And sheikh desires for a student to come, but doesn't always happen - Allah selects. Need to love your Sheikh. Sheikh never reject his children. Love is more than with parents. Why? Parent/child is this life, but sheikh/student love eternal. On Judgement Day, you'll be standing under the banner of your sheikh. Even if little ibaadat, dhikr, always have the love. Hadith - will be with those your love in aakhirah, whatever the difference in ibaadat. Subhanallah! If this love is valued, nurtured. Follow your sheikh's guidance. Keep trying.
Some students follow nafs and pretend to be sheikh, teach dhikr with no permission etc. Big azaab for them. Real Sheikh, Allah selects.
What is Sheikh? Tabligh and purification by dhikr. Removes darkness. And they have different statuses. Fully accept your Sheikh. They won't reveal their status to you. Bore Huzoor showed someone in dream, they spat and whole gap between heavens and earth filled with light.
Keep making effort. Dhikr, sunnah, halal risq, maintain love. We're weak, get lazy etc but keep slogging away, stick to silsila.
