Rasoolullah (saws) on miraj saw someone immersed in light of Allah's throne. Asked Jibreel (as) if angel? No. Prophet? No. Was an ummati who had certain habit. We should make effort to be like this person - we can even do long fast in hot weather, and we did with ease. What is habit? Did dhikr of Allah REGULARLY and ALWAYS! Best way is with a teacher, as with anything. Regularly doesn't mean lots, but regular, morning and evening. Don't even need wudhu. Dhikr purifies, will remove your sins and convert to good deeds!
