If one possesses intellect, he is able to distinguish between good and bad. He has the awareness. Naturally, he will distance from what is impure and advance towards that which is nice and pure.
Those who pray at home and abandon the congregation in the Masjid, will have fulfilled their prayers but they will not receive the reward for their prayers.
When a person is stood by you in prayer and he gives off an unpleasant smell, you are given trouble by his stench. Hence, Nabi ﷺ taught us to be very cautious of purity. There should be no smell issuing from our feet and we should perform miswak and rinse our mouth prior to attending the congregation. We should not give difficulty to others around us. We should avoid consuming raw onions, garlic and ginger because the odour can cause trouble to the person next to us in congregation. The other person's prayer may be affected and spoilt as a result.
To apply perfume is a Sunnah and we should apply a nice smelling perfume which also pleases others and causes them to pray for us.
Stool and urine are the worst type of stench, however, a mother can bear this stench of her child, although others cannot. This is because she is immersed in the love for her child.
Nabi ﷺ states, "By Him in Whose Hands my soul is, the smell coming out from the mouth of a fasting person is better in the sight of Allah than the smell of musk." [Bukhari Shareef]
Fasting develops a stench in the mouth. Even if one purifies his mouth, his stomach releases an odour.
The odour of a fasting person is more beloved to Allah ta'ala than musk. There are different types of fragrances and musk is a popular perfume amongst the Arab. It carries a very pleasant scent. Having said that, Allah ta'ala likes our stench more than musk. He loves the odour of the fasting person because the fasting person is beloved to Him.
If we spend money on buying good quality perfume although it is expensive, with the intention that we will give enjoyment to the person praying next to us, then we have fulfilled the Sunnah. To wear good perfume in order to make our companion happy is a great deed.
We are all equivalent in the eyes of Allah ta'ala no matter what colour we are. If we consider someone else to be ugly, it is truly our eyes that are defective. This is because Allah ta'ala has made us all beautiful and He has created us with His preference and design. Thus, if we consider someone to be ugly, we are in need of curing our eyesight.
Who is the one who fasts for Allah ta'ala's sake? During his fast he performs all those actions which are pleasing to Allah ta'ala. He is considered a true fasting person and even the creation recognise such a believer and pray for him. This is his value in the eyes of Allah ta'ala. If Allah ta'ala loves a person, imagine his rank!
Such a fasting person is beloved because he has adjusted his lifestyle for a duration of time and has assigned himself to Allah ta'ala. Consequently, Allah ta'ala forgave his errors and overlooked his physical defects such as bad odour due to his fasting and made him His beloved.
He embraces our stench and considers it better than musk due to our fasting, no matter how sinful we are. Once we fast in the correct manner, Allah ta'ala becomes our protector.
It is up to us - either we spend our life in amusement and futile things or we spend it for His sake. Time will pass either way and it won't stop, however, time that is spent for Allah ta'ala and according to His desires is what is considered valuable. It doesn't matter whether we like living that way or not, we should strive to sacrifice thousands of our choices for the preference of Allah ta'ala.
The world will never be happy no matter how much you do for others. Eventually they will betray you even if you sacrifice yourself for them and abandon your deen in the process. You will become hurt, but this will be a punishment for you and there will be no one to assist you.
It is unfortunate that we spend all our time and effort for our children. We cheat and commit fraud for their sake even though they are enemies for us as they take us against the objective of life and away from the remembrance of Allah ta'ala.
Those people for whom we abandon the deen, will soon betray us and this will be our punishment upon earth.
We should make a contract with Allah ta'ala and live our lives according to His desire. We should limit ourselves to maintaining the rights of children and family without compromising our deen in the process otherwise, we will face backlash and there will be none to assist us and it will be too late. We should uphold certain principles from the beginning without exceeding them and we should treat our family in fairness according to their due right. This is referred to as living with balance according to the deen.
We should pull ourselves together and not destroy our lives for the people around us. We should recognise our value as human beings and repent.
When a person improves himself and becomes a good human being, he will never accrue any loss in the world. He will not die hungry upon the path of deen. His business will not be destroyed due to him practicing the deen. Allah ta'ala guarantees that He will elevate him so much that the creation in the oceans will begin to recognise him. Sustenance will arrive to him automatically. Therefore, we should not fear adjusting our lifestyles. We should not sacrifice our entire selves for the world and abandon the valuable things of the Hereafter in exchange for it.
Allah ta'ala is the one who granted us children. Instead of sacrificing everything for them, we should focus upon our relationship with Allah ta'ala and He will bring up our children.
We should think of Allah ta'ala for the purpose of what we were created for. We should not betray and forget Allah ta'ala for the sake of people on earth. We should strengthen our relationship with Him and not be afraid of practicing the deen. We should assign ourselves to Allah ta'ala and we will not lose out on anything in the world.
We should make a solid promise with Allah ta'ala that we will live according to His desire. Before performing an action, we will reflect whether it is permissible or not. If we are unaware, we will ask the AwliyahAllah who know. Thus, we will never be deviated. However, we must listen to the WaliAllah otherwise, there is no benefit. We should take this step immediately and run towards this lifestyle as Allah ta'ala's mercy awaits us.
We should become such a valuable person and repent and live according to His preference.
May Allah ta'ala allow us to implement. Ameen
