Jewels of Ramadhan 2026- Episode 7

If we want to achieve success, we have to put in serious effort and be willing to make many sacrifices. Our target is to achieve the love and nearness of Allah ta'ala.

The first step toward working hard is to correct our intentions. When we make a sincere intention to achieve something, then despite difficulties and challenges, Allah ta'ala will assist us because of our determination. Without this, it can seem impossible to reach our goal.

After forming a sincere intention, we should not worry about how difficult the route to our end goal appears to be. If our intentions of acquiring His love are sincere, then we will easily be able to sacrifice many things to acquire this.

The fire of Namrud was lit for Hadhrat Ibrahim عليه السلام, yet, he jumped inside without fear or hesitation. As a result, Allah ta'ala protected him from the heat of the fire and made it cool for him.

Here, we learn that if we sincerely desire to become close to Allah ta'ala and our intentions are correct, we will overcome the challenges and difficulties that come our way through the assistance of Allah ta'ala.

Shaytan overwhelms our minds and convinces us that we can solve our worldly problems through haraam means, such as lying and fraud. If we abandon these actions, we may appear to suffer a worldly loss, however, Allah ta'ala’s help will remain with us, and we will succeed in passing the test.

No act of worship benefits a person, and all of his good deeds go to waste, if he does not have a correct intention.

If a person’s intention is focused on the world, then Allah ta'ala will grant him worldly possessions, status, titles, and respect in this life. However, true honour lies in being loved by Allah ta'ala. A person should not be concerned about whether people of the world respect him or not.

If our intentions are sincere, our actions will reflect that sincerity, and our deeds will guide us toward the destination we hope to reach. When a person’s intention is correct, he may still face tests throughout his life; however, Allah ta'ala will certainly assist and support him.

The Noble companions went through severe hardships, yet, they endured them for the sake of becoming close to Allah ta'ala.

Dhikr of Allah ta'ala doesn’t take a person towards success, it is merely a means. Rather, it is ones intention that leads him towards his destination.

If a person engages in dhikr without the intention of drawing closer to Allah ta'ala, he will be deprived of its true benefit. He may gain worldly recognition through people’s praise and take pride in hosting Dhikr, but he will not receive the reward and benefit from Allah ta'ala. However, with sincere intentions, Allah ta'ala will assist him in abandoning wrongdoing.

A single action can either lead you toward sin and distance you from Allah ta'ala, or, if your intention is sincere, it can bring you closer to Allah ta'ala.

The pious predecessors reached the heights through Dhikr and sincere intentions and not through abundant worship.

Even great acts of worship, such as Tahajjud or establishing Islamic institutions, become meaningless if a person’s intentions are corrupt.

If we seek to become a Haafidh for the wrong reasons, it will become the cause of our destruction.

It is not a great achievement to merely perform Dhikr; rather, it all depends on one’s intention. A person may perform Dhikr or go for Hajj, but he must reflect on what he wishes to gain from these actions and what intention lies behind his efforts. Intentions are crucial. The same Umrah or Hajj could even become a cause of punishment if performed for the wrong reasons. Therefore, true success depends upon our intentions.

The sign that a person is becoming close to Allah ta'ala, is that he abstains from the unlawful things throughout his life. He does not compromise upholding Allah ta'ala's command for the sake of earning the world.

The greatest objective for a person is to achieve the pleasure of Allah ta'ala. Although this may appear very difficult to achieve, we must strive and work hard to reach it.

Dhikr is a great shortcut which leads one to Allah ta'ala very quickly and easily. If a person performs Dhikr with the intention of becoming close to Allah ta'ala, then his Dhikr takes him directly to Allah ta'ala. It purifies a person within immediately. However, if a person’s intentions are incorrect or contaminated, he may experience strange or troubling thoughts during his Dhikr.

