In society, we have created our own criteria regarding who is respected and honourable. However, in reality, we do not know who is better and who holds a higher status in the eyes of Allah ta'ala.
In this world, we expect status and respect due to our worldly achievements. However, in the Hereafter, those truly deserving of success will be those who had the intellect to understand the purpose of this life and lived their lives preparing for the Hereafter. They spent their lives following the Qur'an and Sunnah properly. Their true status will be unveiled in the Hereafter.
Allah ta'ala has granted us guidance so that we can prepare for the Hereafter, as He does not want us to fail. However, we are immersed in the world and therefore do not pay attention to this advice. Instead, we try to attain the worldly standards of power, status and success. In order to attain these things, we may lie, compromise and do all sorts of things. We become concerned with pleasing others.
Those who possess wisdom take the guidance of Allah ta'ala seriously and prepare for the Hereafter. We should not be overly concerned with acquiring worldly achievements. A person who appears to have failed in this world may actually be successful in the Hereafter.
The Day of Judgement will be a severe day for us, as our accounting will take place. We will not care about who is around us. Death is merely a gateway that leads us into the Hereafter. The real challenges begin after death. There are many stages and phases that we will have to pass through after death.
If we prepare ourselves today, this preparation can lead us all the way to Paradise.
Neglect and laziness are what cause us to abandon the laws of Allah ta'ala. We are not sufficiently concerned about the Hereafter. Allah ta'ala will have our deeds weighed upon the scale in the Hereafter, and we will be rewarded. However, we will also be reckoned as to whether our deeds were sincere and genuine.
Allah ta'ala does not burden us with more than we can bear. We are required to pray five times a day in the manner stipulated by Allah ta'ala. Even if a person is unable to pray with the utmost concentration and perfection, they must still fulfil their obligation and strive to improve their prayer.
When a child reaches the age of seven, they should be taught to pray on time and attend the congregation. This should be one of our main concerns as parents.
Abdaal are a category of the AwliyahAllah. They were very respected people. Allah ta'ala would readily accept their supplications, and it is due to the supplications of the pious that the world continues to exist despite the grave sins that we commit. Allah ta'ala delays punishment for the people of the world due to the presence of the pious amongst them.
They may be mocked and ridiculed by society and may not be recognised as good or important people, yet they can have a very high rank in the eyes of Allah ta'ala.
A person should not merely ask the AwliyahAllah for Duas; rather, he should strive to earn their Duas. Those who serve their teacher and assist in the work of Deen gain the Duas of the Sheikh. Those who served the AwliyahAllah in this world will be granted a high rank in the Hereafter.
We should learn how to perform Khidmat of the WaliAllah.
It is a shame that we are immersed in sins. We do not care about what we are earning. We commit fraud and consume interest openly. We are overwhelmed by the world. We sell our knowledge and compromise our Deen simply to attain worldly status.
When a person assigns himself to Allah ta'ala with sincerity, the WaliAllah also remembers that person. When a person visits the AwliyahAllah, they can attain benefit in both worlds.
A sincere person may also attain worldly achievements through the company of the Sheikh. However, this itself is a test, and we should never prefer the world over the Hereafter. We should prefer the Hereafter and make it our priority.
We have little concern for attaining the honour of the Hereafter. It is our choice whether we wish to attain the honour of the Hereafter and prepare ourselves in this world in order to achieve it.
In Hadith Qudsi Shareef, Allah ta'ala, the Exalted, says on the Day of Resurrection: “Today the people of the gathering will know who the people of honour are.”
It was asked, “Who are the people of honour, O Messenger of Allah ﷺ?”
He ﷺ said, “The gatherings of remembrance (dhikr) in the mosques.” [Musnad Ahmad Shareef]
The Noble Companions were so humble and sincere that they never considered themselves to be great individuals. They were always eager to listen and receive advice from the Prophet ﷺ.
The Dhikr gatherings have been established, and there are currently thirteen places in this country where people are remembering Allah ta'ala. This is the Faiz of Qutub ul Aqtaab, Hadhrat Sheikh Ali Murtaza Rahmatullahi alayh.
It is a shame that we do not have sufficient passion or appreciation for these gatherings. On the Day of Judgement, Allah ta'ala will announce the honour of the AwliyahAllah, their attendants and those who protected the Khankah.
We should value and appreciate Dhikr and the gatherings of Dhikr.
Allah ta'ala will honour their names, and in the Hereafter, people will regret why they did not partake in Dhikr.
Dhikr will always benefit a person, regardless of what state or circumstance they may be in.
We should aim to spread the Deen through Dhikr and not merely through knowledge. When a person sits in the company of those whose names have been revived, they themselves become revived.
May Allah ta'ala allow us to implement these precious pearls of wisdom and grant us the honour of the Hereafter. Ameen.
