Allah ta'ala loves it when a person is regular and steadfast upon his good actions. Due to his steadfastness, Allah ta'ala showers His blessings and Grace upon such a person.
These are the final days of Hajj and they are extremely important days.
Allah ta'ala mentions in the Quran,
وَاذْكُرُواْ اللّهَ فِي أَيَّامٍ مَّعْدُودَاتٍ
"And remember Allah through the appointed days." [2:203]
Hadhrat Abdullah ibn Abbas رضي الله عنه commented on this verse and mentioned that these days refer to the days of Hajj in which Allah ta'ala's name should be elevated. Allah ta'ala's Takbir, Hamd and Thanã should be performed. He further states that the actions performed during these days of Tashriq, are more valuable and weightier than all other days of a person's life.
The most beloved action to Allah ta'ala during these days, is to remember Allah ta'ala in abundance.
"And when you have performed your rites remember Allah as you remember your fathers; or remember Him even more." [2:200]
Hadhrat Abdullah Ibn Abbas رضي الله عنه explained this verse to mean that one should remember Allah ta'ala more than he remembers his forefathers.
Just like the parents names are ingrained in a child's mind from a young age, a person should remember Allah ta'ala more than that.
Allah ta'ala grants us these blessed days with the ability to do Dhikr so that we can be rewarded and forgiven. Those who have certitude in this, have increased fervency and love for Dhikr. They are able to suppress their desires even more, due to their strong certitude.
Hadhrat Abdullah Ibn Umar رضي الله عنه would engage in Dhikr in his bed and in his tent during the Hajj days. He would perform Dhikr in a raised voice, causing others around him to imitate his action.
Hadhrat Anas رضي الله عنه narrates that when people assemble together to remember Allah ta'ala, an angel in the heavens announces forgiveness for them. During these precious days, we receive even more blessings and rewards, therefore, we should take maximum advantage of these blessed days.
When Allah ta'ala desires for His slave to be forgiven, He grants him the ability to sit in the circles of His remembrance. This is not due to our own achievement. Rather, it is due to His Mercy and the blessings of our pious predecessors that we are given this Great blessing.
We abandon and oppose the ways of the Prophet ﷺ and Sahabah and we prefer the ways of others, yet we hold false hope in Allah ta'ala's Mercy. This is not acceptable.
After today, our lives should change for the better because we do not receive this great opportunity every day. We should promise Allah ta'ala that we will remain conscious over our sins and avoid disobeying Him from now onwards. This is our way of showing gratitude to Allah ta'ala for saving us from Hellfire.
We should also make a promise to be steadfast upon our prayers. Womenfolk should make a promise never to delay their prayers again.
Allah ta'ala multiplies the rewards during these blessed nights. He doesn't only forgive us, He also transforms our sins into good deeds and grants us refuge from the Hellfire.
Thus, we can never return Allah ta'ala's favour upon us. Instead, we should promise Allah ta'ala to leave sin and promise to give up lying, consuming interest and committing fraud.
We should correct our appearances and promise to imitate the appearance and lifestyle of the Prophet ﷺ. This is the method of showing gratitude for Allah ta'ala's rewards bestowed upon us. If you leave a sin due to Allah ta'ala forgiving you, then Allah ta'ala appreciates that action and increases you in blessings.
We should bring Dhikr into our lives and attend the Dhikr Gatherings. A person may be weak individually, but his weakness is extracted within the Gathering. This is because a person attends the Dhikr Gathering so that he can have more love, determination and attachment for Dhikr.
In reality, any sacrifices and effort we make for Dhikr are nothing because we are gaining huge benefit and reward in return. The one who suppressed his desires and worked hard in life, will gain a higher abode in Paradise.
When a person rises in the morning, it is Sunnah for him to rub his eyes with his knuckles. In return, a person's eyes will glow.
When you rise in the morning, you should thank Allah ta'ala for your working limbs and for your health. With this good health , we should promise Allah ta'ala to obey Him and fulfil His commands.
As soon as you rise, focus your attention towards Allah ta'ala and connect with Him. This is the way of rising.
We should make a connection with Allah ta'ala and prefer what He loves. Thus, we should intend to rise for the Dhikr Gatherings in the morning.
We complain that we do not get enough sleep. The solution for this, is to take out a few minutes before sleeping and speak to Allah ta'ala. "Oh Allah, I sleep with Your name and I rise with Your name and You are the Controller. I wish to attend the Dhikr Gathering in the morning so please allow me to have a beautiful and fulfilled sleep in which I feel refreshed for the day, even if I only sleep for a few hours."
In such a manner, you will wake up refreshed for the day and eager to attend the Dhikr Gathering.
You should never consider yourself old and incapable of worshipping. As long as you are determined and practicing the Deen of Allah ta'ala, you are considered a young person.
Allah ta'ala forgives us through His Dhikr, therefore, we should be extremely grateful and intend to eliminate our sins so that we can attain Allah ta'ala's blessings and attain success.