Allah ta'ala has not prevented us from obtaining things that bring comfort, such as buying a new house or a nice car. Rather, we are permitted to have these things to fulfil our worldly needs and necessities. However, we must not use unlawful means to obtain them. To improve and make our lives comfortable, we should not compromise our prayers or neglect the commands of Allah ta'ala in the process.

We should prioritise those actions that bring us closer to Allah ta'ala. In return, Allah ta'ala will grant us a comfortable life to help us continue on that path. We should carry out deeds that remain within the boundaries of Shariah.

After that, such a person does not need to struggle excessively to attain worldly comforts. He will not be overly anxious about acquiring worldly wealth, nor will he compromise the laws of Allah ta'ala to gain the Dunya. His main priority will be to present his deeds to Allah ta'ala in the best possible manner.

If we prioritise the Dunya over fulfilling the commands of Allah ta'ala, we will achieve nothing but the world. We will be cursed and punished in the grave. If we earned wealth through unlawful means, then our children inherit this money after we die and will utilise it in the same unlawful manner and we will be punished in our grave as a result. This is because we did not live with the intention and purpose of becoming close to Allah ta'ala.

We should reflect over our objective of life.

First of all, a believer should intend to attain the nearness of Allah ta'ala. Achieving the pleasure of Allah ta'ala is a difficult goal, which is why we must strive and work hard. A person who lives with this objective in mind will have a unique way of life.

The true pious people sacrificed their entire lives in order to achieve the nearness of Allah ta'ala.

The Sheikh removes the intoxication of the world from the student and when it is removed, the student attains the purity of Deen. Thereafter, the student experiences enjoyment in practicing the Deen.

We should lead our lives with sincerity and in return, we will receive the mercy and grace of Allah ta'ala.

Our businesses should not prevent us from performing Dhikr. If possible, we should even close our shops for the entire month of Ramadan. If Allah ta’ala has granted us wealth now, He will also provide for us after Ramadan.

We have no excuse for not sacrificing some of our business or work time during this blessed month so that we can make the most of its good opportunities. We must make many sacrifices to achieve the nearness of Allah ta'ala. Often, we lack determination because our intentions are not truly correct.

There is no benefit in fasting without having the purpose of attaining the nearness of Allah ta'ala simultaneously. The reason we fail to receive benefit from our Dhikr is because we haven’t made the necessary sacrifices.

Every one of us has the capacity and ability to acquire Allah ta'ala's nearness and love. It depends on how much we utilise this quality Allah ta'ala has granted us. We should not blame other factors.

We should seize the opportunity and adopt those deeds through which the nearness of Allah ta'ala is attained without considering how difficult they seem to be. We should sacrifice our time and efforts for this purpose. These are the true people of faith.

As parents, we should not feel comfortable watching our children neglect practicing their Deen. Unfortunately, nowadays some parents worry that their children may become “too pious” and struggle to secure jobs and careers because of it.

We should break ties with our children who overlook the responsibility of prayer instead of continuing to fulfil their needs and requests. If we do not lead them towards prayer, then we will be punished first.

We should remove anything that prevents us from progressing on the path towards Allah ta'ala and His nearness, as such things become obstacles and challenges for us.

If we are rectified ourselves, then our affairs will also be rectified.

Our worship will only provide us benefit when we intend to come close to Allah ta'ala through it.

True Bay‘ah involves seeking forgiveness from Allah ta’ala as well as fulfilling the rights of people by repaying what is owed and settling our matters with others. Such sincere Bay‘ah becomes a means of guiding a person toward Paradise.

There is no benefit in taking Bay'ah if we are not willing to sacrifice the Dunya in order to progress in our Deen. After taking Bay'ah, others should recognise the change in our character.

The standard of Deen is reflected in how much we practice the teachings of Islam, fulfil our needs with the provisions Allah ta’ala has granted us, and distribute the remainder to those who are in need.

It is better we assess our actions today before Allah ta'ala takes us to account in the Hereafter whereby our limbs will testify against us.

May Allah ta'ala allow us to implement these precious pearls. Ameen
