Hadith - Ramadhan is great and blessed. Enter it in different way, away from sins. Before we were stuck in dunya, were talking nonsense, doing sins, now in Ramadhan and portion of Jannah - zikr Majlis. Should feel nice in majlis, like going from cold night into warm room, like fish back into water.
Balance sheet - analyse profit vs loss, to assess health of business. Some are cautious in paying people off, some keep taking on debt with abandon. At death, most dangerous thing is to have debt. No janazah for one with debt. Fardh has one point, but qardh/debt has two. Double severity. Never ask for loan - then have easy life, else full of worry. Debt breaks relationships and friendships.

So what makes Allah displeased? Leave this and you will please Allah. Displeasure not from leaving worship, but when you do zulm against another - backbiting, hatred, jealousy, look down on others. With these, no worship accepted. Rights of wife - if she says you've oppressed her, make it right and get forgiveness. So, have we wronged others in these 10 days, or before. Are those we mistreated now happy with us? Wife who does zulm on husband, disobedient, gives him pain, doesn't serve, mocks him, her tahajjud, quran etc is a waste. Allah forgives when you sin against Allah, all year long, but not when you sin against others. Ramadhan, fast make heart soft, so please Him by doing good to others, benefit others.
Sahabi, who only had 20 days sohbat with Rasoolullah (saws), went to buy horse. Offered 700 dirhams for 300 dirham horse, since latter was real value and he realised that seller was in some need and so had knocked down price! What do we do? We take advantage, offer less. But look at style of this sahabi. They realised seller was in need, and asked them their issue so that they could make dua for them. So have we done this in these 10 days, or just fasted and eaten nice food? So, true person helps others. Seller told sahabi that getting daughters married, so need money. Do we have this tender heartedness? Then seller asked sahabi why he raised price, assuming he would take advantage.
Sahabi said that he had 20 days in companionship of best Sheikh (saws). Took company, and life changed. That's point of bayat. Mureed, zikr etc is good, but have you improved? Zikr, zikr and years of company is useless without improvement. One sight of your Sheikh should be enough to change you. Happens when student is sincere in wanting to improve, leave sins - they get engulfed in ocean of blessing. Same with Ramadhan - sincerity means desire to please Allah, not worried about food. Every second of Ramadhan is blessed, not just tahajjud etc.
Sahabi said that he was given advice from Rasoolullah (saws) - do good to people, give benefit to them. This is your main worship, doors of Jannah will open up for you. Ramadhan hasn't come for physical ibadat, taraweeh etc, but spiritual ibadat, how to do good to others.
Stop counting fasts, quran juz's etc, and see if you've been good to others. Wife should say you look beautiful, your enemy should be happy to see you. Forgive those who oppressed you. Write-off loans for those who are struggling, even give them more money to help.
