Human beings may appear similar outwardly, yet every person is unique within. Every heart is different from another heart.
When a person develops a strong connection with Allah ta'ala and deeply recognizes His divine attributes, he becomes a unique and elevated human being. Such a believer is granted the ability to distinguish
truth from falsehood. His heart becomes purified, refined, and spiritually enlightened. He not only benefits himself but also becomes a means of purification and benefit for others. This is the definition of the friends of Allah (Awliya Allah).
What is the sign of a friend of Allah? The first sign is true belief in Allah ta'ala and sincere worship of Him alone. Every believer is, in essence, a Wali of Allah because of his faith, and every believer will ultimately enter Paradise. Howev
er, it is unfortunate if a believer fails to uphold this friendship with Allah and must first spend time in Hellfire before entering Paradise.
Allah ta'ala cares for us in every way and fulfills our needs. Therefore, we should not fear the trials and challenges of life, for Allah has promised reward for those who persevere patiently through hardships.
Rather than merely hoping for Paradise after punishment, we should aim for the highest station: to enter Paradise immediately upon death. We should never settle for anything less.
In reality, it is often easier for a Muslim to perform acts of worship than to commit sin. For example, making wudu, performing salah, and engaging in dhikr are simple and
accessible acts. By contrast, committing sins often requires effort and planning. Even simple acts of worship can elevate a person to a high rank in Paradise.
Dua is an extremely important means of drawing close to Allah ta'ala. It is the gateway to success, and through dua a person can attain anything.
In this world, we are required to strive and then seek from Allah before receiving. In Paradise, however, a person will only need to think of a desire, and the angels will bring it to him before his tongue even moves.
We must build a strong connection with Allah ta'ala by establishing the five daily prayers. Every moment that passes without remembering Allah is, in reality, a loss for the believer, and these lost moments may become a source of regret in the Hereafter.
Allah ta'ala instructs us not to become overly anxious about earning sustenance, for He has already decreed what is written in our destiny. We may spend our lives gathering wealth, yet soon after our departure from this world it will be distributed among our loved on
es. Therefore, we should seek only what is sufficient for our needs.
No matter our age, we should make a firm commitment to remain steadfast in gatherings of dhikr. Through this, Allah ta'ala will transform our sins into good deeds.
The Awliya Allah live with caution, fear of Allah ta'ala, and grief over their shortcomings. Their greatest honor is their fear of Allah ta'ala and their sorrow over their own actions. The more a person imitates the Prophet ﷺ, the stronger his connection with Allah becomes.
This fear is not worldly fear. A believer first believes in Allah ta'ala and then demonstrates that belief practically by abstaining from what is unlawful. Such a believer remains firm even if he faces hunger, poverty, business loss, or family difficulties. He does not fear worldly losses. These are the Awliya Allah.
This was the example of the Noble Companions رضي الله عنهم. They never grieved over abandoning haram or sacrificing worldly comforts for the sake of Allah. They understood that this world is a test and that they would so
on return to Allah.
On the other hand, there is no greater coward than the one who knowingly commits what Allah ta'ala has prohibited.
The true purpose of life is to attain the friendship of Allah in this world. Though we may face trials here, the reward awaiting us in the Hereafter is far greater.
The first person to enter Hellfire will be a scholar who failed to act upon his knowledge. Therefore, we must reflect deeply upon our own actions.
We should maintain our friendship with Allah regardless of whether our supplications are accepted immediately or not. We should not make demands and then complain when we do not receive what we desire.
Today, many people mock the Sunnah. We may not fully realize the severity of this, but such actions can weaken faith and lead to severe punishment in the Hereafter.
Repentance is one of the greatest gifts available to us. We must make use of this opportunity while it remains open. We should never abandon the Deen out of fear of the dunya.
Why were the pious granted miracles?
The miracles of the Awliya Allah are true. Allah ta'ala does not grant miracles to elevate their status in the eyes of people, nor merely so others may regard them as pious.
Rather, those who are steadfast on Shariah, through them, Allah ta'ala helps the pious with th
eir work of the Deen.
