Episode 26

We repeat one Kalimah several times during the Dhikr gathering and there are many benefits in doing so. These Kalimaat are so powerful that in reality, they do not need to be repeated several times. If a Non Muslim was to recite the Kalimah Shahadah once, it would be sufficient to make him a Muslim.

In a Hadith, it is mentioned that in the Hereafter, a person will appear before Allah ta'ala and all his deeds will be displayed, including the ones he forgot about. He will see only his sins and none of his good deeds. These will then be weighed on the scale of deeds. Allah ta'ala will ask him whether he acknowledges all of his actions, and he will confirm them. At that moment, he will expect that he is about to be sent to the Hellfire.

After this, a deed will be placed on his scale of deeds that will outweigh all of his sins and lead to his entry into Paradise. The man will ask Allah ta'ala about this deed, and Allah ta'ala will inform him that it is the weight of a single Kalimah that he recited with sincerity during his lifetime.

One Kalimah recited with sincerity was sufficient to lead him to Paradise!

Thus, the pious predecessors state that the greatest benefit of repeating it is to ensure that at least once a person recites it with sincerity and attains success in the Hereafter.

We should strive to change our state when reciting and ensure that we do so with sincerity and passion.

We should not overlook the opportunity to be in the company of our Sheikh, as Allah ta'ala grants us such blessings and opportunities out of His mercy.

The gatherings of Dhikr are essential. We must partake in them with steadfastness.

Sometimes we do not feel like attending the Dhikr gatherings. We may feel demotivated, perhaps due to the problems we are facing in life, yet we still push ourselves to attend the gathering. After it finishes, our condition improves and we feel better.

The pious predecessors state that a person may make up for all missed acts of worship, however, one cannot make up for missing the opportunity to be in the company of his Sheikh. We do not know where the mercy of Allah ta'ala lies or through whom a person may be forgiven. It may be that a person was destined to be forgiven due to the company of his Sheikh.

The main purpose of worship is to attain forgiveness from Him, and He wishes to see how we seek this forgiveness. Certain deeds grant a person forgiveness whenever he engages in them, such as being in the company of one’s Sheikh at any time.

We should always be concerned with attaining forgiveness, and we must be willing to sacrifice whatever comes our way to seize the opportunity of being in the company of our Sheikh.

We should not limit ourselves to a single deed, expecting that through it alone we will attain forgiveness. Rather, we should engage in various actions and seize opportunities that benefit our Hereafter, striving through multiple deeds to earn Allah ta'ala’s forgiveness.

Allah ta'ala's mercy is always present in the company of His beloved. We are always in close proximity to a WaliAllah and in reality, without the presence of a WaliAllah, society would face drought and hunger. It is impossible that a nation faces punishment and disputes with a WaliAllah present for they bring peace, blessings and the mercy of Allah ta'ala through their mere presence.

Lands that experience catastrophes are often those where no WaliAllah is present. As the time of Qiyamah approaches, there will be a scarcity of AwliyahAllah in the world, and such lands will face divine punishment.

How may we recognise a WaliAllah?

On your quest to find a WaliAllah, when your heart testifies that a person is truly a WaliAllah and that he can guide you to success, then he is indeed a WaliAllah. At that point, you may ask him to supplicate on your behalf.

In the Hereafter, Allah ta'ala will ask us - those who recognized someone as a WaliAllah, to bear witness to the AwliyahAllah. We should strive to connect ourselves with such a person. The mercy of Allah ta'ala descends upon the WaliAllah, and those who accompany him may receive these splashes of mercy.

If your heart does not recognise a person as a WaliAllah and you have doubts about him, then he is not a WaliAllah, even if the entire world claims otherwise. He will not bring you true benefit, and you should not seek to connect yourself to him.

On the other hand, sometimes Shaytan may cast doubts in a person’s heart about a truly pious individual. In such cases, you should strive to overcome these thoughts and supplicate to Allah ta'ala to remove these whispers of Shaytan and grant you complete conviction in the pious person, so that you may derive full benefit from his guidance.

May Allah ta'ala allow us to implement these precious pearls. Ameen
