Bayan After Dhuhr in Manchester

Performing dhikr at all times is a Sunnah. If we see any gathering of dhikr, we should join that gathering. If you are alone and free from work, then you should engage in dhikr as much as you can according to your capacity. We should turn towards dhikr instead of turning towards our phones, TV, and politics.

The Prophet ﷺ did not select a specific time for dhikr; rather, he ﷺ was always in a state of dhikr.

The true Naqshbandi follows the Sunnah in every aspect of life — in eating, drinking, trade, and worship. It is essential that we engage in dhikr constantly. Therefore, whenever we are free from work, we should adopt the practice of dhikr.

There is a very easy method of dhikr which may be performed anywhere, and that is Muraqabah. This was also the practice of the noble companions, who would never miss a gathering of dhikr.

One should learn Muraqabah and perform it whenever the opportunity arises, even inside the mosque. A person should not engage in futile activities in the mosque. He should avoid succumbing to the whispers of Shaytan, which may tempt him to debate and quarrel with others. Unfortunately, this is common within our community.

Wherever we see something wrong, we should separate ourselves from it.

We should never engage closely or befriend those who do not practice and those who criticise dhikr. Avoid such people, because befriending them can negatively affect you.

A person should suffice himself with one job to earn wealth. One should seek education, and Allah ta'ala will naturally provide a job within that profession or career. Trust that Allah ta'ala will provide for you without needing to take on multiple jobs.

A person should remain content with what he earns and remain within the profession that Allah ta'ala has selected for him. The remainder of his time should be spent in dhikr. One should avoid chasing excessive wealth, otherwise he will become distracted by pursuing multiple avenues of earning.

It is the duty of parents to teach their children how to live their lives correctly. Parents should not force their children into specific professions; rather, they should allow them to choose a career they desire. Earning is a part of Deen. Likewise, children should not be forced to become Huffaz.

We should also not seek Islamic knowledge solely for the purpose of earning through teaching. A person should work with his hands in order to fulfil his needs. The house of Allah ta'ala should not become merely a source of income for us.

If a person becomes a Mawlana, he should work and serve the people instead of sitting upon a throne.

We should not rely solely upon earnings from teaching the Deen, such as teaching the Qur’an, while depending on government benefits. This is not sufficient. Rather, it is part of Deen to learn a skill and pursue education in order to earn wealth lawfully.

We must provide for our wives and children. If we earn for the sake of Deen while neglecting the needs of our families, then there will be no blessings in our wealth.

We should keep the dunya and Deen separate. A person should attain a job and remain committed to it. He should not constantly change professions. A person should be honest and sincere, and Allah ta'ala will grant him everything through that work, whether he becomes rich or poor. This is how blessings are attained.

We should not imitate or compare ourselves with others, otherwise our balance in life will be ruined.

Thereafter, earning wealth in order to live our lives is itself an act of worship. We should ensure that our work is lawful and that we remain honest in our trade.

It is often better to work as an employee rather than run a business, because it can be difficult to remain completely honest in trade and avoid lying.

It is haram to falsely claim money from the government, and there is no barakah in such wealth. A person should not use such money to feed his children, otherwise it may become a cause of conflict within the family.

Worship is not merely sitting at home performing dhikr. True worship is when the hands are occupied with worldly affairs while the heart remains connected to Allah ta'ala, even during working hours.

May Allah ta'ala allow us to implement these precious pearls of wisdom. Ameen.
