Bayan Episode 42- The Last Asharah in Manchester

Another name for dhikr, is eliminating laziness and negligence.

It is mentioned in Ahadith that these Kalimaat are very weighty and beloved to Allah ta'ala.

Mizan refers to that scale with which a person's deeds will be weighed in the Hereafter. There are two Kalimaat which will fill the entire scale with their weight.

Allah ta'ala will not look towards the quantity of our actions. Rather, what is considered is how beloved that deed was to Him. Such acts are very valuable. Any actions which are beloved to Him hold a common quality and a person is required to perform hard work in order to perform the deeds which are beloved to Him. For example, the morning is a time of drowsiness and sleep is often prioritised. However, those who perform dhikr during in the morning are given many benefits.

After the compulsory action, the act of Tahajjud carries the highest rank.

The more we work hard to perform deeds, the value of that deed increases.

If we feel lazy, we should push ourselves to still carry out that deed. Even if that deed is performed out of laziness, Allah ta'ala will accept that action.

Success lies in crushing our desires. Our desires will invite us towards impure actions, however, we should disregard our desires. This is the practice of the deen

The more we crush our desires and train them, the more successful we will become. Our desires will then bring us towards goodness. Ramadan has been given to us so that our desires can be trained to oppose wrongdoing and to encourage us towards worship. This is what the Sufi teachers teach us. The AwliyahAllah oppose and fight with their desires in abundance.

The prime time for a human being is his youth up until he is forty. This is when Wilaayat is attained as one is required to fight his desires. It is the duration in which his desires are at their strongest.

A person who crushes his desires in his young age, can attain a very high status. When he achieves this in his youth, he attains enjoyment in his old age as he has already attained the nearness of Allah ta'ala. Thus, we should work hard as much as possible whilst we are young.

To free a slave in the days of the Prophet ﷺ was considered a great deed, particularly from the progeny of Hadhrat Ismaeel عليه السلام as they were from a noble lineage.

In todays era, we do not have the system of slavery, however, we have been granted a Kalimah. If we recite it, we will be gievn the reward of freeing ten slaves from the progeny of Hadhrat Ismaeel عليه السلام

We should be steadfast upon this path and never leave the hand of our teacher after taking it. We should crush our desires and practice upon the advice given by our Sheikh. In this way, our world and Hereafter will become good.

We shouldn’t forget the promises we made with our Sheikh. We should repent and make an intention to adhere to the promises. If we repent today, Allah ta'ala will forgive our previous state of laziness and He will elevate our status.

It is a very valuable act to take the hand of a guide, so we should fulfil the rights of being a student.

May Allah ta'ala allow us to implement. Ameen
