If You Want to Love Allah

The objective of every action in deen is to attain Allah ta'ala's love. Only with correct intention, we will be rewarded for our actions. If we worship without the intention of gaining His love, our actions are pointless. If we acquire His love, we are successful.

The noble companions sacrificed the world and their entire self to gain the love of Allah ta'ala.

Paradise is based upon the love of Allah ta'ala.  If we acquire His love, we are granted Paradise as a reward. Allah ta'ala desires us to make effort to acquire His love. To perform worship is not what grants a person the love of Allah ta'ala. It is something else.

Love for Allah ta'ala refers to having exclusive love for him without having love for the strangers. If one has love for others besides Him, he is considered a hypocrite and Allah ta'ala has no connection with him. Those who have true love for Allah ta'ala, Allah ta'ala Himself testifies that He loves such people.

"Say, ˹O Prophet ﷺ,˺ “If you ˹sincerely˺ love Allah, then follow me; Allah will love you and forgive your sins. For Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful." [3:31]

Allah ta'ala instructed the Prophet ﷺ to announce, that if mankind desire the love for Allah ta'ala, they should follow the Prophet ﷺ's path and imitate his ways.

In reality, the actions we perform without adopting the Sunnah in parallel, have no weight. Such actions do not grant us the love for Allah ta'ala.

All success of life is based upon adopting the Sunnah and Allah ta'ala has instructed us to emulate the Sunnah throughout our lives

The greatest corruption today is due to the reason that a person rejects the Sunnah and he doesn't accept the invitation of following the Prophet ﷺ.  He considers it unnecessary although all the holy companions followed the ways of the Prophet ﷺ and sat in his blessed company.  Only then they were granted the love of Allah ta'ala.

When we follow the Sunnah, we must be prepared to face hardship and poverty, opposition and mockery. We should not be ashamed, nor should we hesitate upon facing such hardships. Rather, we must persevere. We must be prepared to make sacrifices for imitating the Sunnah. This is when our true love will be demonstrated.

A successful person is he who has the love of Allah ta'ala in His heart and a person can only acquire His love when he follows the footsteps of Nabi ﷺ. No other action will grant us His love. This is the hard work we must strive towards.

We shouldn't belittle any Sunnah or harbour doubts regarding it because every Sunnah takes a person to Paradise even if its seemingly a minor action.

When one imitates the Sunnah it is not necessary that he will experience miracles and visions. Rather, he is a beloved of Allah ta'ala for imitating the Sunnah.

Allah ta'ala saves the believers from punishment and if the believers are oppressed, then we should realise that there is something lacking in the Ummah, not in the power of Allah ta'ala. Calamities upon the Ummah are due to us rejecting the Sunnah.

We must imitate the Prophet ﷺ inwardly and outwardly, for example, staying away from interest, usury. It may prove a difficult action, however, we must persevere, as true enjoyment lies in the Hereafter. Thus, we shouldn't seek it here in this world through chasing luxuries.

The first lesson we should teach our children is to imitate the Sunnah. We should teach our daughters Haya - modesty.

It is a shame that we raise our children to be Huffadh whilst they grow up to oppose the Quran. Our children fail to follow the Sunnah. Such parents will be questioned by Allah ta'ala for not protecting the Quran given to their children. A haafidh or a scholar has double responsibility. If they oppose the Quran, they are given double punishment. The Quran will curse them and testify against them. Those Huffadh who protected the Quran and practiced upon it, their parents will have crowns placed upon their heads by Allah ta'ala. We should teach our children to preserve the Quran and not to delay prayers.

Allah ta'ala gave us much detail and description regarding the Prophet ﷺ so that we may imitate him.

There are two groups of people. Those who are hypocrites, deceive people and claim to be the lovers of Allah ta'ala and those who claim to love Allah ta'ala whilst imitating the Prophet ﷺ's ways.

We must follow him completely without making claims. If we make a mistake against the Sunnah, we must seek forgiveness and then hold firm upon the Sunnah again. To believe that we may oppose the Sunnah and that we will somehow become close to Allah ta'ala, is a big deception.

The test of a Muslim is to earn his livelihood according to the Sunnah and to never discard the Sunnah.

How to acquire and implement the Sunnah?
When we have love for the Sunnah, it is easy to implement it. Thus, we should ask Allah ta'ala for the love of the Prophet ﷺ and his Sunnah. Thereafter, love for the world will be extracted from us and we will be inclined towards worship.

We must rectify our hearts through performing dhikr morning and evening in order to gain the love of Allah ta'ala and His Rasul ﷺ. This is the formula to attaining the love.

Those whose hearts have been rectified, naturally imitate the Sunnah. The first sign of the success of one's dhikr, is that he adopts the ways of the Sunnah. As a result, his spiritual diseases are eliminated and he exhibits excellent manners. Allah ta'ala will love him and he will love Allah ta'ala.

May Allah ta'ala allow us to implement.  Ameen
