Oh you who believe fasting was prescribed to you and to those before you so that you may remain conscious of Allah and remain Muttaqi.
Allah says I have created a means for you to be corrected to the right path so that you may attain rewards in the Hereafter and be saved from Hellfire. And that task is to attain Taqwa. (Fear of Allah)
Taqwa is the foundation of deen, without Taqwa a person cannot be successful and please Allah and Taqwa Is the main objective of life.
What is Taqwa?
To have such an awareness and consciousness in the hearts whereby reflecting before performing any deed, will this deed of mine please Allah or displease Allah?
This is the awareness a person needs to create and if he possesses such then he has begun his journey to become a Muttaqqi.

Allah has given us a task in Ramadan to develop taqwa and fear of Allah.
After Ramadan we must analyse if we have attained the qualities and characteristics of taqwa. If the signs are evident on us and have been developed within us then our Ramadan will become a brilliant Ramadan. If those signs of taqwa are not evident with us then the situation is a bit upside down.

What are the signs of a Muttaqi?
الَّذِينَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِالْغَيْبِ

Faith (imaan) with the foundation of taqwa and faith devoid of Taqwa are 2 different things. And the difference is that a Muttaqi has much faith in Allah and his imaan increases with his taqwa to the extent that he readily accepts the commands and instructions of Allah and his Prophet

He accepted before, but the difference is - previously, if he was encouraged to do any shariee deed, he would present an excuse in order not to perform it.
This was the imaan Prior to having taqwa.

Today It is famously said by people when you tell them to do something; "where is this written in the scripture? These are made up stories of the Molanas. How will we survive in the world and progress with the times? We will become backwards. We need dunya and the hereafter"

Such statements wasteful slogans are said by those who dont have taqwa as they do not accept thier mistakes. Yet they say "I have imaan as I've recited the kalimah."
This is the imaan which is devoid of the fear of Allah.

Once taqwa is developed he will gain awareness, recognition and consciousness such that he will begin to accept his mistakes and will no longer say ," where is it written in the scriptures? Why do I have to keep a beard?"
The woman will realise her duty to observe purdah and she will feel shame.
So the first step of taqwa is to acknowledge the wrongdoing.

So there is a difference in imaan before and after attaining taqwa.

Soon a muttaqis imaan strenghtens to the point where he feels fear in missing out performing an action. This is the task Ramadan has given to us.

1st sign of taqwa - a person possesses imaan
2nd sign - He realises his mistakes
3rd - :"he establishes salaah"
After ramadan he should be in a habit of never abandoning a prayer in his life, be it man or woman.
If he takes this gift of Ramadan then alhamdulillah he has attained success.

After iman, the greatest factor is salaah. Hadhrat Abdullah ibn masud رضي الله عنه says the prophet ﷺ was asked, " what is the most important thing after iman?"and the prophet ﷺ replied 'salah.'
How great this deed is that the Prophet ﷺ has given a beautiful example of Salah, saying " Salaah is the coolness of my eyes."
This expression is an example of love. For example when one sees something he loves, his eyes cool down.

The Prophet ﷺ loved Salah and it was extremely dear to him. This was the height of his love for prayer.
Today we say we are lovers of the prophet ﷺ but we abandon prayer.

The thing which your beloved likes automatically becomes beloved to you.
If your beloved said "I love flowers" then automatically you'll also begin to love it.
And this was the trait of the noble sahabah رضي الله عنهم.
Whatever Nabi ﷺ liked, that became thier life.

So when Nabi ﷺ departed from this world, his last words were "salaah, salaah" (protect your salah) this is such an important worship which we shouldn't abandon.

The entire life of a believer rotates upon Salah. If you take Salah out muslims are destroyed. This is the foundation of our life. Without salah there is no life.
Theres an example:
Hadrath Hussain رضي الله عنه was tested severely at Qarbala yet he was worried about his Salah!

We abandon prayer nowadays then wonder why we are afflicted by calamities.
Allah has given us the task of improving our Salah in Ramadan hence we have been told to pray Taraweeh so we can increase in nafil and make it a habit outside Ramadan too!

(Hadith)
The one who abandons his prayer out of laziness and negligence is given 15 punishments.
5 in this world, 3 at the time of death, 3 in the grave and 3 when the person comes out the grave.
( besides the one who intentionally misses his Salah as such a person has reached the boundary of kufr.)
Another hadith,
Nabi ﷺ for the one who doesn't pray my responsibility has been lifted from him.

From amonst the punishments of the world, the 1st will be that the blessings will be uplifted from his life. He may have money, cars, status, but alongside that he will be crying, argumentation, disputes at home as well as distresses.
He may have all the money but the hadith is Haqq without a shadow of a doubt!

Those who do not pray Salah, there is no blessings for them.

2nd punishment of the world) Nur is removed from his face. And this nur is Allah swt"s special mercy.

3rd punishment) Whatever deed he does, he will not achieve it. It will evaporate and he wont be successful. If he does a good deed Allah diminishes the reward from him.
But if he does that deed alongside praying his Salah he will receive the rewards.

People say "we dont pray but at least we dont backbite" i do other good deeds etc.
But Allah removes the rewards from those deeds.

4th punishment)
Allah does not answer the prayer of a person who doesnt pray his Salah.

5th punishment) If he asks the pious to make dua for him even those duas wont be accepted.

Allah gives us chances, admonishments and advices and small problems in order to warn us, but if we do not take heed then Allah gives us mass punishment like Corona.
Have you ever witnessed a punishment in your life whereby a man cannot meet his family? He cannot even go to the masjid to perform his salaah.
Have you ever seen a greater punishment than this?

1st sign of imaan- his imaan is strengthened and accepts Allahs orders.
2nd sign of imaan - is that he begins to pray Salah.

If we would like to observe whether our Ramadan was successful we need to analyse if we possess these qualities.

We must promise to improve our prayers this Ramadan so that we may be saved from punishment through performing our salaah.
May we attain strengthening of imaan so are Salah are solid after Ramadan. Ameen
