If your clothes are dirty etc, despite having washing machine etc, you haven't properly prepared yourself. In same way, Allah gives us Ramadhan, Dhil Hijjah as means for salvation. Good deeds in first 10 days of Dhil Hijjah most beloved to Allah. If have proper iman, we know about azaab of hell from sins, so we'd run to take this opportunity.
One fast - reward of whole year fast. Imagine!
Nights - stay awake for ibadat, reward for laylatul qadr. No need to search for it - every night! Reward of doing hajj and Umrah all year long!
We run for bounties in dunya, but waste. Father earns, family spend and spoil it with cars, watches etc - azaab on ummah. Allah doesn't like this earning - sacrifice your aakhirah for dunya, no yaqeen. Just like mureed who disobey Sheikh, doesn't bother - no link, not mureed. Sincere, try, struggle, then gain. Highest class of person are those following path of Ihsaan. Their salaah, ibadat different level - at least have yaqeen that Allah watching them, spiritual graduation.

Rasoolullah (saws) said he got reward of freeing 100 slaves, and more. So, we should fast to attain forgiveness. Biggest thing in these days is to leave sin, so not dishonouring them
