Anything to remind you of Allah, salah etc, is zikr, but special status to do just ismizaat, ie say just Allah. Those that do so stop end of world. Mishkat hadith, say Allah, Allah (ie repeated), main zikr of Naqshbandi silsila, have to do abundantly. Like washing machine, needs repeated cycles. Same with our sins - either washed with ismizaat or hellfire. Fast destroyed with backbiting.

Another hadith, ismizaat makes soul enlightened, ie dirt goes and barakah of Allah's name enters, and then Allah's maarifat comes, ie full trust that all comes from Allah. That's why those that don't do zikr, immersed in issues, upset, running after dunya solutions - no light, doesn't recognise his Rab, his worship having no effect. Proper recognition means can't accept doing any haram in life. How? From sense, since enlightened. Doesn't love those who do wrong, just like you won't love one who swears at your father - at most, you'll have acquaintance due to formality, but not love.

Also, zikr makes you both love and hate purely for sake of Allah. Any difficulties, always turns to Allah. Speak to Allah. We should do this, make direct discussion. Boro Hadhrat Sahib (said that intention of majlis should be zikr, not bayan, but their voice travelled far without mic) once said that they had done this.

With zikr, duas accepted even without asking, so no need to remember all the things we want to ask. Zikr is our dua. Allah will give what we need, solve our issues. Don't leave this zikr, Allah, Allah.

Sometimes someone who is taught it doesn't take it seriously. Your lataif make your body like a globe of light. All from ismizaat. Do with steadfastness, that's how to undertake this journey. Never leave majlis. Shouldn't need Sheikh to keep reminding you to come. Whatever your issues, whether you feel like or not, always come. Dunya gives ups and downs, don't let it stop you. Don't be a poor student, get a grade A
