Reward for the Ten Days

The valuable days of Dhul Hijjah are about to arrive. We shouldn’t waste these days. Allah ta'ala bestows and withholds His precious pearls and everything is in His control. We are grateful to have this current opportunity to prepare for our Hereafter.

The first ten days of Dhul Hijjah are very sacred. Nabi ﷺ stated that the deeds and worship performed during these ten days are most beloved to Allah ta'ala compared to the worship performed during the rest of the year.

Allah ta'ala loves these ten days and Allah ta'ala considers the deeds we carry out during these days as beloved to Him.

If anyone fasts one day during these days, he will receive the reward of one years worth of fasting. If he fasts for nine days, he will receive nine years of reward and Allah ta'ala Himself will reward the fasting person.

We should all make a firm intention that we will fast during these blessed days. If we fail to keep the fast due to negligence or laziness, or any other reason, we will still receive the complete reward based on our intention. Allah ta'ala loves the person who makes the intention, so we should at least intend to fast.

If a person performs any act of worship during the night of Dhul Hijjah, he will receive the reward equivalent to one night of Laylatul Qadr.

We are not required to worship the entire night. We may perform Isha, sleep for a while, pray Tahajjud, perform dhikr, recitation of the Quran and thereafter, perform Fajr. In doing so, we will receive reward for the entire night.

This night is not restricted to any form of worship. We may perform any good deed, including recitation of the Quran, dhikr and giving in charity. In return, we will receive many rewards.

Repentance is also worship. In fact, to shun the sin is the greatest worship. This is the soul of worship and all other worship are accepted due to it. We must repent first and request Allah ta'ala to accept our forgiveness. We should take Bay'ah from the teacher as this is an act of turning to Allah ta'ala in repentance.

We should perform two rakat prayer and seek repentance from Allah ta'ala. We should be extremely remorseful of our sins. We should try to make our eyes moist with regret because he whose eyes become moist, Hellfire will become forbidden from him.

Thereafter, we should make a firm contract with Allah ta'ala to abstain from all sins. We shouldnt worry about not being able to leave the sin, nor worry about committing the sin again because Allah ta'ala will forgive us if we seek His forgiveness again. However, we should make a promise to Allah ta'ala to leave the sin and not repeat the sin again.

Leaving sin may seem difficult, but Allah ta'ala is the most powerful. With His capability, we repent and leave the sins. We should assign ourselves to Allah ta'ala in repentance. It is even better to take Bay'ah at the hands of a wali Allah. The benefit of this is that the Wali Allah becomes a witness of your repentance who will testify to Allah ta'ala, thus, you'll be successful.

You can repent alone but you should have witnesses to your repentance. You shouldn't be ashamed to seek forgiveness in front of people whilst you commit sins in front of Allah ta'ala.

The most honourable people are the Hujjaaj who have left their status and their children and they have arrived for Hajj bareheaded and semi-clothed. Allah ta'ala has selected these people and is proud of them.

Currently, Allah ta'ala has not selected anyone from us and what a massive misfortune this is. Allah ta'ala has closed the doors to his home.

In reality, Coronavirus is just a front. This is all from Allah ta'ala and if we please Him, everything will return to normality. The believers should learn a lesson from this and turn back to Allah ta'ala, repent and please Him. This is the solution to this virus.

Not everyone can perform Hajj during these days, thus, Allah ta'ala wishes to reward those who cannot. He is Merciful and doesn't want us to lose out. Allah ta'ala loves the one who loves the selected Hujjaaj. If we imitate them, we will be given the same reward as them. It is not compulsory but it is an encouraged practice based on love.

We should abstain from cutting our hair and nails during these ten days. We should also recite Takbir Tashriq aloud during these days just as the Hujjaaj are reciting. We should respect the Hujjaaj. When we imitate them, we are given the same rewards as them as they are beloved to Allah ta'ala. Allah ta'ala begins to love us for our imitation.

If this is the case for imitating the Hujjaaj, then imagine how much reward we must receive for imitating the Prophet ﷺ! A person receives Paradise and becomes beloved to Allah ta'ala for emulating His Prophet ﷺ.

Unfortunately, we are ashamed to act upon the Sunnah although we should be proud. Whoever is ashamed, his faith is incomplete and he is openly refusing Paradise.

We should learn the Sunnah and teach it to our children. We should keep a book in the house which mentions his Sunnah and read it to our family and make a routine of practicing it.

Allah ta'ala wages war against that person who harbours enmity with His beloved servants. We should respect everyone and avoid challenging and dishonouring the beloveds of Allah ta'ala. We should consider every person the beloved of Allah ta'ala. When we do this, we will never argue or look down upon anyone.

May Allah ta'ala allow us to implement. Ameen
