The Way to Earn Dunya

In Ahadith it is mentioned that the greatest deed is the dhikr of Allah ta'ala. Dhikr is essential and it grants us the benefits of this world and the Hereafter.

This world and the Hereafter are intertwined. If this world did not exist, then the Hereafter would not exist. Similarly, Paradise and Hellfire were created due to the existence of this world. Our actions in the world certainly impact our Hereafter. Thus, whoever's life in this world is good, their life in the Hereafter will also be good and vice versa.

With every passing moment in this world, we are traveling closer towards our Hereafter and our abode in the Hereafter, is prepared based upon our lifestyle in this world. Unfortunately, we are ignorant of this fact and remain immersed in this world, sacrificing ourselves for it and forgetting the Hereafter.

Islam has not prohibited us from trade and earning wealth, however, the reason we are unsuccessful, is because our approach of earning the world is incorrect. We all desire prosperity which is a natural feeling, however, due to being immersed in this world, we overlook the need for earning for the Hereafter alongside. We perform actions solely for the purpose of happiness and earning in this world.

Being wealthy in this world can never bring a person true happiness. We may attempt to seek happiness from wealth and assets, however, we end up wretched due to our obsession. Rather, happiness is connected to having a peaceful heart.

We tend to believe that the orders of Allah ta'ala have no connection with this worldly life and by performing righteous deeds, we are unable to prosper in the world. We believe that our acts of worship earn us sole benefit for the Hereafter.

In reality, our worship also benefits us in this world. Many abandon prayer as they do not see worldly benefits from it. They consider prayer a hindrance to their jobs and their schedule and they do not believe that prayer holds power to grant them worldly assets. Shaytan has distanced them from the Hereafter, so instead they only perform those actions which they consider beneficial in this world.

We have arrived in this world for the sake of earning the Hereafter and not for the sake of attaining prosperity. We should correct our mind-set and remind ourselves that this world and the Hereafter are connected to each other.

How to live a comfortable life and earn a beautiful Hereafter?

If we desire to be wealthy in this world and be happy, then we must focus and correct our Hereafter. Due to our preparation for the Hereafter, Allah ta'ala will grant us a prosperous life in this world.

The Deen does not restrict us from gaining worldly success. Prayer not only grants us a beautiful palace in Paradise. Rather, it generates wealth for us in this world. Prayer is not a waste of time and a hindrance. In reality, when we implement the orders of Allah ta'ala, we are constructing our comfortable life in this world, as well as the Hereafter.

It is our habit that whenever we wish to attain progression in this world, we abandon striving for the Hereafter. However, this is a complete wrong approach. If we desire something in the world, then we should pay attention towards the Hereafter and work harder.

Allah ta'ala informs us that when we prioritise and work for the Hereafter, Allah ta'ala will fulfil our needs for the Dunya automatically.

For example, at the time of prayer, Allah ta'ala expects us to leave our worldly occupations and fulfil prayer. In return, Allah ta'ala continuously blesses us with worldly progression too.

We can never achieve success in this world by forsaking the Hereafter. We will fail in our attempts. The wealth we earn will cause us distress and negative outcomes. Peace will be removed and we will be faced with all sorts of problems. This is because we attained the world in the wrong way.

Allah ta'ala is the one who assigns wealth to His servants and it is in His control. We must focus completely upon Hereafter in order to achieve the world.

It does not befit a believer to detach himself from the Hereafter even for a moment. If we are overly concerned with the world, we will not be successful with regards to our Hereafter. We should shun the world and focus upon the Hereafter.

Allah ta'ala has emphasised the importance of the Hereafter throughout one third of the Quran so that we can remain focused upon it without being diverted.

In reality, our Dunya is manufactured through working for the Hereafter. If we wish to be successful in both worlds, we must prepare for the Hereafter.

To strengthen our connection with the Hereafter Allah ta'ala granted us dhikr so that we are never disconnected from the Hereafter. Through dhikr, we are given the success of both worlds. Those who are void from His remembrance, are dead inside. Dhikr is such a worship which destroys our obsession and negligence of the world.

The AwliyahAllah do not teach you to become a Sheikh and attain miracles. Rather, they train you to focus on the Hereafter and in return, the Dunya will arrive to you.

If you recite one 'SubhaanAllah', you will be granted abundance of peace and satisfaction in both worlds. Your heart will be full of peace and contentment and your soul will be illuminated.

If you struggle to sleep due to worry or anxiety, you should recite the Kalimah, 'SubhaanAllahi Wa Bihamdihi SubhaanAllah-hil-Adheem' and you'll fall asleep without worry.

We should take hold of the dhikr gatherings and in return, the angels will supplicate for us and Allah ta'ala's mercy will descend upon us continuously.

Allah ta'ala protects us from various calamities and difficulties due to our dhikr. It is a shame that we have no belief and certainty in this.

Dhikr of the heart is what grants us concern for the Hereafter. If we correct our thinking and have concern for the Hereafter, we will be granted the happiness of the world and our worldly affairs will be corrected.

"And do not be inclined to the wrongdoers or you will be touched by the Fire. For then you would have no protectors other than Allah, nor would you be helped." [11:113]

Due to one's influence of the disbelievers, he will also be destined for Hellfire. We must correct our faith and imitate the Prophet ﷺ, otherwise, we are following the ways of Shaytan.

We fail to have concern over the Hereafter. Being prosperous and blessed with assets in this world, doesn’t mean that Allah ta'ala is pleased with us. If we actually desire the pleasure of Allah ta'ala, we must obey and imitate the Prophet ﷺ.

All difficulties and pain come from Allah ta'ala. If our heart is at peace, then we will feel no worldly pain even from major loss.

To attain success and benefit of both worlds, we must implement the orders of Allah ta'ala. When we perform a good deed, we are not merely performing it to attain reward of the Hereafter. Rather, we will receive the positive impact and benefits in this world from our worship too.

Our problems are in fact, eliminated due to our preparation of the Hereafter and we are granted the strength and ability to bear any difficulties we face with happiness. This refers to the satisfaction of the heart.

May Allah ta'ala allow us to implement these precious pearls of wisdom.