Miracles are often granted to the Mashayikh when society has become deeply corrupted and overwhelmed by worldly distractions. Allah selects the Awliya to revive and spread the Deen, influencing society positively.
The greatest miracle of the Prophet ﷺ, of which he was most proud, was the Qur’an and Sunnah and this miracle has been distributed to his nation. The AwliyahAllah are the true inheritors of both.
Without love, a person cannot truly obey.
Only when a person possesses love for Allah ta'ala and His Messenger ﷺ can he sincerely obey both. Success in life lies only in implementing the Sunnah. Everything is gained through following the Sunnah.
A person who abandons the Sunnah becomes most disliked to the Prophet ﷺ, even if physically close to his blessed grave. The true miracle of a complete Wali of Allah is that he teaches according to the Qur’an and Sunnah.
The message of Hadhrat Ali Murtaza رحمة الله عليه is that dhikr is not performed merely to gain reward. Rather, dhikr is performed so that love for Allah and His Messenger ﷺ is strengthened within the heart. If this love is not instilled, then one’s dhikr has not achieved its purpose.
He further states that if a person begins to dislike sins and develops a desire for good deeds, Sunnah, and worship, then his dhikr is accepted. If this transformation is abs
ent, then the dhikr is lacking in effect.
We should repent today and realize that our dhikr is wasted if we do not properly benefit from our Sheikh.
Only a complete Wali of Allah can truly spread the Sunnah. We should join this blessed silsilah while we still have the opportunity.
We should value our Sheikh and this precious opportunity. We should strive for a high spiritual rank as believers by reforming ourselves through the guidance of a Sheikh, attending the khanqah with proper manners, performing dhikr, and receiving spiritual blessings (faiz).
From the etiquettes of being in the company of the Sheikh is that one remains in muraqabah and draws spiritual benefit from him. One should not engage in voluntary prayers or idle gossip in his presence. Time in the Sheikh’s company should never be wasted, as such an opportunity may not return.
Spend time in isolation and do not become overwhelmed by worldly worries. Abandon haram and trust that Allah ta'ala will provide for you.
There was once a classmate of Hadhrat Mujaddid Alf Thani رحمة الله عليه, who himself was a khalifah of Hadhrat Baqi Billah رحمة الله عليه and a highly elevated Sheikh blessed with spiritual visions.
Once, he came into the presence of Hadhrat Mujaddid Alf Thani رحمة الله عليه, and immediately the spiritual effects of his dhikr overcame him to such an extent that the entire land began to shake.
Hadhrat Mujaddid Alf Thani رحمة الله عليه instructed his attendant to bring his miswak, as it is considered disrespectful to display one’s own miracles before one’s Sheikh.
When the miswak was placed upon the ground, the other Sheikh immediately regained composure and the earth ceased shaking.
Hadhrat Mujaddid Alf
Thani then said:
“O Sheikh, your status is indeed very high that the earth shakes through your spiritual state. However, the one who adheres to the Sunnah—his single miswak can stop the earth from shaking.”
He further said:
“If I wished, by the permission of Allah, I could command all those buried in this graveyard to rise from their graves. Allah has granted me such ability. However, this is not the objective. Through adherence to the Sunnah, symbolized by this miswak, everything can be controlled.”
In reality, reviving the Sunnah during times of severe corruption is the greatest miracle.
Practicing even a single Sunnah during a time of fitnah grants the reward of one hundred martyrs.
Through the Sunnah, our homes can be cleansed of quarrels and disputes, as it teaches us to control our anger and conduct ourselves with wisdom.
We must remain firm upon the truth no matter what hardships we face. We must avoid advancing towards Haraam.
We must learn sacrifice and become accustomed to hardship and simplicity.
Whoever learns sacrifice will no longer fear the world and will attain a high rank in the Hereafter.
The believer who no longer fears worldly losses and instead places complete reliance upon Allah ta'ala becomes spiritually strong. Every challenge faced while standing firm upon the truth only elevates one’s status.
May Allah ta'ala grant us the ability to implement these precious pearls of wisdom.
Ameen.
