Jewels of Ramadhan 2026- Episode 33

If a person recites Durood Shareef even once, in any form, the angels carry that Durood and present it in the blessed court of the Prophet ﷺ. The Prophet ﷺ then prays for forgiveness for the person who recited the Durood and for their parents.

When reciting Durood Shareef, we should keep in mind that our Durood is immediately conveyed to the Prophet ﷺ.

Durood Ibrahim is one of the most excellent forms of Durood Shareef. Therefore, it is the form we should prefer and recite whenever sending Durood.

When a person recites Durood Shareef once, Allah ta‘ala sends ten mercies upon him, raises his status by ten levels, forgives ten of his sins, and records ten good deeds for him. If a person is negligent in reciting Durood, he misses out on all of these great rewards.

The greatest disease that consumes our faith is negligence and laziness. These qualities weaken our faith and cause it to decline.

What is negligence?
Negligence is when a person wishes to practise their faith and even claims that they are trying their best, but they do not feel motivated or inclined to do it.

If a person remains seated after the Fajr prayer, engages in Dhikr until the sunrise and then offers two or four units of prayer, he will be granted the reward of fulfilling one Hajj and one Umrah. This great reward is granted to the one who sacrifices his sleep for the sake of these acts of worship.

In ordinary circumstances, we cannot be certain that our Hajj and Umrah are completely free from errors or shortcomings. However, performing this act after Fajr, grants the reward of an accepted Hajj and Umrah, along with all the rewards.

Perhaps we cannot witness Makkah and Madinah Shareef, however, we can still experience the enjoyment of the Holy lands. We must acquire this feeling wherever we are, no matter how far. By experiencing this spiritual connection, we are granted the full reward and blessings as if we were there.

Negligence and laziness are what stop us from performing good deeds. We should reflect and hold ourselves accountable. Why do we diligently engage in worldly activities, yet neglect actions that benefit us in the Hereafter, which lead to Paradise? While we may feel lazy about worldly matters, we must never be lazy when it comes to the Hereafter. By rising from our beds and reciting “Allahu Akbar” three times, we can soon overcome this laziness and energize ourselves for acts of worship.

Whoever is steadfast upon these gatherings, has attained everything.

On the authority of Hadhrat Abu Razin رضي الله عنه, he said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him,
"Shall I not guide you to the key to this matter by which you will attain the good of this world and the Hereafter? Attend the gatherings of the people of Dhikr (remembrance of Allah), and when you are alone, move your tongue as much as you can in the remembrance of Allah..." [Mishkat Shareef]

In general, gatherings of Dhikr are rare. When we do come across them, we should make every effort and even make sacrifices to attend because the Prophet ﷺ has assured that such attendance brings success and blessings.

May Allah ta'ala allow us to implement these precious pearls of wisdom. Ameen
