One example of fana Fi Shaykh is of our Hazrat Sahib Mashallah
5th Dec, 2019
4 types of Tawajjuh (special Attention) special Gaze of the Sheikh on the mureed

1 In'aqaasi
Through Zikr, Reflection of the shaykh, through company you Gain Faiz (blessings/Results) and this one is temporary (can increase or decrease)
Like a hen giving eggs, has to sit on them if a egg is removed from under the hen it won't produce

2 Ilqaee regardless of where you are the guidance of the Sheikh is with you, the sheikh Attention/tawajjuh reaches you even if he is in Aalam e Barzakh

Like a crocodile remains far away from its eggs in the water but with its attention the eggs produce

3 Islahi
Changes the condition of your heart, takes you out of darkness (sins) into light (piety)
This is your outer Actions and your inner actions e.g Akhlaq e razeela to Akhlaq e Hamida (reformed charecter)

4 Ittihadi
You become like the Shaykh, Fanaa. Like the Nan Bhai who became like his sheikh (Baqi Billah) or the like the Tawajjuh Ibraheem ibn Adham gave his son

When you go into line of Tazkiyah, become a student with a teacher, your sheikh. End goal is pleasure of Allah. In this line, after repentance, most important thing is to have strong relationship with your Sheikh - rabta-sheikh.

Rabat-Sheikh has four components.
• BELIEF, conviction in him, that he will help you to Allah, he's the greatest Sheikh, greatest human being. That way, shaitaan's whispers can't get to you. If you have negative thoughts then realise that your belief in your sheikh is weak, shaitan has found crack and dived in.
• LOVE
• SERVICE
• OBEDIENCE, his words inscribed in rocks, no argument - like sahabah with Rasoolullah (saws).

Reflect and increase these points. Just like at school, need to study properly, else will fail. Nowadays people take bayat and never see their Sheikh again. Big up their sheikh. No point. Not tasawwuf. Also, tasawwuf is not some separate part of Islam, some sect - it's like other deeni paths, quran, fiqh, ie all about following shariah. There are terms and conditions to follow - main point is to get ongoing faiz/blessing from your sheikh. Faiz is the soul/root/lifeline of tasawwuf. There are 4 levels/phases of this faiz

1 AQASI
Gets reflection from sheikh, positive influence, Faiz when in Sheikh's company (like when in muraqabah, get Faiz of their tajaliyat). Student does dhikr, leaves sins, attain love of Rasoolullah (saws) - heart becomes clean. Such students far greater than those without teacher, better ibadat etc, because heart getting cleaned. Then heart starts to sparkle, such that when see your sheikh, like a mirror which fully reflect image, you fully reflect your Sheikh's qualities. Non-mureed doesn't have this, even if next to Sheikh. If connection strong, rabta-sheikh increases. Just like we polish mirror for pure reflection, we polish hearts so much that it's a pure mirror to our Sheikh. If reflection not good, your fault, haven't cleaned your heart properly. Even animals benefit from friends of Allah, but student weak in rabta (belief, love, obedience). When good mirror, feel it in dhikr majaalis - makes you run to them, like fish to water.

Problem is that when not in company, get weak, get lax, start sinning. Leave majaalis for a while, get like this. Therefore...

2 AL-QA'EE

Work hard on all 4 elements of rabta, and question yourself when it gets WEAK - why don't I believe my, Sheikh when he says something , why don't I love him. With Level 1, will lose everything after few days without company. When work hard, get this level 2 which, unlike a mirror with temporary reflection, is like a lamp. Fuel is dhikr, burning element is sincerity, and company of Sheikh is spark that starts it off. In this company, will burn with light of your sheikh, and continue burning when leave - as long as fuel and burning element stay intact. Then, even go away for a while, for holiday etc, stay intact and strong because lamp is burning.

Are we like this? Do we discard jamaat, eg when go abroad? Still a problem though - lamp is susceptible to blustery wind - trials and tribulations of life. Solution? Work harder, to strengthen your level. Like Hadhrat Sahib, met boro Hadhrat saahib once a year, 3000 miles apart. We make excuses that went abroad, met relatives, got lax on shariah. Lamp blown out.

Like with sheets, we should analyse ourselves and find out why we get weak. We should be rock hard. No point having big deeni titles, Sheikh, qutb etc, worry about your grave. Rasoolullah (saws) told even Hadhrat Fatimah (ra) not to think that being their daughter would save them. Never be satisfied with your ibadat, worry about grave.

3 ISLAAHI

Correction, reformation. Very strong level. Unlike lamp, you're a river connected to the ocean/fountain of your sheikh, strong connection in getting faiz. Never dry up.

(Note that your sheikh is your fountain, not your grandfather Sheikh. Even if Hadhrat Kizr comes, doesn't matter. Won't get faiz from anyone else, whatever their status - disrespectful to do so. Just like want children from a women who's not your wife, not possible.)

With this level, connection very strong, wherever you are. River flow so forceful, boulders and rocks can't stop it - will be washed away. I.e. sins will be pushed away with force, you won't break shariah, won't go near sin.

4 ITTIHADI

When immersed in love of Allah and love of Rasoolullah (saws). Goes beyond the river. Everywhere and every action he does is like his Sheikh - 100%. Story of student of Hadhrat Thanvi who wanted dream of Rasoolullah (saws), and saw them, but with face of his Sheikh - because link so strong.

----

So, where are we? Have we assessed ourselves? Listen to these bayans again - words of ilham. When Allah loves someone, gives them this knowledge. Stop wasting time just going through life eating and drinking. We're stuck in this trap, don't want to improve ourselves. Need to strengthen our Rabta
