Which Deed has a Virtue of Hajj & Umrah

The most wise person is he who knows he will depart from this world one day and he prepares for his Hereafter.

The greatest deed which will grant us success in the Hereafter is dhikr. Thus, we engage in dhikr to prepare us for our Hereafter.

There are many good deeds we should carry out, however, dhikr grants us salvation and success. Dhikr is connected to all actions and all actions are completed via dhikr.

The soul of every deed is sincerity. If we engage in deeds without performing them for the sake of Allah ta'ala, they will not be accepted. To attain sincerity, we are given the action of dhikr.

When a person makes effort with dhikr, he is in fact improving his prayer and his other deeds. Dhikr alone is not the objective. Rather it allows a person to complete his objective as it rectifies our deeds.

There's a quality which Allah ta'ala has placed in dhikr whereby it enables a person to fulfil his prayers. It removes laziness and negligence from prayer and it allows a person to become more alert in his prayers. Through dhikr, all other faraaidh actions are also improved and thus, one attains his objective.

فَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ وَاسْتَغْفِرْهُ ۚ إِنَّهُ كَانَ تَوَّابًا

"Then glorify the praises of your Lord. He is ever Accepting of Repentance." [110:3]

Here, Nabi ﷺ addresses his nation, that they should adopt two things in preparation for the Hereafter.

1) Engage in Allah ta'ala's dhikr in abundance as it will grant a person success.

2) We should repent alongside engaging in abundant dhikr and make an effort to save ourselves from sins.

Dhikr is a very valuable action and it contains many rewards. In a Hadith, it is mentioned that Allah ta'ala sends special angels to the world with a duty of roaming around searching for those people who are partaking in His dhikr.

When something is sought for, it proves its scarcity. This shows that the gatherings of dhikr are not only uncommon and difficult to find, but they are also very valuable.

Today, the gatherings of dhikr have been eradicated. This is the reason for corruption, loss and evil amongst us. We have replaced dhikr with other things which please our desires. We have considered them a part of deen and we oppose them against dhikr.

When the angels find such gatherings, they call out to the other angels with happiness. They all partake in the dhikr gathering so much so, that the gap between the heavens and the earth is filled with angels. They spread their wings and they protect the gathering. They come bearing treasures and mercies for those individuals engaged in dhikr.

Our faith in this fact is weak. The angels understand the value of this gathering, however, we find no benefit and success in it. We should consider its value for in reality, we will never earn a loss by it. This gathering will grant us success, yet, we fail to make a sacrifice to attend.

Even when we engage in good actions such as dhikr, we expect to be granted material gain and all our desires to become fulfilled. Although we are given worldly blessings through dhikr, we are actually given much more than our worldly desires. In fact, Allah ta'ala builds Paradise for us as a reward for our dhikr.

Worldly enjoyments will soon diminish so Allah ta'ala desires to reward us with permanent success. Thus, we shouldn’t expect our problems to be lifted through dhikr, as dhikr is to prepare for our Hereafter. It has no connection with our worldly life. Whatever it is destined for us, we will receive and that is something pre-ordained.

Shaytan makes a person lose hope. We must have faith in Allah ta'ala and trust Him.

Materialism is not considered prosperity. Allah ta'ala first warns the nation and when we fail to achieve our objective, He grants us some form of difficulty or distress so that we can return to Him through our difficulty.

Whenever a person faces poverty or any distress, he should immediately turn to Allah ta'ala and repent. If he fails to do so, Allah ta'ala then grants him extreme happiness as a form of punishment. Due to his stubbornness and rejection, he becomes so immersed in the world that he is not given an opportunity to turn back to Allah ta'ala.

All the previous nations were destroyed with this accounting and methodology. They were proud of their assets and power, however, soon they were punished immediately.

Hadhrat Shoaib عليه السلام was sent to this world to teach good character. His nation would cheat, commit fraud and deceive the people. They considered themselves prosperous. Allah ta'ala then descended three punishments upon them. Allah ta'ala sent fire upon them from the heavens. Then He released a shrieking sound from the sky which caused everything to split. Thereafter, Allah ta'ala sent down an earthquake upon them.

As mentioned in the last verse of Surah Nasr, if we commit a sin, we should repent immediately and Allah ta'ala will forgive us. We should never abandon dhikr due to our sins. Rather, we should continue dhikr but perform istighfar alongside. Through istighfar, Allah ta'ala will forgive us and also increase our status.

Dhikr is essential in order to be to be improved and rectified. If we fail to adopt dhikr and repentance, how can we claim to be preparing for our Hereafter? We should at least make some effort for these two actions are the most excellent way to prepare for the Hereafter.

Dhikr is the initiation and it has no pre-condition . If a person is trapped in a sin and he begins to perform dhikr, it will enable him to leave that sin.
When we engage in dhikr, everything will fall in to place.

By delaying action and obeying our desires, we are only oppressing ourselves and causing loss to ourselves.

We should not measure a persons success based on worldly things. Rather, we should look at those who have befriended the angels. The Awliyah Allah are the deputies of the Prophets. They give good news and advise the people in order for them to succeed. They have such a high status because they meet the angels every single day in their gatherings. Their friendship with the angels is solidified. At the time of death, the angels protect such people who engage in dhikr.

When we face prosperity in regards to worldly things we rejoice and we thank Allah ta'ala profusely. Instead, we should aim to be thankful to Allah ta'ala for allowing us to pray Fajr in congregation and Ishraq thereafter. We fail to do this and waste the opportunity of earning the reward of one Hajj and Umrah daily.

May Allah ta'ala allow us to implement. Ameen
