Bayan Episode 41- The Last Asharah in Manchester

In a Hadith, it mentions that if a person loses out from the goodness of Laylatul Qadr, he loses out on all goodness. This Hadith means that such a person will never be granted goodness after that. If we worship during this night, Allah ta'ala grants us more than one thousand months in reward.

Allah ta'ala revealed the Quran during this night and it is due to the Quran that this night is known as the 'night of power.' Without the Quran, this night would not be better than one thousand months. The greatness of this Ummah is due to the Quran and all the light comes from the Quran.

Allah ta'ala desires that we attain the objective of this night. This night is not for decorating or for arranging Khatam. In reality, the night of Qadr reminds us of our relationship with the deen. The Quran is what caused Laylatul Qadr to become a great night, so Allah ta'ala desires that we should ponder over our personal connection with the Quran. This Quran grants us guidance in detail. Thus, when one is distanced from the Quran, he becomes deviated.

Unfortunately, we fail to practice upon the Quran and this is our own loss. We should establish our connection with the Quran and strengthen it through implementing it. Only then we will receive the benefit and reward.

There are two types of relationships with the Quran. Either we recite it, or we memorise it. One who recites the Quran and he implements the Quran, his parents will be granted such a crown in Paradise which will shine brighter than the sun.

Why are the Parents granted this reward and not the reciter himself?

This is because the duty of rearing falls upon the parents, so it is the achievement of the parents who raise their children properly upon the Quran and have the concern over their deen.

Prayer is what prevents one from sin. One who doesn't pray, is easily inclined towards the opportunity of sin. If we do not train our children to pray, they won't pray. If we do not pray, they will not practice the deen and later we will regret it. Thereafter, we should not blame other factors besides ourselves.

If we desire our children to be righteous, we should pull ourselves together. We should remove the Haraam from our house. This is the hard work we must perform in life. We have to sacrifice something in order to receive. We can either chase after this temporary world and the Quran will step back or we can prioritise the Quran and the world will step back. We must select one as we cannot have both.

The choice is ours. If we select the world, then know that this world is temporary and it will perish. Our difficulties will soon end and we will be granted ease. Soon we will be forgotten and then we will enter our graves. If we choose the Hereafter, it will expand for us and it is everlasting. We may be tested when we practice the deen, however, it is only for a short while.

It is a shame that due to the love of the world, we have sacrificed our deen although life here is temporary. The message of the Quran is that we must make a sacrifice in order to become close to Allah ta'ala.

The Haafidh who values and implements the laws of the Quran throughout his life, will be granted a high status in Paradise. Allah ta'ala will order him to keep reciting and ascend higher in rank until he finishes. Allah ta'ala will allow him to intercede for ten people from his family who are destined for Hellfire and he will be permitted to extract them from Hellfire.

If we make the Quran our guide and live our lives according to it, we will become great individuals and lead our lives with an objective.

What is the right of this night of Qadr?
Hadhrat Aishah Radiyallaha Anha asked Nabi ﷺ regarding the objective of this night and which worship to perform? He ﷺ responded stating that one should seek forgiveness from Allah ta'ala and supplicate to Him.

The one who repents during this night and makes a promise to live his life according to the Quran, has attained this night. We should not waste this night! Each of us are sinners, so we should seek forgiveness and this is the greatest worship tonight.

Tonight, Hadhrat Jibraeel عليه السلام descends to the Earth with his cabinet. He will advance towards Makkatul Mukarramah and erect the flag upon the Ka'bah Shareef. Then, he will spread his six hundred wings across the world and he will order his angels to visit the houses of the believers. He will instruct them to place a stamp of Paradise upon those houses in which the inhabitants live according to the Quran. Furthermore, the angels will shake the hands of those who are immersed in dhikr. Thereafter, these angels will report back to Hadhrat Jibraeel عليه السلام at Fajr time.
Those home in which there are unlawful practices, are written off unless the inhabitants repent. If they fail to repent, they will be deprived.

If there are photos in our homes, we should remove them. Only then we have spent this night correctly. We must seek forgiveness from engaging in music, usury and other Haraam.

Nabi ﷺ stated that there is a piece of flesh in the body which is the heart. The whole body is controlled by the heart. If the heart is corrected, then the entire body is correct. If the heart is spoilt, the entire body is spoilt.

If a person works hard upon his heart and purifies it, he will live according to the deen, as well as his family. He will begin practicing upon the Quran and his generations will be saved. The dirt accumulates in the heart, so we must clean and control our heart otherwise, it will not allow us to practice upon the deen irregardless of how much knowledge we possess and how much worship we perform.

The way to strengthen the heart and protect it, is via the method of dhikr. When we perform dhikr, Allah ta'ala eliminates all evil thoughts and temptations. Our prayers are improved and we become inclined towards prayer.

Through dhikr, the heart is polished and illuminated. Thereafter, it pulls one towards deen without compulsion. In this way, one begins loving Allah ta'ala and the deen. This is an easy solution.

Allah ta'ala has placed a limit upon all worship, however, Allah ta'ala has ordered us to perform dhikr in abundance. There is no set limit for it. This is because we are in desperate need of dhikr and we are surrounded by darkness and evil. Dhikr is a powerful weapon which destroys all darkness. If we abandon dhikr, Shaytan is released upon us and attacks us. He influences us which is why we should not be neglectful even for a second.

We should make it a habit to remember Allah ta'ala with every breath. If the name of Allah ta'ala is recited with every beat of the heart, then when the heart pumps blood to the body, the entire body and every cell recites His name.

This type of dhikr does not prevent us from performing our worldly work. However, with this formula, the heart will enable you to act according to the Shariah. Your heart will receive and accept the laws of Allah ta'ala with ease and you will desire to practice the message of the Quran. This is how you will be improved.

The first step to change our life is via dhikr and if we make a promise to change our life today, we will be granted more than one thousand months worth of reward. This is the biggest worship for today.

Allah ta'ala has defined the path. We must seek a Sheikh to learn dhikr as it is the solution for reformation. If we hesitate, we do not sincerely intend to improve. If we learn dhikr, it demonstrates our efforts of trying and Allah ta'ala will appreciate our efforts.

Regarding repentance, we shouldn’t worry about falling in to sin again. His mercy looks for excuses to forgive us and enter us in to Paradise.

There is no achievement in staying awake all night long. The main purpose of this night is to repent and learn dhikr so that our life can be transformed. Through this dhikr, our heart will influence us towards good and towards Allah ta'ala and it will assist us. Our heart may be occupied in the world, but our heart will be connected to Allah ta'ala.

If we wish to rectify our children today, we must rectify ourselves first and engage in abundant dhikr.

The Sunnah actions are the greatest actions of all and carry unimaginable reward. We are scared to adorn the turban even though it is not the non Muslims who make comments. In reality, we hesitate to wear it out of fear from the opinion of our own people.

The Amamah is a great Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ and even the angels wear the Amamah. Nabi ﷺ stated that whomsoever prays with an Amamah, the reward of his prayer will be multiplied by seventy times. Furthermore, if we act upon the Sunnah during this time of corruption, we receive the reward of one hundred martyrs.

May Allah ta'ala allow us to implement. Ameen
