What is the Message of the First Asharah?

True Believers prepare for Ramadan from beforehand as there are blessings for every believer in Ramadan. This month is for the sinners to loot the treasures as special mercies are showered upon the sinful people. This month has been distributed in 3 parts. The first part is reserved for Allah ta'ala's Mercy.

Allah ta'ala calls out three times during these blessed nights, "Is there a sinful person who I can forgive? Is there someone who is in distress, so I can remove his difficulty? Is there anyone needy so I can fulfil his need?"

The King of Kings Himself desires that we ask Him. This shows that it is not possible for anyone to remain empty handed. Therefore, the worst person in this month, is he who does not seek from Allah. Only that person who considers himself needy will beg Allah. The one who considers himself rich and pious will not beg from Allah or seek His forgiveness as his nafs does not allow him. Whoever follows his nafs and is arrogant, can never be successful. We should save ourselves from our own nafs as our nafs is a very dangerous thing.

Whenever we achieve something in life, we should assign our efforts to Allah ta'ala and recognise that our ability to do good comes from Him. He enabled our teachers to teach us through their Mercy upon us.

Islam is the religion of peace and safety, not the religion of fraud and stealing. Many of us claim to be religious but we lie and commit false signatures in order to earn more wealth. The best person is he who doe not take, rather he gives. We should work and earn with our own hands and Allah ta'ala will grant us many blessings in our life.

Mercy is the biggest quality of a believer without which he is an animal and an empty person. Thus, the system of the world is destroyed without Mercy. Allah ta'ala established the world based upon His Mercy and He began this month with His Mercy to show the importance of this quality. We must take a lesson from these ten days and strive to become a merciful person.

The first ten days of Ramadan are full of Allah's Mercy because this month is connected to the sinful people. Allah ta'ala sent this month in order for them to be forgiven and a means for them to become successful.

The angels and the arsh and all creation tremble due to the greatness of Allah ta'ala, yet the human being openly disobeys Allah ta'ala and has no concern. Even whilst we sin, Allah ta'ala provides us with sustenance and doesn't leave us devoid of any need. We are worthy of His severe punishment, yet it is His Great Mercy which protects us.

Nabi ﷺ has explained that a person's worship will not cause him to enter paradise. Rather, the one whose heart is purified and the one who has Mercy in his heart, are the ones who will be destined for paradise.

These 2 qualities are connected because if a persons heart is not pure, then how can he attain mercy? To attain these qualities one must spend time in the company of a Sheikh, serve him and engage in dhikr. The first thing a person attains in the company of a sheikh is Mercy.

Hadhrat Anas رضي الله عنه mentioned that the Prophet ﷺ instructed the Sahabah to be merciful people. They replied, "We do extend our Mercy." The Prophet ﷺ then stated, "Mercy isn't restricted to yourself and your families, rather, you should show Mercy to others."

What a beautiful teaching of Ramadan!
We engage in many forms of worship but we forget to show Mercy to others.

Whoever breaks the fast of someone else by providing him with Iftaar, then he receives 3 rewards straight away, 1) all his sins are forgiven. 2) Hellfire becomes forbidden upon him, 3) he will be rewarded according to the status of the person he fed.

The Arabs understand this. Suddenly they become very hospitable and they roll out the mats and give out food. Prior to Ramadan they are unjust to people and commit excess, but when Ramadan comes, they are very generous as they know that there is so much reward in feeding others. It is unfortunate that many of us seek Allah ta'ala's pleasure from other avenues besides through serving His creation.

First we should consider and prioritise our poor relatives as they have a right upon us and thereafter we should spend upon the poor in other places.

Crime and injustice is strife in those areas in which the Mercy has disappeared from the hearts of the people. Thus, Allah ta'ala lifts the blessings from such a nation. Allah ta'ala makes certain countries an examples for others and he trials them with poverty due to their actions. We beg from others but in reality, the glory of a believer is such that, due to his blessings, the rest of the world should eat. Instead, we have dug our own trench and we beg assistance from others. This is Allah ta'ala's punishment upon us as the mercy for His creation has left our hearts.

The servants are known to have the least rank in society. However, we should remember that they are also human beings. They have hearts and emotions. They also desire good food, but most of us have no Mercy in our hearts. Instead we deem ourselves to be superior due to our wealth and position in society and we scold and mistreat our servants. We forget that Allah ta'ala will hold us accountable for oppressing His Creation.

The Masaajid and worship are one component of Islam. The rest of the components are related to societal affairs. We commit excess against humanity and we are courageous and consider it to be fine just because we do not get punished immediately.
In reality, Allah ta'ala delays punishment upon us due to His mercy. He gives us the opportunity to repent, yet we become even more brave and continue sinning. We forget about our sins but until we repent, they won't be wiped away from our records. We should make it a habit to constantly repent.

Allah ta'ala becomes pleased with that person whose heart is improved during this month. He may not be able to help the poor, but his heart aches for them and he weeps for them.

Hadhrat Anas رضي الله عنه mentioned that a man cannot enter Paradise without having the following 4 qualities. 1) One who seeks forgiveness on behalf of the sinful people. This is because the sinful people are placed in permanent punishment, so one should not desire them to burn in Hellfire.

The most deserving of Mercy are the sinners because they are close to facing Allah ta'ala's punishment. Those who guide the sinners are the ones without greed. They save them from Hellfire and take them towards Heaven. Those people are the wali Allah who do this without any wealth or preconditions. With their great drive and passion, they spend tireless hours rectifying the hearts of the people. They have no concern for anything else and they sacrifice their rest for others. This is because their hearts are full of genuine Mercy. This is why their statuses are very high in the eyes of Allah ta'ala. We think that the Awliyah Allah are elevated due to their worship, rather, it is due to the purity of their hearts and having great concern for the guidance of the people. Imagine how much of a deep connection they have with Allah ta'ala that they hold no ulterior motives out of their concern for humanity!

2) One who repays those who have favoured him. You should never forget those who assisted you, whether they helped you financially, provided you with solutions or caused you to become happy through an action.

3) One who holds friendship with those who repent. Nowadays we mock and degrade those who have committed sins in the past , but those who have Mercy in their hearts, sit with those who have repented. They never remind them of their sins, instead they mentions their good status.

4) One who enquires about a sick person and he helps the sick.

Such people who have all 4 qualities are deserving of paradise and have successfully attained the first 10 days of Ramadan.

May Allah ta'ala allow us to implement
