Allah states "ask of Me, so that I give to you". Dua strengthens bond with Allah. But shaitan makes you feel down - makes you feel that your duas not accepted etc. Feeling down is sign that shaitan has got a hold, not befitting of Muslim. We should leave it to Allah. Wait. Just like when put in request for loan, and then wait for response, when it's your turn. How about when we put request to Allah? Same thing.
We have ups and downs. Argument with wife, kids on one hand, the happy times on the other. That's life. Always turn straight to Allah in dua. How? When in good times, aafiyah, we become like animals, our duas become superficial. Should do dua properly 5 times a day every day, after salah. That's reason to come masjid for salaah.
