It is our nature to be creatures of habit. Some of us can't start the days without a cup of tea, or can't sleep without a glass of milk, etc.

In the same way, we should make it a habit to do the dhikr that has been prescribed to us. We should have consistency. Take the example of the great friend of Allah, Hadhrat Ibrahim bin Adam. One night he missed his Dhikr, and as a result he felt his inner self was hidden, like in fog. And as punishment, he missed his Fardh salaah. This was just for missing his Dhikr once, and yet we do it all the time.

Once you make a habit of doing your wazaif, Allah says it becomes INGRAINED in you, such that you will feel uneasy if you don't do it. Even if, say, you have guests, and have not done it on time, you will still do it, even at 3 in the morning. Congratulations to those that make this habit, morning and evening - you are nourishing your soul, just as we have to nourish our stomachs.

Finally, if there are gatherings of Dhikr taking place in your locality with your Sheikh, how can you even think about doing your wazaif somewhere else instead?
