Today two thirds of Ramadan have been completed alhamdulillah. After a few hours the last third of Ramadan will begin with Allah ta'alas grace. And this last third has its own emotions and feelings. Allah's rewards will rain down in these last 10 days. The first two thirds Allah enabled us to practice and rehearse via the fast and Allah ta'ala explained the habits of the Muttaqi. With the barakah of the fasts those habits have developed into us.
This Asharah is also freedom from the fire of Hell. This means good news for us that Allah ta'ala has given us paradise.

These blessed nights are greater than a thousand months and these nights are for rewarding the muttaqeen. From the odd nights Allah ta'ala hasn't hinted at a specific night. Rather every odd night is the night of Laylatul Qadr. So it's an important night tonight where Allah ta'ala distributes our reward.
The one who is always steadfast on taqwa, imagine his reward in the hereafter! We have worked hard alhamdulillah we have suppressed or desires. We have disobeyed our naf and obeyed Allah's orders. We have developed an awareness of sins. We have the passion to do good deeds. We have the love of Allah. This is the great generosity and mercy of Allah.
One of the signs of the acceptance of repentance is that the person develops such an emotion that his desire increases towards pious things and his heart feels distaste towards evil things to the extent that he doesn't like sitting with those engaged in wrong doing. Rather he prefers to stay distant. The heart feels loss and darkness when sins are sorrounding it.

An englishman became a Muslim and came to me to repent. At that time he had a big desire for music. He said to me I've become a Muslim but i cannot leave music it's my weakpoint so will I still be a muslim?

When a person takes a step towards Allah then those things become beloved to him which are beloved to Allah.

When a person goes far form Allah then he begins to love those things that Allah ta'ala dislikes.

So after some time I met again with this person. Automatically he said to me I've thrown all those things away I dont enjoy those things. Instead i listen to the Quran and I have so many cassettes of Quran.

So taubah is a light which enlightens a person, similar to us who have repented and have reached these last final days. That light is within us and when we leave Ramadan then those things Allah likes we will like and those things Allah dislikes we will also dislike.
This is a sign of sincere taubah that is developed into a person.

The other quality which is mentioned is that a person becomes distant from wasting time and wasteful talk. He becomes immersed in Dhikr. He has much love for the Dhikr of Allah. He leaves all those things Allah tells him to refrain from. He has an awareness of bad and love for good.

Another sign of The Muttaqi which arises in a person;
Due to having taqwa a person develops humility. Pride and riyah (showing off) Is eliminated. He doesn't look towards his worship. He wants to hide his worship and after every action he cries and he accepts that he wasnt capable of fulfilling the worship and wasn't able to fulfil the right of this worship.

On every deed he implements he sees something lacking. He considers himself to be low. He says to himself, "you've done nothing you've wasted your time."

And even though there was no time that he put to waste, he puts himself down. I've heard great Awliyah Allah say this. This recognition is a great ni'mah Allah gives to a person and this comes through taqwa.

Through Ramadan, Allah has permitted us to develop this and make us humble and simplicity arises within us.

In one sitting the Prophet ﷺ would recite istighfar more than 100 times.
No moment would pass where my Shaykh wouldn't recite istighfar. If you put your ear close to him you could hear this.

Hadhrat Aishah رضي الله عنها was the beloved of the beloved of ALLAH and in her room the Prophet ﷺ passed away.
She says that before Nabi ﷺ passed from this world, he said to me "can you please moisten my miswak." She says , " I took the miswak, moistened it and then the Prophet ﷺ chewed on it. Hadhrat Aishah رضي الله عنها says in his final moments mine and the Prophet ﷺ 's saliva met. So she was proud of that. What a great woman she was and Nabi صلي الله عليه وسلم told her to recite this dua on the night of Qadr.
اللهم إنك عفو كريم تحب العفو فاعف عني .
He gave a message through his wife for the entire Ummah.

So Ramadan gives us the lesson to repent to Allah always. On this night we should repent because whatever you attain you will attain after repentance. You can do as much worship as you want as much Dhikr and Quran as you want but if the door of repentance is not accepted the rewards wont be attained. One should repent first and then engage in worship.

So the night of Qadr is the night to revive the feeling of taubah. Make your taubah firm. And bring this dua practically into your life. Oh allah you love to forgive. I repent to you so after today I will live my life correctly according to your orders.

Many people ask which worship shall I do on QADR. Theres no specific worship to do on this night. We can do the same worship which we usually do expect, on this night Allah loves those who repent. Allah gives special forgiveness on these nights.
If you do sincere repentance your previous deeds will be accepted.

The method of repentance is that we should repent, feel sincerely remorseful, and make a firm promise not to repeat that sin again. Such a person is like he was just born from his mothers womb.

Allah loves it when a sinful person asks for forgiveness.

We should promise Allah to remove the wasteful things from our life. Those things shouldn't be in our homes which encourage vice and wrong and evil they should be removed otherwise our fasts were just a rehearsal of staying hungry.

The person who spends Ramadan without asking for forgiveness then his whole life will pass like that and without repentance he will die like that.

May Allah swt grant us the taufeeq! Ameen
