These are the sacred months in which Allah ta'ala increases the rewards for our good deeds. We should hold these months in high esteem through saving ourselves from sins and through performing good actions. We must control our sins and avoid actions which bring His displeasure.
We are not ignorant of what displeases Him, thus, we cannot claim that we did not have the knowledge. Rather, we are only oppressing ourselves through sin.
We should make an effort to pray in congregation five times a day and pray with great caution. This action is beloved to Allah ta'ala. One is excused only if he has a valid reason to abandon congregation, however, to abandon congregation out of laziness is extremely disliked.
We should fulfil the rights of these days by working extra harder and making sacrifices. We should not waste time. We should not be lazy and heedless as these days will not return.
In Surah ikhlas, Allah ta'ala informs us regarding the definition of complete faith and how necessary it is to have sincerity. The message of this Surah is that there is no example that is comparable to Allah ta'ala. Therefore, there is no comparison to His name which has been protected by Allah ta'ala Himself.
The greatest name is the name of Allah ta'ala and His personal name is the greatest intermediary which takes us close to Him.
Allah ta'ala has ordered us to remember His name. Through this, we become close to Him.
Why is His name the means of closeness instead of any other form of worship?
In the Quran, Allah ta'ala has mentioned that He should be remembered in abundance. He has not ordered abundance for any other act of worship. Every deed and act of worship is limited besides dhikr. Allah ta'ala has prepared this source for the believers to be connected to Him with every second and become closer to Him.
A believer should travel towards Allah ta'ala's nearness with every moment. He should be better with every passing moment otherwise, he is at loss. Every new day should be better than the previous day. This should be our standard of life.
For whom has Allah ta'ala kept Paradise for?
We cannot comprehend the greatness of Paradise. It is kept for that believer who progresses with every moment. The more a person draws closer to Allah ta'ala, the more he is progressing
When we perform dhikr, our status is elevated. Shaytan will try to prevent a person from dhikr and make him lazy. This is because dhikr takes a person closer to Allah ta'ala. Those who are distant from dhikr and the dhikr gathering, are under attack by Shaytan. He has trapped them and makes them consumed by the love of world and materialism. They become heedless from dhikr and it is Allah ta'ala's punishment upon them that they advance further towards the world.
Dhikr removes the obstacles between Allah ta'ala and His servant. It removes love of the world from a person's heart. It allows a person to draw closer to Him and removes the hurdles which prevent a person from becoming close to Allah ta'ala.
Allah ta'ala has placed a quality within dhikr that it allows a person to abandon sin and love for the world. Dhikr becomes a form of assistance for him. Without dhikr a person cannot travel towards the love of Allah ta'ala.
One may perform dhikr alone as it is the means which takes one closer to Allah ta'ala, however, a Sheikh is required to teach a person how to recite His name. We need this assistance which will guide us.
The sword is the weapon which destroys the enemy. It certainly holds the capacity to destroy, however, the sword requires a hand to enable it to strike. Similarly, the greatest intermediary is in fact dhikr, however, it only becomes a true intermediary once you have a connection with a Kaamil Sheikh. You require guidance from a Sheikh just like you require hands to hold a sword. Without a Sheikh, you cannot learn dhikr.
We are not trained nor equipped to learn dhikr without a Sheikh, thus, we may incur loss or harm ourselves in the process as we do not understand the rules and principles.
The Arabs knew how to recite Arabic however, Allah ta'ala sent the Prophet ﷺ with the Quran to teach the Quranic Arabic, explain it and spread the knowledge to the world.
The dhikr of Allah ta'ala is a necessity for every generation. We must learn the dhikr by seeking a teacher and learning it from him. Thereafter, we must perform the dhikr as he has prescribed to us. Our intention should be, to become close Allah ta'ala.
Today, we face severe tests and sins. His blessed name is what will protect us from this evil generation and show us the straight path. It will cause us to become Allah ta'ala's beloved.
If we are sincere upon following the right path, then we are not distant from the nearness of Allah ta'ala. Allah ta'ala grants us His friendship through reciting His name and such a person who acquires it, will never fail.
The more punctual one is with dhikr, the more successful he is. When he is lazy, he is under attack by Shaytan and he will grant one the love of the world. We should request Allah ta'ala for the love of His dhikr. If we are lacking in love due to our sins, we must repent to Him.
Through dhikr, every doubt and negative thoughts are erased and one is granted certainty that he is upon the right path. There is no means greater than dhikr which takes a person close to Allah ta'ala.
