Jewels of Ramadhan 2025 - Episode 3

Our objective in life is only to please Allah ta'ala. We should remember this at all times. Allah ta'ala has given us physical gifts and bounties. We must take benefit of these bounties and we must please Allah ta'ala through them.

Whoever forgets this objective is in loss and will only realise its severity when it is too late. Allah ta'ala grants us blessed nights and opportunities to remind us of this objective and to save us from laziness.

When a person passes away, the only desire we have for them is that Allah ta'ala forgives them. We do not desire anything else for them at that point. This is because if Allah ta'ala doesn't forgive the deceased person, he faces a great punishment in the afterlife.

Despite these great opportunities, it is a shame that we forget. We do not understand and we disregard the reminders. Thus, we are in great loss and for such a person, there is no cure.

We have been given this life to please Allah ta'ala so we should always assess whether He is happy with us. We spend hours planning and assessing our worldly affairs, but we fail to do the same for the afterlife.

We should seek refuge from being negligent and lazy because as humans we forget that we are in this world to please Allah ta'ala. Allah ta'ala has made this path easy for us, however, we must work hard to achieve His pleasure.

We work hard to run our businesses because we need to pay bills and gain sustenance, however, we overlook the true objective of life. This means we have no system of life. In reality, we cannot attain anything without striving. If we do not work hard upon the path of Allah ta'ala, we cannot attain the destination.

We are mentally prepared to attain His pleasure through our fasting. This is displayed in the fact that we fast for His sake and not for the sake of the world which is why we do not violate the fast. This is a sign of our faith. Allah ta'ala has awakened our faith and made us alert which is the reason we fast.

We have suhoor and we cease eating and drinking for the whole day. When we break our fast, Allah ta'ala announces to the angels that He is happy with us and He has forgiven us. This is because we strove to attain His pleasure. This is the result of our hard work. If the fasting person was to depart this world, he would be granted Paradise. This is because he is working hard towards that purpose for which Allah ta'ala created him.

Allah ta'ala is pleased with such a person because he has assigned his life over to Him and has intended to act according to His pleasure. This is his struggle.

Those who fulfil their basic worldly needs whilst prioritising the pleasure of Allah ta'ala by suppressing everything else, are the Sufi's. They do just enough in the world to fulfil their necessities and they have detached themselves from the world. Their main purpose is to attain His pleasure.

When a believer lives his entire life like this, then Allah ta'ala announces for him, "Is there anyone who desires anything from Me? Is there anyone who wishes to be forgiven?" He announces this daily during Tahajjud time. Thus, we should never abandon Tahajjud prayer and we should keep this act ongoing as rising in the morning is a great blessing from Allah ta'ala.

When a person takes the first step towards attaining His pleasure, such as Tahajjud, Allah ta'ala makes the rest easy for Him. Allah ta'ala will prepare such provisions for him such that it will fulfil his sleep and his tiredness will evaporate. We should not leave Tahajjud in any circumstance.

Whenever we have some spare time, we should sit in Muraqabah, think about our teacher and focus upon Allah ta'ala and this will refresh us. Through this, we will attain deen and dunya and our tiredness will be removed.

Ramadan teaches us that we will not attain anything without hard work. We must learn to work hard in the path of Allah ta'ala. We should not make excuses, rather, we must keep trying.

Every moment throughout Ramadan Allah ta'ala invites us and seeks to forgive us and fulfil our needs through His announcement. Therefore, we should not be lazy and negligent during this month.

His forgiveness is a great reward. If we are forgiven, we are successful and we will enter Paradise.

Whenever we begin to do an action in the path of Allah ta'ala and we are overcome by laziness, then we should become alert and remain firm and resolute. For example, if we are lazy to attend the dhikr gathering, we should pull ourselves together and strive to attend. If we work hard, we will receive the mercy of Allah ta'ala, otherwise we will not.

We must make a plan and a schedule and take the steps physically. This is the striving of a person to avoid his desires overtaking him.

When a student adheres to his Sheikh's instructions and abstain from sins and upholds the promises, his desires are crushed. The teacher is a helper and a guide for us and this is a great blessing from Allah ta'ala.

We must pray all our prayers in congregation and there should be nothing preventing us from it otherwise, we will be punished immediately.

That home in which prayer is not performed is impacted negatively. The inhabitants are cursed and those homes face disputes, disorder and problems.

The first step to attain Allah ta'ala's nearness and pleasure is prayer in congregation. We should not miss it without a Shari'ee excuse. Only laziness and disregard prevents one from prayer in congregation.

Ramadan reminds us that we should not be lazy. When laziness is about to overcome us, we should immediately jump up and take action. Thereafter, Allah ta'ala will fulfil His promise and He will make things easy for us.

After we take the first step, Allah ta'ala opens many doors of success for us and many resources will be available for us.

The more we run to Allah ta'ala, the more He will run to us.

May Allah ta'ala allow us to implement. Ameen
