
We should never visit such a Sheikh whereby we do not attain the Sunnah through his company. He should have the effect of Sunnah in his life otherwise, we should not adopt his company.
Tasawwuf refers to attaining the love for the Sunnah through the company of the Sheikh. This is the biggest hard work for a person because not many people follow the Sunnah and there are many people who are not genuine.
We should perform dhikr in abundance, however, the effects of our dhikr should be evident through our emulation of the Prophet ﷺ in our everyday life. Every thing in our life should be in accordance to the Sunnah. The angels are proud of those people who emulate the Sunnah in times of severe evil and corruption.
We should never hesitate in implementing the Sunnah and we should remove all doubts. Gaining faiz, blessings, from the teacher does not refer to attaining miracles. Rather, it refers to living according to the Sunnah. When we gain the love of Allah ta'ala, our emotions and actions will automatically improve. A person achieves a very high rank by adhering to the ways of the Sunnah.
All of Hadhrat Baqi Billah Rahmatullahi Alayh's students had turned to Hadhrat Mujaddid Alf Thani Rahmatullahi Alayh because before Hadhrat Baqi Billah Rahmatullahi alayh passed away, he instructed his students to turn to Hadhrat Mujaddid Alf Thani Rahmatullahi Alayh.
There was a class fellow of Hadhrat Mujaddid Alf Thani Rahmatullahi Alayh, he was a khalifah (deputy) of Hadhrat Baqi Billah Rahmatullahi alayh, a high level Sheikh himself who experienced visions. Once, he came to Hadhrat Mujaddid Alf Thani Rahmatullahi Alayh and immediately Haal (effects of his dhikr) overcame him and the entire land began shaking. Hadhrat Mujaddid Alf Thani Rahmatullahi Alayh instructed his attendant to fetch his Miswak. He brought the miswake and Hadhrat Mujaddid Alf Thani Rahmatullahi Alayh placed it on the ground. Immediately, the other Sheikh became conscious and the ground ceased to shake. Hadhrat Mujaddid Alf Thani Rahmatullahi Alayh then stated, "Oh Sheikh, your status is very high that you can cause the earth to shake, however, the one who adheres to the Sunnah, his one miswak can stop the land from shaking.
If I desire right now with the ability from Allah ta'ala to give an instruction, all the deceased from this graveyard in front, would rise from their graves. Allah ta'ala has given me that much power. However, this isn't the objective. Through the Sunnah, my miswak, I was able to control everything that you were showing."
We should not leave the Sunnah as it is a very great thing. The more we distance ourselves from the Sunnah and the more we are ashamed of it, the more we become far from Paradise.
The more we crush our desires and the more we practice the Sunnah even in times of difficulty, the more we become closer to Allah ta'ala
If we desire the love of Allah ta'ala, then we must love and follow the Prophet ﷺ. In return, Allah ta'ala will love us.
