Sometimes we do sin without even realising or caring. Hadith - curse be on... (curse, no mercy, severe situation) those who resemble opposite gender. Severe punishment for this, yet seen as progressive nowadays.
Men and women have different styles, not mingled like today. Hair style etc. Men even apply talc, make up etc. Even common items like cardigan, watch, glasses, shoes, socks, are different, and worn differently (left/right) in society. No beard - like women. Even colours are different. But people see it as backwards if we stick to our gender style.
Worship is only one small part of Islam. Be careful. No point doing loads of worship if cursed from this sin. That's why need shaikh - makes sure you're not going down paths like this. Gatherings of friends of Allah, you'll never leave empty handed. You'll recognise sins such as the aforementioned.
