How Can We Die With Safety of Iman?

Many dangerous things surround us during this era and it is very difficult to be protected. One may only be saved by seeking refuge from Allah ta'ala.

Why is fitna dangerous for us?
There is severe fitna around us which grants us loss. This refers to our Deen declining and Deen being destroyed.

Allah ta'ala instructs us to rise and pray in the morning and pray again before we retire to sleep.

What is placed in prayer?
Prayer prepares us for the Hereafter and purifies us from sins. It teaches us to constantly turn to Allah ta'ala when we are unoccupied. From morning until evening, we should focus on turning to Allah ta'ala. This is the quality of a believer.

This world has made us lost, particularly those who do not pray. In reality, prayer teaches us the preparation for the Hereafter. If one was to pass away between prayers, he would be successful because prayer is a means of removing sins.

One incurs loss by failing to pray. A person who does not believe in Allah ta'ala, will flee from prayer and chase the world. It is due to the fitna we are facing today that our Deen has been impacted and contaminated.

We should constantly have concern for the Hereafter. Nabi ﷺ mentioned that soon every thing will be spoilt and one will not know what is unlawful and lawful.

The glory of a believer is that he is prepared for death with every second. Such a person who is prepared is not worried about worldly things.

There are two parts to our Hereafter. Imaan and righteous deeds.

Once the Prophet (ﷺ) stood over one of the high buildings of Medina and then said (to the people), "Do you see what I see?" They said, "No." He said, "I see afflictions falling among your houses as rain drops fall."

Fitna descends upon our house in abundance like raindrops. This fitna refers to the Deen declining and our faith withering away. Today, our Deen has been contaminated. We are immersed in corruption and disputes and we practice Deen according to our weak faith. We must seek protection from Allah ta'ala.

Nabi ﷺ has stated that the sign of the final days is that a person sins, considers it insignificant and does not accept it as a sin. Unfortunately, we do not even like to be corrected for our wrongdoing. When a person rejects the laws of Allah ta'ala, he is indirectly criticising Allah ta'ala and disagreeing with His orders.

The life of the Hereafter begins at Barzakh and Allah ta'ala has allowed us to prepare for Barzakh in this world. Either it will become a portion of heaven for us, or a pit from Hellfire. If we have prepared for the Hereafter correctly, we have no reason to be concerned. If we wish to prepare for our Hereafter, we must strengthen our faith and our deeds.

It is not easy to depart this world with faith.
Shaytan will seek to steal our faith and this is the corruption we are facing today.

There are two strong protections granted to us and if we take hold of these two things, we will be granted the wealth of faith and will be able to depart this world with it.

These two things refers to implementing the laws of Allah ta'ala and adhering to the ways of the Sunnah. Deeds are accepted when they are performed according to the Sunnah.

Our main purpose of life is to decorate our grave. We should utilise our time positively in this world and avoid arguments. We should not waste our time to convince and seek favours from others. Instead, we should become true believers and concern ourselves with the Hereafter only by working hard to please Allah ta'ala.

Whoever lives his life for the sake of Allah ta'ala, will be rewarded for every pain and hardship that he is afflicted with.

Allah ta'ala desires that we turn to Him in all circumstances and seek refuge in Him.

We are all affected by fitna so we should distance ourselves from this fitna, otherwise, we will become shackled by it. Nabi ﷺ has advised us to constantly visit the graveyards so that we are not neglectful of our death and so that we can cultivate the concern for death.

We should abstain from those deeds which distance us from the success of the Hereafter, lest, they will become a form of fitna for us. This world is a place of negligence so we should protect ourselves from this world. Today, if we form an intention and have determination, we will face great enjoyment in the afterlife.

Nabi ﷺ stated that if a person adopts the ways of the Sunnah, he will be safe from the fitna.

وَاذْكُرِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ وَتَبَتَّلْ إِلَيْهِ تَبْتِيلًا

"Always remember the Name of your Lord, and devote yourself to Him wholeheartedly." [73:8]

Dhikr is what will protect us from the fitna of today. We should detach ourselves from the world and attend the dhikr gatherings at the Khankah. We should seclude ourselves there.

Hadhrat Arif Billah Dr. Abdul Hayy Aãrifi Rahmatullahi alayh states that by adopting the company of the AwliyahAllah, a persons faith is protected and he will depart this world with faith. Unfortunately, this practice is being dishonoured today, although this path of Tasawwuf and Tazkiyah will be present until Qiyaamah as long as a person has a true desire for it.

Upon this path, a person attains sincerity and preparation for the Hereafter. If a person has desire and passion for the preparation of the Hereafter, then he will receive the impact of the company of the AwliyahAllah and will receive peace.

It is very difficult to be safe from the corruption and evil in this day and age. The only cure is seeking refuge in the company of the AwliyahAllah. This is guaranteed protection for all, scholars and non scholars alike. If we fail to adopt this, we will not be protected and nor will our children and we risk our Imaan being ruined.

We must protect our wealth of faith the way we protect our worldly wealth.

One should adhere to the company of the WaliAllah with the intention of saving our Imaan. We should seek a true WaliAllah by assessing his practice of the Shariah and Sunnah. We should observe his practice over his knowledge.

When Allah ta'ala desires good for someone, he grants him the love for a waliAllah in his heart through His mercy. This is the Sunnah of Allah ta'ala. He desires to save this persons faith from fitna. Through this guide, one will depart this world with faith.

A person who finds it difficult to visit the waliAllah lives a wasteful life. This is because Allah ta'ala has decided that he will not die upon faith. In reality, a person cannot guarantee that he will die upon faith if he fails to imitate the Sunnah.

A mureed is he who has love in his heart for his Sheikh. When one sincerely desires to meet a waliAllah, Allah ta'ala fulfils his desire. However, those who have malice and hatred and are stubborn, do not succeed.

When Allah ta'ala sends us to a good gathering, we should take hold of the opportunity. We must have love for the Sheikh and adhere to his company in order to protect our faith, otherwise, we cannot succeed. Through the teacher, a person attains the nearness of Allah ta'ala.

Shaytan tries to extract the faith of a believer right until his death. Those who have not cultivated their faith, do not die upon faith.

Company of the Sheikh is necessary. One visits a Sheikh for the sake of Allah ta'ala and the Hereafter and not for the sake of the world. The AwliyahAllah will depart this world upon Imaan. If we love them and adopt their company in our life, then we will also be with them. This is the formula to dying upon Imaan and sisters may also attain this status.

May Allah ta'ala allow us to implement these precious pearls.
